Buyers remorse - short lived functionality

The bike was great when I purchased it. I really enjoyed the rhythm game and was exercising more often. 1.5 years after purchasing the bike, the pedals stopped registering. The screen turns on, but it doesn’t recognize that I’m pedaling. Customer service has been a nightmare. I’m required to take several videos to prove whatever I tell them, and go back and forth via email. Each response takes days at a time. They sent me a new cord, which I installed, and it didn’t fix the problem. Now I have to take more videos to prove that it didn’t work. I’ve been going back and forth with them since December and still have a useless bike. At this point I have major buyers remorse and I wish I could just return it. I wouldn’t have spent this much money on this bike and the monthly subscription if I knew it would only last 1.5 years. There’s plenty of people online who say they’ve had similar experiences. Buyer beware.

I love my freebeat bike and especially…

I love my freebeat bike and especially the classes with Nicolette! Everyone is so fun and peppy and it really encourages me to get through the ride. However, my biggest critique is that the classes aren’t named the way they should be. Many of times I’ve requested a specific artist for a ride and I know the instructor does the specific songs but when you try to find said class, none of the titles show what class they specifically are. There are too many name “shape of you ride” etc. I wish the classes were named properly.

Look elsewhere for an exercise bike!

01/06/25 - Placed order 01/07 - Order confirmed 01/08 - Credit card charged 01/13 - Anticipated arrival of bike 01/16 - Sent email asking for an update, tracking wasn’t working 01/22 - Freebeat sent email advising they were sending bike 01/25,29,31 – Sent emails asking for a tracking number 02/02 – Have not heard from Freebeat since 01/22 Next week I’ll report this questionable activity to AMEX. After reading other reviews here on Trustpilot, it appears I should have stuck with the more established companies anyway. ___ 02/17 - Shortly after posting this review, Freebeat sent an email advising that they were working on it. A couple days later they sent a tracking number that actually worked. Last week I received my bike! Set-up was simple and the bike appears to be very well built. I am a little frustrated with how difficult they make it to simply "free ride". I just want to watch TV while grinding out 30min on the bike. It would be nice that it tracks / logs these events, but that seems only possible with the hefty monthly subscription.

Childlike Animation and Boring Rides

The graphics in the classes are distracting, childlike and lacking in sophistication. Better to just have your engaging instructors teaching a class of motivated indoor cycling members. Energy up with better music choices (maybe use Spotify?) The outdoor cycling rides are good, not great. Why not take us off-road more? More interesting and diverse rides would be much more interesting. One road looks much like another in current options. How about filming at more interesting sites? Paris, London, Cental Park New York, Broadway NYC, Tahiti, India, Egypt by the Pyramids? Japan in Spring? Hong Kong? If you're going to use graphics, avoid childish images and invest in some tech- look at Les Mills or any gaming platforms as examples. For the monthly subscription, Freebeat has been incredibly disappointing.

I love my Beat Bike

I’ve been riding my beatbike now for about two weeks. I am absolutely loving it! The program selection is amazing along with the customizable workouts among the many selections. The gaming aspect makes this fun and not like you’re just in another pre-recorded class going through the motions. I love that it makes it competitive not just for yourself, but other users too! It is very user friendly for all. Why did I choose to go with Freebeat? 1. The price point was extremely affordable compared to other popular brand names. 2. Cost of membership is comparable to other popular brand names. 3. Partnered with the Boston Celtics. This tells me there is trust with this company. 4. What other company PAYS you to ride as a reward? Overall I am very happy with my Beatbike purchase. (TIP: keep the led light on when you ride for a “club/party” type atmosphere. Thank me later)

The bike came quickly after ordering…

The bike came quickly after ordering and was simple to construct. Adding accounts are easy and there’s TONS of classes that you can do. The bike is awesome working with beginners that feel like they’re struggling to lighten up resistance and I love the “competition” and ability to earn points and compete for Amazon gift cards, etc. It’s great for teens as well due to the “reward system”

Don't let the bike break cause customer service is lousy!

I purchased the bike in July 2023 and it stopped working in September of 2024. Customer service is absolutely horrible. You can never get in contact with anyone during business hours as indicated on the website. The only option you have is through email and so far I've been in contact with someone named Emily who hasn't been very helpful. She sent me a new part which has absolutely nothing to do with the problem and the video she did send was useless because it's not even for the same part that was in the video!! Despite me telling explaining this twice, as well as explaining it's something with the internal wiring, the issue keeps getting ignored. It's as if I'm been stalled to see if I'll just give up on getting my bike fixed that I paid $1500 for!! Today is Nov 12 and this has been an ongoing issue since Sept 30!! Good luck if you ever have any technical issues and don't think that you'll ever be able to get anyone on the phone if you ever have any problems. Don't waste your money, get a Peloton instead!

Mechanically you can’t beat it BUT, they came up short on the charge for Screen.

I can’t say enough about the overall mechanics of the Boom Bike. Resistance Wheel-Excellent! Has a great feel. Handlebars don’t lend to an upright seated position. You’ll lean forward like any race bike. Here’s where they completely dropped the ball! The screen! A $39 per month charge to use the good stuff. Way too expensive for what you get and it’s all bike oriented. For $39 per month you should be able to use it as an extra device! That right! Hook it up like a MacBook or IPad. And INCLUDE the AUTO RESISTANCE feature (one of the best parts of the bike when not opting for the $39 charge.) Overall I’m happy with my purchase but I’ll never pay $39 per month. If I could use it as a device, I’d pay it. It would be OVER THE TOP!
