Bad Customer Service and Violating Consumer Protection Laws
As you can see from other reviews, BJs does not have any real customer service. The Hampton Va store has tons of complaints and when I complained about bad frozen food that had been thawed and refroze, they gave me a generic response but did nothing to correct the issue. The employees stocking frozen food are leaving the frozen foods out on the floor for hours when restocking.
Second issue is BJs is scamming customers. I turned off auto renewal last year and BJs turns it back on without your consent. Again, this year I had autorenewal turned off. Also, I did not authorize BJs to store my credit card. BJs turned on auto renewal and if I had not seen the email, they would have charged me when I do not plan on renewing my membership. Not only that, they are violating federal consumer laws. Every credit card that I had used for shopping in BJs was saved in my account. I never authorized BJs to store my credit card information.
This is the second time I made a purchase from BJ'S and the item went on sale a week later and when going to customer service was told we don't price match "only our televisions". There was a suggestion to return the item for a full refund then re purchase the item at the sale price, personally I didn't want to do that after purchasing a computer. I am very disappointed. I have learned that BJ'S competitor would have refunded the difference I am considering changing wholesale clubs.
We have been longtime BJ members and I’ve never had an issue like this. We bought new tires for our car got an appointment. They came in. We went to leave our car off. They only had one young small girl for the entire staff and she could not get the lug nuts off. She told us we would have to go to a different BJ’s. She said no one was coming in that could help us. We asked if we could bring it back tomorrow when the manager was there and she said no they didn’t have room for us. Myself and my father took the morning off from work to take care of this and now we’ve wasted an entire morning. I asked for a refund and it took over an hour for them to figure out how to refund the money back to our credit card. Will never go back to BJ’s again for Auto work very very, very disappointed.
Thief's!! Do not use BJs or their credit card, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!
Thief's!!! I opened a BJs account and got the mastercard. BJ's then reupped me using the credit card without telling me. I called and cancelled the card because I dont want it used like that. I just received a bill a year later for $130 for the BJs card. I called in and they said I called in and asked for the card to be reissued and the $130 was for a new membership. 1st, I never asked for a reissue of the card and 2nd, $130 for a membership, are you kidding me. I'm on the phone now trying to get it cleared up and the BJs agent was rude and telling me I had to pay the $130. I'm on now with capital one and hope they can clear it up. I'm happy COSTCO has come to town, Good bye Thief's at BJ's
Ppl needs to be very careful with bjs, 1st of all the self service clon credit cards in nj,2nd if you order online even if yiu dont have a automatic renew they will keep you cc imformation and charge you after.3rd check yiur recipe after purcharse because they do kot apply coupons and it happen very often.
I'm writing this review on the BJ's in Conyers Georgia about one of its employees Ms Jada.
I'm writing this review on the BJ's club in Conyers Georgia. I always shop at this store. The customer service is always good but, today 8/20/2026 the customer was outstanding. I wanted to complement one employee that I had contact with twice while we were shopping. Ms. Jada in the conyers Ga store was amazing. She was polite, she thanked us for shopping at BJ'S. After we left the store. I went to the BJ'S gas pumps and after I finished pumping my gas, I needed a receipt and walked over to the window. There was no one there. I waited a few minutes and all of a sudden Ms. Jada walked. She asked how she could help? I told her I needed a receipt and she made a call on her radio. The clerk returned and Ms. Jada went inside and she printed the recipe I need. Ms. Jada is the kind of employee that every company wants. Please pass on a big thank you to Ms. Jada
Terrible experience with BJ's membership and customer service. I received a promotional postcard from BJ's to join for $15 and receive a $30 credit after first purchase. The card was validated by the local BJ's Store and I signed up. I was given the rules for qualifying for the $30 credit (spend $90 or more on one visit within 30 days). Two days later I spent $184 on groceries at BJ's, but never received the $30 credit. I went to the local stores customer service desk and they said I should have gotten it. I called the 1-800 number for BJ's customer service and they looked up my account and the offer code used. They told me I should have received the credit and it would be processed within 2-3 days. I never received the credit so I called their customer service again and this time the representative told me I would receive an email from their rewards department while I waited on the phone. Five minutes later she came back and said the matter had been resolved and I should open my email. The email from BJ's said in one sentence, we have reviewed this matter and the discount code you used was rejected and there will be no credit given. I closed my two week old BJ's account on the spot. I had used the promotion they sent to my house, it was real and valid. BJ's is a scamming people and no one should shop there.
Bjs is not worth the price of admission anymore, no free delivery (unless you pay an extra 100 a yr), very limited free delivery. In my opinion not worth it other clubs offer free delivery and free shipping for the same 120.
