I'm currently using the Ultimate Version which contains the VPN. I have to turn it off most of the time when I browse with my default browser which is heavily locked down with a number of security extensions. I will try it with another browser but I suspect I'll get a lot of ads I currently don't get. The problem could also be that I haven't yet made use of the 'white list', i.e. allowing sites that I have issues with to bypass VPN. In fact, I've just discovered that ability as I'm writing this. I'll update my review after I see how well it works.
Not counting the VPN, the only other issue I could write about is there is no 'family' package that includes the Personal Identity Remover function.
Other than that, I couldn't be happier with Malwarebytes. I've been using it for years and I've not had a single problem with viruses, fraud, scams or anything else. It has caught and blocked every attempt by someone trying to get into my computer. In today's world, one needs a security program they can trust and depend on and this one is it. The cost is a steal for what you get in my opinion.
My best advice is to try it. I'm certain you'll become a customer for life.
Review update: I've upgraded my rating of MB Ultimate to 5 star because I am finding that I have to turn the VPN off less and less often (and use the whitelist less). Other than making the Personal Data Remover available in family plans, I don't have a single suggestion. Support is superb and functionality is the best on the market.

Simple software easy to use installs by itself little input to install . Scheduled scans work great and very minimal interference with conflicts of other software .

I have had Malwarebytes for several years and it has worked well and not bogged down my systems, like some other protection apps do. It has worked well to block malicious threats, on several occasions.

Many many years ago Nerds On Site came to fix my PC; he recommended Malwarebytes as the best anti-malware product. So I also installed it on my iPhone at the time. Years-long user of Malwarebytes. One word: awesome
I've been with Malwarebytes for years now. I started with the free software when it first came out. I had it on all my computers and installed it on friend's and family's. When they went to a subscription I was hesitant to pay another subscription, but it has been worth it.
It's simple to use and effective at keeping your system clean, as long as you stay away from sites that may circumvent its programming. Adding the VPN is also a bonus for an added layer of personal security.

With recent news about how unsafe public hotel Wi-Fi is, I decided to add VPN security to my Malwarebytes package. I had no idea how to add it, and the AI chat gave too much technical information. So I requested an online connection to a real person. I am used to Apple's phone support, but I worked through the issues first via live chat, then via email instructions, with the same representative. I am thinking of adding VPN security to my phone, and I would continue to use Malwarebytes.

You renewed my subscription on August 9th without my consent as I did not update my credit information with you as I did not want to renew my subscription. Somehow you obtained the new credit card information and debited my Visa. I contacted Visa, but before they get involved, I have to contact the merchant. I want you to credit my Visa card with the $101.90 that you charged to it on August 9th. What you did, in my opinion is fraud.

I've had Malwarebytes since the old days of free software but two years ago I upgraded to the paid version and I have been very happy with it. They send regular newsletters educating the customer about the latest scams and threats. Usually, when I double check my phone or laptop the fix has already been applied...but not always. For that alone, it is worth the price. Unlike Norton 360, they do not try to upsell me every week with scare tactics. I trust Malwarebytes and the writers there.
