Pad Split has been very helpful to me a person who entered a difficult financial period in later life. I knew nothing about it and just took a chance when I made the call to learn more about it. The person ( sorry I cannot recall her name 6-7 months later ( may have been Jessica) but she did facilitate my becoming a Pad Split member. While the home was fine, the expectations as outlined in the description were not followed by some long term members re kitchen etiquette etc. It did improve some over time. Additionally, I had a very difficult neighbor in next room who had a psychiatric illness and believe he was not medicated. He lived there with his mother. I am a retired nurse practitioner in adult psychiatry so speak with some authority. He often screamed loudly especially at nighttime keeping me and others awake. He began banging on my wall at nighttime. It was scary. I knew enough to not respond and finally he would go away. He was finally asked to leave and the new tenants was a couple who didn’t work out very well and they parted ways and left altogether. Something about that room…. While the room was quite pleasant if not small, sharing the bathroom with 2 other mates worked out okay though I am so happy to have my own bathroom in this home. I must say that I could have selected a different PadSplit home ( with a different host) or another co living situation. However, I was and am very appreciative of TJs manner in dealing with both me and the offending parties. I understand these are difficult situations and wonder if improved screening might be helpful in determining appropriate residents. When I reflect on my initial interview I do not recall much of a screening process. Let me be clear that I have no concerns living with people with a mental illness but if their symptoms of the illness become intrusive to other residents or to put it another way, they lack the life skills to live within a varied community, then they should not be there. This former resident used to prop the front door open at nighttime so “ someone” could come in. Scary stuff! This review occurred over a 6 month period.

My host is amazing. He handles any maintenance issues quickly, and he’s a great person overall. Padsplit is also amazing. With the cost of living nowadays this is an absolute godsend

My room was very convenient for me. I was only 4.8 miles from work. I might have stayed indefinitely if it wasn't for 1 major flaw. The smell of mold and mildew was unbearable. It's stung your nostrils. The unit had experienced severe water damage behind the wall in the kitchen. the plumbing was corrected, including the leak from the unit above us however the mildew problem was never addressed. I moved out of that unit more than two months ago, and i'm still battling the smell. Slowly but surely, with each wash, a little more if the smell comes out of my clothes and sheets.

I can clean. I don't mind cleaning for a 60-year-old male. That's a little unusual. It's used to your mommy taking care of you kind of thing. The big problem I have with pad split is they allow anyone into their home. There is some unregistered I'm vetted resin in here. If I'm going to share a bathroom with somebody and a door with somebody, I really would prefer not to be threatened. Pretty much a train wreck

The process for renting a Padsplit was seamless from the time that I needed a place to live to the day that I moved in. Also commutation was very good making the process easier.

The location was perfect, it was less than a mile from my job. The room was clean and spacious and the house had all brand new appliances. The host was super easy to communicate with. Anytime I had a question or an issue they were on it immediately! Best thing of all is the price. Housing has become so un affordable and PadSplit was such a blessing.

Padsplit charged application fee with condition that it would be refunded if the application was not qualified. They had refused my application on grounds that my confirmation letter of employment containing income amount from my employer would not work for proof of income. Then used this as a basis to not refund my application fee 'that there has been no attempt to prove my income'. Which quite frankly is untrue, I had made an attempt and they refused to accept. As being disqualified I should have been given my refund on any general basis of integrity. I would not trust PadSplit to be administering my housing needs. Update: Received email notification that PadSplit is now refunding my application fee. I am happy that they have decided to correct the problem.

The host is new to the Pad Split platform and I noticed that her background is hospitality, which is very impressive as I too previously worked in the industry. She has provided a great variety of appliances that make everyday cooking easier and more efficient. She is a ten in my opinion and I just got here today. Don’t enforce their own rules. And if you don’t pay, despite rule violations, they will kick you off the platform and begin eviction process. Property owners under disclose, fail to disclose, or outright lie about the property conditions and amenities. Executives are non responsive. Their answer will be along the lines of, “we appreciate your feedback and we are always looking for ways to improve our platform.”
