Optima Tax Relief charged $495 to only read off tax transcripts. They promised an investigation and a negotiation during the Phase 1 process. When I recieved a call from the tax lawyer he charges me $5000 for the service to reduce $10,000 debt. When I explain your charges would be over the amount after you negotiate. I'll be paying more than what is owed. The lawyer charged me $95 to read tax transcripts

If I could leave a zero star review I would, i paid 500.00 to start and the cost to attempt to fix my issue was gonna cost 7000.00 i feel they took advantage of me took my 500.00 knowing there is no way in hell someone could give 7k to hire them so they just keep your 500.. robbery absolute gangsters

I'm a disabled woman of 66 years, they knew that going in their predatory sales tactics indicated that I could have a much larger debt text liability than when they actually Did my 3 years of back taxes?I only ended up owing 1600.00. I paid them $2600.00, for their services. Three weeks ago I received a letter indicating that they were going to sever our relationship and that they felt that they had performed a gallant service for me and that we should part on good standing. Optimitax relief offered me a $700 refund for services not rendered, I can assume they read I gave them a review, an honest review in the Better Business Bureau, OTR then reneged, and now they are indicating that I have to withdraw my Better Business Bureau review in order to get the $700.
Please don't be blinded by their staff. There are no tax professionals. You will not be able to talk to a tax attorney, you will be tossed around head count, I went through 5 different CSR representatives in 2 years. I have filed formal complaints with the IRS have provided them with forensic evidence of the calls I received when I was recording them.I also sent them all of the emails, indicating that they were in constant contact with the I.R.S which they were not. There is nothing criminal in their actions.Other than the fact that I can file the complaint. If you're reading this , then please do yourself a justice , reach out review stop allowing this predatory behavior... I am currently joining as many class action as possible and we'll continue to do so to fight for people like me who don't get taken advantage of because they got sick..

I hired Optima for a back taxes issue in 2023 - paid 300 for an "investigation" (of what?)and 20k for "comprehensive services". They were super slow and did not even conduct basic measures to protect us from pending IRS action. I wrote a one-star review in May 2026 which doesn't seem to be here- Optima replied the same way as they do to all of these - "we hear you", "we strive for...", even saying they would have someone review my case. No response and they plan to keep my 20k until I sue them or write the AG, which is my next step. Had to hire someone else and it got resolved at a fraction of their price, and quickly.