I signed up for bjs on the 31st of July the add stated it was $15 and I’d get $1 off gas for 30 days. Well the discount never showed up. I emailed went to the store and it was always the will look into it. Then they come back and say I didn’t do it right that I’m not getting it??? lol I’ll never shop there again and only did once. I have the screen shot of the link I used, the bottom said the discount would be loaded in 24-48 hours and never did. After asking it was we will look into, the people at the store, we will send it off. After I finally got impatient and demanded a resolution they said I didn’t get it…. LOL scam. I want my $15 back forget this place.
I usually shop at giant or acme. I thought to m8x it up and go to bjs. I specifically wanted to stock up on meats. I did get pork tenderloin, turkey tenderloin, steak and chicken. I cooked the meats the same way I always do. The pork and chicken were tough. I'm hoping the steaks are good. The prices did seem cheaper, but I'm not happy with the quality of meat.
I shopped at BJ's Valley Stream in NY .I have spent $25 dollars buying Avocados there ,everytime I buy a bag, they dont ripened, instead they just get rotted , dots of rotted flesh all around the fruit ,the rest of fruit still not ripe Either they were picked too early or refrigeration not monitored properly , placed in colder temperature that is why they dont ripened.
The papayas as well , they are become soft but pale yellow inside and not sweet.
I used the online ordering option for a Mega Chef Hot/Cold water dispenser. It arrived prompty, with plenty of shipping notice to follow timing of delivery. The product was everything the discription discribed. We are very happy to house this attractive streamlined water cooler in our place. Highly recommend this product.
Scan to checkout promoted at the store. I scanned my items and checked out on the app, only to have the staff at the exit rescan every item. She said it was “just in case.” Will not use that again - waste of time.
Stepped up to the deli counter and the female there never a knolwledged my presence. She pretended to clean until I asked if the deli was closed. Without turning around, she scowled I will be with you in a minute. When she did turn around, she she never asked what I wanted. She gave me the most hateful look, I was afraid to order for fear of what she might do to my food. I continued to the front of the club to ask for a manger, who never showed up. I spoke to a young man who approached to find out what I had to say. After hearing my complaint, he offered a gift card. I declined and left the store still very upset and shaken to learn that this person has prior complaints. Not shocked, but I will not excuse racist behavior for a gift card of any amount. I will not renew my membership at the end of the year and will not shop st the Belair Rd location as long as she works there.
I had placed a large deli order for July 25th. When I went to pick up the order, it had been misread, and there was only 1 platter out of 4 ready. The team at the deli worked quickly and efficiently to fix the error. Sometimes, things happen. I really appreciate that they had my order finished in a timely manner and with smiles! I wish I had gotten their names. They were great!
BJs refused to issue a refund for canceled membership fees
BJs debited my checking account for membership renewal fees without prior notice or permission, and my current membership has not yet expired. I called to advise their Customer Service Department that I canceled my membership and wanted an immediate refund to my checking account but was told that they don't see the fees on their end - which is outrageous. I am living on a very limited income and I cannot wait "days or weeks" to have this matter resolved. Their overseas call center is horrible. They offer no solution, and, infuriatingly, reply with scripted responses. One of their so-called Supervisors also lied when he told me that they don't have the number for their corporate headquarters. I was able to find it by simply Googling it. Now, when I spoke to the receptionist at their HQ, I was told that he had to transfer me to the Customer Relations Department so I can leave a message and someone will get back to me in (3) days or so. This is not acceptable! We are living in the 21st Century. I need my money to be reimbursed immediately! Do not allow this company to have direct access to your accounts. I will never purchase anything from BJs in the future. I will go to COSTCO instead.
I am a bjs member 40 years now . 40 years is a long time . I was so happy finally they put ribs in a package cooked . That was 9 days ago . People have been asking for it - I was happy they finally it . Today 9 days later it is not available- do not know when - finally they have it - don’t stop it . Also coffee I was buying today expires in 2 weeks . I always look at expiration dates & I will not spend $50 on coffee that will expire in 2 weeks . Today I was disappointed in the club - please don’t go downhill .
I like shopping at BJ'S been for years, so I figured I would try the website to order my stuff, whoever created that website should be taken outback and buried, you really should get a better company to work your website, I had no problem useing Walmarts right across the street on memorial drive in Chicopee ma, because of your website after this month you are losing this customer. Smarten up
BJ's sends junk mail to my address for "John Doe." There is no one with that name here. Their website says to email them to stop mailings. I did, explaining that the person is not at the address. Their customer service team responded with "Hi John, ..." (I already said I'm not John) and said to fill out a form where you have to say that you are the person or their "authorized agent." I am neither of those, as I had already told them. I explained again. They sent the same reply. I explained a third time. They sent a reply saying, "Hi John... [I'm still not John]... I request you to please tell to other person to fill out the below form." The person I already told you I don't know? Really?
Don't expect competent service from this company.
