"Approved partner" scam, then treated like criminals for trying to pay full price
We were solid BJ's members until their in-store sales partner, Renuity Operations, pressured us into a hurricane door quote, with promised discounts written into the contract that never appeared on the final contract. Customer service was a maze designed to send us back into the store with no resolution, and the store manager — to her credit — was just as frustrated with Renuity as we were. We canceled and left.
When we tried to rejoin months later, paying full price with no discount requested, a rude employee refused, accusing us of gaming the system — then their own Member Care line told us conflicting things in the same call: a 365-day ban, followed by "actually you can join today with a different email." After being burned by their own vetted partner, getting jerked around on the membership we're trying to pay for is a special kind of insult.
Order cold cuts turkey ham cheese I tell the lady at counter please cut thin she shows me a slice it’s cut thin then she adjust slicer back to thick so instead of thin ham slices I get a ham steak or cheese thick can’t get a good sandwich with thick slices please we need thin I realize it’s more work but don’t cut it thick just do ur job or go home
We are new members of BJ’s, not for long, though.
On our first few trips to BJ’s Warehouses we were unimpressed. The quality of the BJ’s products seems poor, and the warehouses have a Flea Market persona.
I went to the App to look for our closest warehouse, and after 15 minutes of trying to find a Warehouse Locator, on the App, I finally gave up. I called BJ’s alleged Customer Service Department. That call reminded me of the widespread demise of customer service in America. First, the person that I talked to at BJ’s alleged Customer Service barely spoke English. Then, when I asked him where the Warehouse Locator was on the App, he did not know the answer to that simple question. He put me on hold (for a ridiculous amount of time), while he researched my very simple question. The alleged Customer Service Agent came back to my call, and told me that there was no Warehouse Locator on the App, but there was one on the BJ’s website. What a slipshod operation. We will cancel our BJ’s membership, ASAP. We are, again, reminded how wonderful Costco is.
The worst! Customer service messed up my refund so had to stand in line again only to have the one person working pushing sales of an upgrade of their membership. 30 mins later…
BJ's needs to have SEPARATE lines!!!! One for RETURNS and the other for MEMBERSHIP SIGN UP!!!!
I WAITED IN LINE At Customer Service for 23 MINS to return a package of spoiled lunch meat at the "NEW" GRAND PRAIRIE STORE. All 4 customer service reps were signing people up for the BJ's membership card!!!! If that lunch meat wasn't so expensive, I would have just dropped it on the counter top and walked out!!!
Do better BJ's!!!!! Make separate lines!!!!!!
I stopped receiving my coupon books in the mail in the fall of 2025. Despite numerous calls and numerous emails I have not yet started receiving my books over 6 months later. Customer service is nearly impossible to get a hold of and they are rude and absolutely no help. I suspect my account had been hacked and they were no help in trying to investigate and resolve. Despite the fact that I am handicapped and unable to walk 50 ft without resting, I am told I can walk into the store to get my coupon books, leaving me no choice but to sit in my car and make a shopping list or bring it home and go back, because apparently to them it doesn't matter whether a person can walk okay or not.
Pat at the tire center in Toms River, NJ went above and beyond to help me with my propane gas refill . He saw that I potentially needed help and without asking just took my tank out of my truck and put it back with a pleasant demenur. Thank you Gordon Soos
BJ’s whokesale Club..hummmm! Where are the rewards ?? I could spend $600 and not one reward??? It’s a Scam!! They claim you gain so much ? Whrere? Over expensive ? You feel like a criminal in every BJ’s you shop at???
I thought being a club member provided benefits ~ I bought a tv, the price was $2,699.99, because I am a member, I got a $1,300 club discount - I took the tv home, started the set-up to find the arm of the stand was not in the box, so I returned it - no other sets in the store - I decided I’d look around at other stores near my house - I found the exact tv at ABC Warehouse for $1,300 - BJ jacks the price up to make it appear they provide such great deals - beware of the club discounts BJ’s claim to offer! I also got a free soundbar with my ABC Warehouse purchase!
