The room is better than advertised. I paid the money and was approved right away after the application. I was able to move in promptly and haven't had any negative issues.

No hot water my first 6 days i was renting and no air-conditioning for 11 days. The problem with pad split is if you have a bad Host who doesn't fix major issues Pad split wont step in and help get it resolved. These where major issues and then they would not even issue me credit of any amount. Ridiculous. Again, no hot water for 6 days , NO air-conditioning for 11 days and I'm in Florida. My room was over 86 degrees at night

The worst living experience ever. The host doesn’t care about anything and I think the response are AI generated. People that I lived with stole my things. They are very dirty and the website is a scam. They will take your money and not give you a proper living. I wouldn’t recommend. Their customer service does nothing so it’s pointless.

This is a really great platform for people looking to save money on rent, are in between jobs/travel or just starting out in life. Thanks to PadSplit I’ve been able to pull myself out of homelessness and save money. My roommates are always pretty cool people, sometimes the noise is a little much if it’s a larger full house but otherwise it’s been good. I currently live in a PadSplit in a smaller town, the only PadSplit here too. The application process to sign up for PadSplit for easy and I got approved instantly even with my bad credit. It’s been a really good experience so far and I’d recommend them to anyone.

Back-to-back stays at two different PadSplit properties revealed a recurring pattern of neglect and zero host accountability. At my first property, support's only solution to a tenant smoking up the house, bringing in unsanctioned guests, and unplugging security cameras was telling me to transfer incurring hundreds of dollars in moving fees.
My second property was no better—ignored maintenance tickets, exposed live electrical outlets, stolen nest thermostat, and residents being locked out with wrong codes and no response from hosts. PadSplit needs to start holding non-compliant hosts accountable and protecting tenants instead of making tenants pay fees out of pocket to to escape unsafe and unreliable environments.

The check-in experience for the specific location I was in a bind to choose, was horrible. The management did not respond to messages and I ended up having to wait until days later to move-in despite specific move-in given through website. To be honest, the other tenants harassed and bullied me out of my room. I heard other tenants pour water onto floor, damaging property, smoking in the apartment and treating me inhumanely. I was forced to move before the 12 month period and they are now asking for a lot more money (about $800 for just moving before specified time of residence) when technically they owe me money back. I went and the room was dirty, I looked under the bed and it looked as though someone moved out in a quick manner before I arrived. It is definitely something strange about the entire website. I reached out to support and still haven’t received a reply. I experienced one of the worst stays and would never choose this option again since there is no safety for the owner or the tenants that actually attempt to keep a good standing with owners. I originally saw the posting and it said that it would make sure public spaces were cleaned professionally but I arrived and there were notices that I (as a tenant) was required to maintain public spaces. The management did not show me that or say anything when I agreed to move-in. The weekly rate (about $450/week) turned out to be the amount comparable to living in my own apartment. Getting your own apartment is actually better since you won’t have to worry about the extra hassle of being other tenants maid/ manager.

This was one of the worst housing experiences I've ever had. PadSplit allowed someone to stay in the home who was not the person listed or approved on the app. That completely defeated the purpose of their screening process and made me feel unsafe in my own home.
While this unauthorized person was staying there, my food and dishes were stolen, and they regularly made noise throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. Despite these serious safety and quality of life issues, the situation was not handled in a way that gave me confidence that residents' concerns were a priority.
People use PadSplit expecting a safe, secure living environment with verified housemates. Allowing unapproved occupants, especially when it results in theft, sleepless nights, and residents feeling unsafe, is completely unacceptable. I cannot recommend PadSplit based on my experience and would strongly encourage anyone considering it to think carefully before signing up.

Just the best and least expensive option for anyone especially if you’re transitioning in between moves and don’t want to rush into something you’ll regret. Less than a month into my booking, the website had already charged me over 200 yuan and kept pressuring me to make payments. Furthermore, although I had initially prepaid a week's rent, the first landlord rejected my booking request; while the site's financial records indicated the prepayment had been cancelled, the funds were actually deducted from my bank account and never refunded. To make matters worse, email correspondence from the site explicitly confirmed that the system had indeed deducted $185 for that cancelled booking.

All of the 3 roomates have been wonderful to live with, the host always messages and responds back quickly, the home is always clean and unkept, and the location is very nice and near lots of restaurants and shopping centers.
