I purchased Makes You Fluent in early May 2026 after reviewing advertising that promoted AI-powered conversation and practice throughout the program.
After purchasing, I discovered that the AI functionality was unavailable in most of the sections where it had been represented as a key feature. Since my purchase, I have contacted customer support multiple times over a period of several months seeking either restoration of the advertised functionality or a refund.
Although I continued working with the company in good faith, the promised AI features have still not been provided. I also requested a refund, but that request has not been honored.
Because I spent considerable time trying to resolve the matter directly with the company, PayPal later declined my dispute solely because it fell outside their filing deadline—not because they determined that my complaint lacked merit.
Several weeks ago I sent the company one final written request offering to resolve the matter amicably through a refund. I have received no response.
This review reflects my personal experience. I hope the company either delivers the product as advertised or provides refunds to customers who purchased it expecting the advertised AI functionality.

It would be nice if they honored their money back guarantee. I signed up and did not like the way it was structured so I did not use it. They charged me again and I requested a refund as I have not used the product. They refused. They use midnight billing practices and do not honor their guarantee. I fully expect they will pretend to respond and come up with some reason why they cannot refund my money for a product I never used. These practices erode trust in all subscription services.

I like the roleplay exercises, especially shops and introductions. Sometimes I want the AI to wait longer before helping me, but it is a good problem to have.

Total scam! I highly do not recommend! Content is not worth it and you cant cancel your subscription, they renew it at their own will even after I have written them about it. Please stay away or you need to end your credit card! They advertise as money back guarantee, never gonna happen!

Don't plan on cancelling or receiving a refund with this app. I downloaded the app today, didn't like what I saw and tried to cancel. I needed to write an email to the company who tried to keep me with 70% off. I finally received a link to cancel. I was then told I could not get a refund as it was their company policy, even though I had the app for 2 hours. Funny, their website says you can get a refund.

I signed up for 6 month plan. After that I get an email saying I signed up for one month plan then $40 something dollar a month renewal. That's NOT what I signed up for at all. After contacting customer service they say "Oh we're sorry we'll give you 70% off - I just wanted what I signed up for. It's bait and switch. I'm canceling my order and do not recommend this site or app at all.

WEll, I enjoy the topic structure of Nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives. That is very helpful as I write them down and study again after. The Key word and phrase TTS pronounciation favors english pronunciation of flat A and the letter E as an A. So that is a bit annoying. I think that inspite of the quirks I'm learning more than I would with other language programs I've used.