First off I have not come across any other business so quick to flat out lie to you and then like most lies they have to continue to lie and some how they do it too well. So this tells me that they are so good at lying that some how they begin to believe themselves. I don't want to support a company that operates that way.
The worse store is the one in capitol heights Md . Beginning with the staff that are so mean and disrespect ,poor customers service and atención to the clients ,long lines for 1 cashier while some associates are just walking around .
Spoke with the guy on the phone great customer service he gave an explanation on the four tires we purchased at a great discount. I would recommend BJS in Sumter SC.
First I must say the company carries good quality product. My issue is with their logistics. I am old so I ordered a 77" TV delivered and also bought their installation services. The shipping was slow. Took ten days to get the TV. Their installer is Handy"s They rescheduled a couple of times. They in turn turned around and hired Angies. Only one guy showed up to install this TV on the wall! As he entered the door he starts with" I am only being paid 30$ for this job"! Somehow he managed to get the old TV down from the wall mount. It seems he crushed the new Samsung TV while picking it alone and mounting it on the wall. Now the new TV is damaged. He takes it down but could not install the old TV back. I had to put it on a table and rewire it myself! I started calling BJ's After three calls they said CEVA will pick up the TV and refund my money. After several calls CEVA made an appointment but never showed up! Th Tv is still sitting in mu room. There is no way to contact Ceva. All they have is a text phone. Nobody is responding! The reason for this review is old people like me depend on service, I do not want them get into the same problems I have!
Update! Ceva showed up and picked up the TV and the mounting bracket! Than God I was home!
Love store hate app!! Locks you out of account constantly , though email and password are correct!! Who wants to wait an an hour to once again try to log in with email and password thought the app constantly forgets it!! I’ll be shopping aldias not waiting an hour to try to log in to clip coupons . Think about asking to add members number if it can’t remember log in credentials
I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received regarding my order and the way this situation has been handled.
I am a paying BJ’s member and pay for my membership every year with the expectation of receiving reliable service and customer support. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been the exact opposite.
My package was supposed to be delivered, but the first delivery attempt failed. UPS claimed that my apartment number was missing from the address. However, my apartment number has always been correctly listed in my BJ’s account and on the order information. UPS blamed BJ’s, and when I contacted BJ’s, they blamed UPS. As a customer, I should not be caught in the middle while two companies pass responsibility back and forth.
In an effort to resolve the issue, I personally contacted UPS and confirmed my complete address, including my apartment number. I also contacted BJ’s and confirmed the exact same information again last Friday. I was assured that the issue had been fixed and that my package would be delivered on Monday or Tuesday.
Today, I learned that the delivery failed yet again for the same alleged address issue. This is completely unacceptable. My address was correct from the very beginning. There is no excuse for repeated delivery failures after the address was verified multiple times with both companies.
What is even more frustrating is that nobody is offering a real solution. I continue to receive apologies, but apologies do not solve the problem. Instead of immediately reshipping the item I already paid for, I am being told to place a new order and wait for a refund. Expecting customers to spend additional money while waiting for a refund is unreasonable and unfair.
I have also received conflicting information regarding the refund timeline. Customer service representatives told me the refund would take 3 to 5 business days, while the BJ’s website states that refunds can take up to 10 business days. The lack of consistency and transparency only adds to my frustration.
Most importantly, I was previously assured that the problem had been resolved and that the package would definitely be delivered. That assurance proved to be false. The package was still not delivered, and I am left without my order despite doing everything I was asked to do.
As a loyal paying member, I expect far better service, accountability, and customer care from BJ’s. This experience has wasted my time, caused unnecessary frustration, and demonstrated a serious lack of coordination between BJ’s and its delivery partner.
