Consumers frequently point out that expensive power tools and batteries fail prematurely, leading to significant disappointment after heavy investments. Buyers often mention exorbitant repair costs that nearly match the price of purchasing entirely new equipment. Shocking Brand

I have bought and used Milwaukee power tools for many years, over recent times I have seen a big drop in the quality on some of their products thus I now mostly run Makita tools. Now currently only running 2x m18 Milwaukee grinders and an m18 impact. I recently purchased 2 new Milwaukee batteries from ITS and a rapid charger, these items within hours of being delivered and charged had caught fire in the back of the van causing significant damage. ITS were a massive help and gave me all the relevant manufacturer details. Unknown to me from the damage. I sent some items to Makita for testing not knowing which brand had been the starter, Makita's response was second to none within 2 weeks I had sent items, had them tested and returned with a full detailed report. There findings pointed at the cause being another branded battery which triggered the fire (Milwaukee). In the 5+ weeks now Milwaukee have collected items and that is it, I have made numerous calls and emails to find out if items have been delivered and what the findings are and all have been ignored. A member told me David who is dealing with my case doesn't answer calls. That's Wild. The customer service is absolutely shocking, considering the price tag on their products and the money they chuck at their social media stars. This is a fake brand not for the everyday lads.

Milwaukee tools are not what they used…

Milwaukee tools are not what they used to be. They are China junk, and when they break, the company will often not honor the warranty. I have had thousands of Dollars of Milwaukee tools, but I am done with them. I can get mid range tools at another place, and throw them away three times for the same price... and the alternative is just as good for a third the price. Like so many companies that used to be all about quality and customer service, Milwaukee has lost the plot.

TitleDisappointing quality and zero repair support for a "pro" tool

Title: Disappointing quality and zero repair support for a "pro" tool "I purchased the Milwaukee M18 PACKOUT with Charger expecting the professional-grade durability the brand is known for. Instead, I have a $300+ paperweight. This unit is only 2 years old and has been used exactly three times. On the fourth attempt, it completely failed to work. When I contacted Milwaukee, I was told the warranty would not cover it. More shockingly, they informed me that they do not even sell the replacement part required to fix it. Their only 'solution' was for me to take it to a service center and pay over $200 for a repair—which is nearly the cost of a brand-new unit. It is unacceptable that a tool used only three times is already broken and considered 'unrepairable' by the manufacturer unless I pay for it myself. Milwaukee claims to be 'Heavy Duty,' but this experience proves their products are disposable and their support is non-existent. I will be looking at other brands for my future tool needs."

Disappointing Milwaukee bolt cutter

Absolutely terrible. I spent £70 on a Milwaukee bolt cutter and it broke after barely using it — maybe 20–30 cuts, and the tips just snapped. My friend had the same problem in the exact same spot. These cutters are fragile, overpriced, and completely useless. Don’t waste your money on Milwaukee — even a £20 Chinese pair is stronger.

Mediocre quality, horrible warranty

I used a Milwaukee impact driver with a 5 year warranty for about 2.5 years as DIY, not a professional contractor, and once when I was working on regular screws 8x3, the tool broke down - small pieces started to fly out from inside the tool through the small slots, and then is started to make a loud noise. I sent it to the repair center through Milwaukee's E-service Tool Support, and in a couple of days got an email in which they denied warranty repair with the reason "Defective component causing malfunction". If one of the components became defective and broke down, is not it something that the warranty is for? They did not say I misused it or something like that, the reason they gave is something inside is not working properly, so it sounds like a manufacturing issue. The repair center does not answer the phone, the customer service has an automatic message that they are in a meeting and ask you to leave a message. It turns out their 5 year warranty is just a bait that does not really mean anything, because the repair would cost $122CAD - it is cheaper to get a new tool, but it will not be Milwaukee for sure.

Love the Red Devil

I'm sorry to hear people have had bad experiences with Milwaukee, I absolutely love them. As an international company I guess you could expect different experiences in different countries, but I have had no problems using Milwaukee for about fifteen years. It started with my whole workshop bay turning red and now my whole garage is red. I first tried Milwaukee because they had the only driver that could crack worn bolts on CAT gear and now the latest tool I bought was the Sawzall which is amazing it cuts through things like a lightsaber. I'm trying to think of a bad experience with one of their products but I just can't. After I bought the Switch Tank for herbicides and pesticides people complained about leaking, but I think that was due to the horrendously toxic products people use (like Roundup) that melted the little plastic filter inside. I only use organic stuff so I've never had any leaks. I think like anything, many of the complaints about tools (from any company) reflect how they were used not the product itself. That's not to diminish anyone's poor experience with warranties or customer service that's a separate issue.

Milwaukee customer service is the lowest of the low

Milwaukee customer service is absolutely appalling., I've never seen anything as bad tbh. I sent my very expensive one year old impact wrench back for repair, and Milwaukee then claimed to have lost the item. After what seemed like months on appealing to them they then gave me a bare unit wrench in return. The case, charger and 2 batteries were stolen from me and never returned. It now means my other Milwaukee tools cannot be used either because Milwaukee kept my charger and batteries Literally having to take them to a small claims court to get my money back. Lesson learnt about buying from Milwaukee. As you know they aren't the cheapest and I urge you to spend your money more wisely with someone else

My call to Milwaukee Tool was promptly…

My call to Milwaukee Tool was promptly answered by a helpful representative. She guided me through their eService program, which enabled quick repair to my Sawzall. It was back in my hands a week or less after I shipped it off. I was surprised & amazed that although the repair estimate was $104, the two defective items were replaced without charge as a gesture of goodwill.

Never again!

Unwilling to honor a warranty because I contacted America instead of EU! ... my warranty ran out after my initial contact with America, I showed them the email but they pretty much said its your fault. THATS A £450 SAW BREAKING DOWN AFTER 9 MONTHS AND ZERO HELP.....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....DO NOT SPEND EXTRA MONEY - YOU GET LESS!

Bad out of the box. Customer service issues.

I have multiple Milwaukee tools and have been a big fan up until I purchased a New 3/8 electric M12 Milwaukee ratchet. It was bad out of the box. After the first few minutes It started smoking from the motor and the claim is that it is brushless however, the smell was the common electric brush motor smell. I sent it in for repair and it was returned to me within three weeks with the exact same issue so I called Milwaukee customer service and they emailed me a shipping label and I sent it in again. They lost the tool. It has been two months since then I called again today just to be told that they cannot find the tool and even though they said they took notes each time I called and spoke with them. They have no recollection of any notes.

Milwaukee cordless tools - What has happened the robust reliability and durability!

I have used several Milwaukee tools in my life. Recently, two of my new Milwaukee tools have malfunctioned. The first one was the cordless transfer pump where it began to leak, it was replaced under warranty. About two weeks ago, my Milwaukee framing nailer (battery powered) would not work, would not fire a nail and made a ratcheting sound. I was in the middle of using it to build a shed, had to resort to a pneumatic nailer (20 yrs. old) The point, I would like to bring up, is two very different Milwaukee tools I have purchased brand new over the past two years have FAILED. This is poor quality in the manufacturing process before it arrives to the consumer, fortunately they are covered under warranty. But that is NOT THE POINT, the nailer is less than 1 year old with maybe 400 nails thru it!! I spent over $500 on the nailer and it should work consistently and reliably for many years. I WILL NOT be purchasing any other Milwaukee tools until the quality control improves, if that happens? What has happened the robust reliability and durability of Milwaukee tools, it's GONE!
