1st time using Travel China Guide.
From the beginning, emailing and planning a private tour with Emily Xin (the Travel Consultant) was a pleasant experience. Emily gave a detailed itinerary with reasonable quotation; answered and explained all our queries; adjusted the itinerary to our preferences.
Even just before the tour started, Emily made sure we were contactable to the local tour guides so there won't be any problems at the airports when we arrived.
During the tour, Emily linked us with 2 very good English-speaking guides for Zhangjiajie (Yolin) and Chengdu (Lisa); booked us into 5-star hotels & allowed the guides to bring us to good restaurants to enjoy their local cuisines.
Since our return, we have been recommending relatives & friends to book their tours with Travel China Guide.

My one day VIP tour with Travel China in Beijing was excellent. We had 6 people in the tour. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to tour Tianaman Square and the Forbidden City. After visiting those places we drove to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. We were able to ride a ski lift up and then hike along the wall to the 3rd watchtower. Then we hiked down to the first tower and rode an alpine slide down the hill. There were very few other tourists and photo opportunities were excellent. The tour then included a lunch in a restaurant that was a giant green house with good food. The lunch, all tickets, and transportation were all included in the tour. Our guide, Tom, was very friendly and informative. His English was excellent as was his knowledge of the history of the sites that we visited. This tour provided a personal and educational (and fun) day of sightseeing.

The guide (May) was well informed, spoke English very well, and worked with the group to meet expectations very well. She was well organized and kept the tour moving to see all the scheduled sites and accommodated our changes requested. The company (Vera) kept us informed very timely when planning the tour.

I used Travel China Guide tours and have no regrets
I used Travel China Guide tours after finding them through Google. Iiked the range of tours and that you could customise as required. The organiser - Lexi Yang, was always prompt and complete in her responses and recommendations. A real pleasure.
There was never any pushy selling or dropping of prices to drive a sale. Which I appreciated.
The guides and drivers were always very professional and knowledgeable with great English.
This made our holiday and I would happily use again.

Taking a Travel China Tour in Shanghai was a great experience. My partner and I booked our tour when we were in Australia, and our consultant (Linda) was polite and got back to us in a timely manner. Payment was easy (via PayPal) and felt secure.
On the day, our guide met us in our hotel lobby at the agreed upon time, and was friendly and professional. He was also helpful in recommending places to eat, as well as other sights to see, and was quite flexible in making small adjustments to our day to beat traffic and the heat - it's these little touches that made us feel like we were taken care of. He was also quite knowledgeable in providing us with the history of the Shanghai water villages.
Overall, I would recommend using this tour company. When you consider the amount of driving in a personal air-conditioned van, as well as the included cost of entry, it's a very easy and convenient way to see parts of Shanghai you might not go to normally!

This was my second trip to China. The second trip with Travel China Guide Tours was much more enjoyable and I saw a lot more of China than the first one on a cruise. The 16 day land/air tour was more intense and it involved travel to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Great Gorges dam, Guilin, Shanghai, Tongli and other more inland places. I can easily was say that the planning and execution of the tour with guides and travels from city to city (although strenuous at times) was immensely enjoyable and culturally inspirational. I highly recommend Travel China Guide Tours to any future prospective travelers.

I booked with Travel China Guide about three months before my travels around China. As the tickets for high speed rail trains are only be released a month before the departure date, my tickets weren't guaranteed. I knew this and some tickets did have to be altered. This was done efficiently by the company, however, there was then a sum of money that was needed to be refunded to me as the newly acquired tickets were less expensive as those I had previously booked. This money was never refunded to me. I have complained many times now, each with the same reply: that the money had already been refunded. Yet every time this turned out to be untrue. It was due to be refunded in July, it is now September and I still haven't been repaid. This is absolutely appalling.
I have now amended my review to reflect that fact that I have finally been refunded by the travel company.
I took the Three Gorges Tour with China Tours. For some reason, my name was not on the passenger list.The agents behind the counter kept making phone calls but nothing happened. The last bus to the boat departed and I was left standing at the terminal. Suddenly a private car arrived and took me to the boat. I was upgraded to the dining room with the panoramic view.
After that initial glitch, everything was fine. The cruise was great and being the only English speaking person on the ship, I had my own private guide at all the ports. I would recommend China Tours to my friends.

Getting the ticket was very efficient and te website well designed. However I think the bureaucracy may be simplified similar to te practice used in the western world.
I used travel china guide for booking my train trips from Shanghai West to Nanjing and other Cities in 4th quarter 2017. I was impressed by two things. 1: the consultant that assisted me when I had to verify my identity and confirm my itinerary was prompt and helpful and 2: the instructions on their site regarding where to pick up tickets and directions were spot on and great... Not speaking/ reading the language the pictures on their site were very useful. I'm going to Hong Kong and China again in Feb 2018 and I'm booking my trains through them now. UPDATE One potential negative thing might be their competitiveness. Although great customer service I notice they charge a 11USD booking fee, which I believe made them more expensive then me booking straight from the MTR website.
I travel to China in February 2017 with my friends and I used Travel China Guide Tours to buy train ticket from Beijing to Xi'an. The process was super easy and the team attended to all my queries promptly. They even send the tickets to our hostel so it was really convenient.
If i ever travel to China in the future I would definitely use their service again.
I found the information on the website to be fairly accurate and helpful however when I tried to book train tickets (after seeing their ad for "5-6usd service fee per ticket") I was highly disappointed. I wanted to book the Beijing to Hong Kong sleeper train, however they added 15usd service fee per ticket. I contacted customer support about this and they simply told me the ad only represents most domestic services and my international tickets had a higher fee, further stating this is explained elsewhere (unspecified and the ad has no link to T&C). I explained that the advert clearly states per ticket and gives no indication of being only for certain domestic fares (I have screenshot evidence) however the agent simply repeated that is not what the advert means. Barely an apology for the "misunderstanding" as they called it and certainly no attempt to answer my claim that they are falsely advertising their fees. Also, there is an option to collect tickets at the train station which clearly states use in mainland china however I was further informed that the tickets are booked and issued in hong kong and therefore cannot be collected in mainland china; requiring a further postal fee. I gave up buying the tickets. I can't trust a service that hides or falsely advertises fees then claims I misunderstood its advertising; especially when I have to pay upfront for a product they might not even be able to give me.