Because of the way this matter has been handled, I will be sharing my experience through public reviews and consumer complaint channels, including the Better Business Bureau and other consumer protection resources. Customers deserve honest communication, effective problem-solving, and respect for the money they spend and the memberships they pay for.
I hope BJ’s takes this complaint seriously and works to improve its customer service and delivery processes so that other customers do not have to experience the same issues.
I ordered groceries for two weeks. Their app had some tech issues but they don’t have tech support. Finally got the order in to be delivered between 8-10 pm. Nothing came, then I got an email that my order was cancelled.
Customer service said they, meaning Door dash or insta cart tried to deliver my order. No they did not. I have been sitting by the front door with the window open since I placed the order. Customer service had no idea what happened.
So I have to wait 5-7 days to get my money back and then resubmit the order. I don’t think so.
I escalated this issue and will hear back in idk how many days. In the mean time what do I eat? Unacceptable
The is the store manager named NAZ! Taylor, MI. Pictured on the video. He is very rude and disrespectful and wasted my time and money!
I waited 15 mins for help to pick up my first online order…the pick up supervisor looked at me and another guest 3 times before he finally decided to help us. The other customer had already been waiting for help when I arrived! I didn’t get his name but he was Caucasian, young, very tall, very thin with lots of curly hair!
The manager (in the video NAZ) was on register #7 working! HOW CAN YOU WORK A REGISTER AND MANAGE THE STORE???? I’ve held several management positions and have ALWAYS been trained that you can’t manage and be stuck in a position or on a register unless you have no other recourse. CLEARLY THIS IS WHY THE STORE WAS FALLING APART.
I approached him to make a complaint and asked if I could speak to him about an issue, he was instantly rude! I stepped away and asked an employee if there were any other managers, NOPE! I waited but had to approach him a second time and this time he started screaming and yelling at me and throwing a whole fit like a little girl!
Luckily my daughter recorded the entire incident. My 3 year old grandson (who u can hear upset in this snippet video) was with us or I would have let that manager have it‼️
I let him throw his fit and then asked for the corporate number because clearly having a civil conversation with him wasn’t going to happen (my exact words) he gave me the wrong number😤😡🤬 His customer service (not hardly) silver Latoya stepped in but didn’t say a word so I’m not sure why she stepped into the conversation. When I went to the service area to ask for a refund, she mad an excuse for NAZ stating that maybe he just got the number mixed up. He is the store manager…shouldn’t he know the number???
She jots down the correct number, then tells JEFF (who was very helpful and kind) to get me a refund. Mind you she was doing NOTHING but standing there while Jeff had a line full of people. Supervisor why didn’t you do the refund or help Jeff clear his line???
Next comes Tina G…also very kind and helpful. By this point I on the phone with corporate. Tina is trying her best to assist with my refund, my anger and my call to corporate. Here comes Latoya and tells Tina to go get on a register🙄 Tina says but I’m helping this customer. Latoya barks…I told Jeff to do it, mind you that Jeff still has a line of folks.
Finally Latoya decides to help…BUT ONLY after Jeff says he needs help with my refund. I will NEVER spend another dime on BJ’s and will be canceling my membership.
We ordered a Blackstone Grill from BJ's online yesterday and we had to include a $40 tip for home delivery. My senior citizen husband had to help the delivery girl carry the 130 pound package into our garage. BJ's Is this anyway to run a business?
This past weekend I drove into BJ tire center and had the pleasure of meeting Pat Hamilton. I was very upset since I am new to the area and was driving in with a full flat tire. Not only did he calm my nerves but took care of my problem.
Let me add during my visit, he was alone and taking care of everyone in a very respectful, professional way.He had alot of very angry customers and handled himself so well and professional. He took care of everyone and their needs. I will be honest and say as good as he was, he does need some help. I watched him run out to look at people's cars, propane along with a few angry people. I really appreciated him and wanted you to know what a great employee you have and when I need new tires I would like him to be the one to take care of me.
