I was a happy member in the past and was excited that it was back. Terrible! The cards don’t work and no customer service so twice I was forced to pay instead of using the pass. Nobody to call or help. Requested cancellation so hopefully they do. A waste of money!
This is just a way to get ppl to pay money for a month or two before cancelling. Imagine the money they'll make that way!
I had movie pass before. Back then you could get someone to help you. But now? hahahahah!
I have tried and tried to get customer service. They say hold on and then "conversation ended". They ask a question and don't give you time to respond before you get "conversation ended". It's all bots. They have pat questions and if your problem doesn't fit then you have to try everything they have and MAYBE, if you're LUCKY you will finally be able to write a message. But then they say to hold for a rep and the "conversation ended". I've got 34 credits and can't use them bc I can't get through to ask a simple question. Like, why isn't the movie I want to see at a theater that you cover NOT showing up on you app under that theater? Can't get through! I think I'm going to file a complaint with my charge card company to get my money back. Maybe I won't but at least I'll give them the same crap they've given me.
I’d give it lower if I could. No customer service and they charged me and assigned me a subscription without me choosing one. No option to cancel
Account. I’ve been waiting on a response to email for a month now. Horrible. Never even got to use it
Ugh
Both husband and self received our cards.
I activated my card, received credits and promptly use them. But.. they have made no deductions for Feb or Mar meaning no credits no movies. Why?
My husband has been unable to activate his card. His name and password lock him out?
So since January we separately, have emailed these problems. The following is their response

Since January????
Not happy or at this point hopeful that this relaunch is going to work😞
FYI the card he received doesn’t have his name but instead reads
MoviePass Member the telephone number on the back of the card refers you back to the email address we’ve been waiting on a response from????
Lordy, we were original members on the first launch, expected an easy renew.
If a representative would like to contact us that would be great.
If I could leave zero stars I would. I joined and changed my mind before they even sent me the card because they wouldn't respond to emails. After repeated emails to tell them I wasn't joining and to return my subscription money, they refused to respond. I never used their service, never even downloaded their app or created an account. I wound up having to dispute the charge through my bank.
I was a Beta User when they first launched in Kansas City. I signed up the first day they offered it and it was $15 a month. A week later my partner signed up for it and it was only $10 a month.
I reached out to them to ask them to lower my monthly price and ask for a refund for the 2 months they were overcharging. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me and they only lowered my payments and ignored my request for a refund.
So I tried to cancel my subscription in their app and *shocker* it didn't work. So once again I emailed them (days before it was set to renew) and asked them to just cancel my account and it took them a week to respond, letting my subscription charge to my account again. I'll reach out again to get a refund for the extra month I was charged but I'm sure I won't hear from them.
I was actually able to use the card/app to see movies but the app rarely ever worked like it was supposed to and was missing tons of basic features. Their customer service is horrible and that's what made me cancel my subscription and will look into an AMC subscription instead.
My second go around with movie pass has been delightful. I have the 20 dollar plan and have already seen 5 movies at 3 different theaters with credits to spare. I do wish I could reserve tickets prior to being at the movie theater in order to get preferred seats but if there is a new release I don’t mind going to the theater early to reserve my ticket. At 4 dollars a movie, it’s totally worth it.
I can't speak for folks whose cards don't work but honestly I think this relaunch is great. If you manage your expectations and are a true cinephile, this is a great value. I have the $20/mo plan and have already used $24 worth of tickets with credit to spare. This is not a great choice if you aren't a bit spontaneous with access to several theatre but if you are...I endorse it!
Total scam. You can only reserve one ticket a day and you have to be at the theater right before the show to reserve your ticket. Unless you want to see matinees you can only purchase 1 ticket a month. I’ve had it for two months and haven’t been able to use it at all. I’ve now spent $30 with nothing to show for it. If something sounds too good to be true than it is. Don’t get conned into giving them your money. This is another Ponzi scheme that’s gonna go down in flames like last time.
Quite literally nothing works. They have taken my money and offered nothing that works. I keep getting cards which I cannot activate. The movie times on the app do not match anything at the theater. No customer support except for the very first card they activated for me. This feels like a scam to collect 10 bucks or more per person from as many people as possible and run. Can't believe they actually got seed funding a few days ago from a real investor!
This whole rollout of the new movie pass is a mess. I've been subscribed 4 times because of registration issues and can't get a hold of customer service to fix it. Nobody responds to any of my 5 contact requests. I'm trying to cancel my subscription in the app and it doesn't work. You can't even change your plan level in the app.
Don't fall for it! I signed up weeks ago, received 4 moviepass debit cards in the mail. None of which were able to be activated. The day I attempted to activate my card it locked me out of my moviepass website/app account stating "Authentication Error" I have emailed for support multiple times, over a week and a half later still no reply. I can't cancel my membership because I can't get into my account to do so.
I foolishly signed up again for MoviePass. I signed up for $10/month membership, but they charged me $20. Cannot get anyone to return an email after weeks of trying. The website is awful
If your going to promote Movie Pass as a new and improved, it's off to a crappy start. I have been trying to set up my account and I am constantly getting road blocked because of my password or zip code. Get it together Movie Pass
Their lack of customer service and the glitchiness of the app is the same as before
I've been using the new MoviePass service for going on 3 weeks now in the Florida market. I purchased the $10/mo plan which gave me 34 credits to use for a regular movie (not 3D, not IMAX). Per their cost breakdown, a matinee movie is 10 credits, for any day, any time before 4pm. In the first week, I was able to watch a matinee of Black Panther for 10 credits. Everything seemed to work fine. However, in the past week, the prices of ALL the matinees at the same theatre have changed, from 12 to 17 credits, and today have more than doubled. Today, if I want to watch a matinee of Avatar on a Friday, it's 21 credits. I've tried to reach out to the live tech on the app, as well as email their support. I have not heard back from anyone if this is an error, or if this is their business model. If they continue to jack up prices without any reason or notification, I will not be renewing my membership. This is not what I signed up for.
I haven't been able to use my pass. The plan cost says one thing but they are trying to charge $5 more. There is not a contact number for them to come to solution.
If there is any possibility to give a zero star I would love to do that. This is the worst app I’ve ever seen. Don’t trust this pass and waste your money and time. I believe it’s a scam.
Just got the $15 plan through Movie Pass here in Chicago. It originally said 2-3 movies. Then today, when I went to use it at AMC on Illinois St in Chicago app wasn’t working. It kept saying I had to be by the theatre. I was literally at the theatre box office inside the building. Also, one movie was 30 credits of the 34 you get from the $15 program. That’s ONE movie not 2-3. Also, NO customer service phone number and NO response by email. Don’t do it!!
