If you're ordering from Alibaba to Papua New Guinea, be prepared to wait a very long time. What should take weeks can drag into months, sometimes even close to a year depending on the supplier and shipping method. It's incredibly frustrating, especially when there's little to no tracking information or customer support once the package leaves China.
If you purchase a trailer with equipment you should be able to at least get the equipment serviced if there is an issue with it or be able to return it if you are not completely satisfied. I received a used/non working two way split AC unit and was not offered a return option or a service to find out why it doesn't work. I only got an excuse it was new and that was that. Hands washed for me to figure it out.
The customer service at Alibabet limited my maximum stake to one euro and prevented me from contacting their support in any way. Every time I logged in, a chat window popped up that I always had to close. Since I was limited, I couldn't even open the chat anymore, even though they have a link to the live chat here.
I've been using Alibaba for a long time and generally had a great experience, products usually arrive on time, and customer support has been helpful in the past. However, this time, I faced some issues. My order took way longer than expected to arrive, and when I tried to reach out to customer support, the response was quite slow and not very helpful. I'm not saying the whole service is bad—this is just my honest feedback about this particular order. Hopefully, things go smoother next time like they usually do.
Absolute Nightmare – No Real Tracking, Endless Delays, and Insulting Customer Service!
I placed an order for a generator from seller Eva Chen-NPC Ltd, on May 20, 2025, paying in full upfront (I was nice to her since she asked if I did it would help her greatly with her job). I asked the seller nicely to see about getting it done sooner so we have time to set it up long before winter settles in but-waiting for engine-to then not shipping immediately after built when I was told 10-20 days to do so, thus making me wait to the very last minute!! to ship it! What followed was months of frustration, lies, and incompetence that has left me questioning if Alibaba is just a platform for scams.
The seller dragged their feet with excuses about waiting for parts, then marked it "shipped" around their deadline -not the one I was told-without any proof. Despite dozens of requests, they refused to provide basic details like the Bill of Lading (BOL), container number, vessel IMO, or real tracking info-only a vessel name. They gave vague assurances like "don't worry" and "mid-August delivery," but nothing verifiable. I even had to verify the vessel name myself on VesselFinder because they couldn't be bothered!
Alibaba's "support" was even worse – generic, copy-paste emails telling me to "check the shipping details" (which are empty) or "contact the seller" (done endlessly). Chat reps stalled with insults to my intelligence, looping advice while ignoring my escalations. Emails from July 16, 17, and 22 went unanswered for days! They claim Trade Assurance protects buyers, but when sellers violate rules (no on-time shipment proof, potential address misrouting from Oregon to my remote Wisconsin spot), Alibaba does nothing but suggest extending time or refunds as a "last resort."
Living in a rural area ( WI), I needed advance details to arrange heavy machinery for unloading – without them, delivery could fail, costing me more in fees or rentals than the generator itself. This unnecessary stress has been outrageous, and I've demanded compensation (at least 10% of order value), but crickets.
Avoid Alibaba if you value your time, money, or sanity – it's full of unreliable sellers and a platform that sides with them. I'm opening a dispute for a full refund + compensation, and warning everyone: Shop elsewhere! By the way, on the live Chat with Alibaba, if the agent delays on responding after 120 seconds, you will get cut off and you will need to start over, another waste of customer's precious time!
once payment was confirmed and delivery started j received 2 wrong messages from alibaba telling me my order is canceled ! (payment default).
but process went on and chat with company provider confirmed me that all was ok.
I’ve used Alibaba.com a couple of times with good results, but the last time was a disaster. I ordered hats, but the manufacturer did not put “Made in China” labels in them so customs rejected them. I thought no problem because of Alibaba’s Trade Assurance guarantee. They offered me only half my money back when this is clearly a mistake on the part of the vendor and a lack of quality control by Alibaba.com.
The cargo reached my hands very quickly. But; these shoes are quite harsh by the standards of "dance senakers". It should have been a softer, elastic-soled shoe..
final price of product is never the same as advertised recently inquired about a boom lift advertised at $8.000cdn final price given was $50.000 about 70%of enquiries are not responded to from my perspective a complete waste of my time
Many website errors on Alibaba.com. Proper testing would have prevented me from seeing these errors. The fact Alibaba allows themselves to show errors to users disappoints me.
I've had a mixed experience with Alibaba. On one hand, the platform offers an incredible variety of products at highly competitive prices, making it a go-to for sourcing specific items. The sheer scale of what's available is impressive, and the ordering process is generally straightforward.
However, a recurring issue I've encountered is the quality of the products. While the prices are attractive, it often feels like the items are cheaply made. This can be disappointing, as what appears promising online sometimes turns out to be subpar in person. While some purchases have been acceptable for the price, others have fallen short of expectations due to their flimsy construction or low-grade materials. It's a trade-off: affordability versus durability. While I'm somewhat satisfied with the convenience and range, the inconsistent quality of goods is definitely a point for improvement.
