What people say

Home was in a trust

Home was in a trust. Had to remove it from trust to move forward and provide proof that it was removed from the trust at a personal cost of nearly $600? And later in the process, we were asked for the paperwork that placed it in a trust? Also instead of getting the equity cash deposited into our account to pay off some items personally we were sent checks with explicit instructions on how to pay off our debt. Other than that it was okay.

Brandon

When I was put in touch with Brandon he explained the process to refinancing our house. Providing documents from our lives was a painless process. Brandon made sure that we understood why we doing what we were. There was consistent communication from Brandon. He talked to us the equity in our house and how it could be used. We chose to pay bills. Getting money back didn't make much sense. Being out of debt made the best sense. That's the direction we took and couldn't be happier with the decision.

Poor Communication and Coordination with Third Party Providers

There was poor communication and coordination with third party vendors responsible for termite inspection; appraisal and closing scheduling. 1. When the termite inspection was completed the vendor required $145.00 payment. The expectation was there would be no cash out of pocket. We paid this and advised the NewDay processor. He stated the cash out would be increased as reimbursement for the payment. This results in interest being charged over the life of the loan and not a true reimbursement. In addition to reflecting as $230.00 for the inspection in lieu of $145.00 2. The most unsettling part of this process was the appraiser used the incorrect legal description on the final appraisal report. This was not identified for at least one week when the docs went to underwriting and delayed setting the closing date for almost two weeks. Several phone calls were made to the processor and we were advised the appraiser was not responding to phone nor email messages. The processor advised the situation "was escalated to VA" but there was no resolution nor alternatives offered. It was not until I checked my phone logs and discovered the appraiser had called from a different number from what was provided when scheduling the appraisal. I passed the number to the processor and was advised they did not have this on the appraiser's profile. The legal information was updated and the loan process was able to move forward. 3. Lastly there was poor communication with scheduling the closing. On Friday, 4/17/26 we scheduled the closing for Wednesday, 4/22/26 at 9:00 AM. The processor advised he would contact us on Saturday, 4/18/26 with what to expect. We did not hear from the processor and followed up on Tuesday, 9/21/26. We were advised there was a miscommunication and finally closed Wednesday at 12:30PM. Overall, I am dissatisfied with this experience.
