It repeatedly stops recording heart rate for many hours at a time, day and night. These are not momentary dropouts — they are multi-hour gaps. On many nights the ring records no heart rate whatsoever, leaving only a flat, dotted line by morning.
I have already carried out every troubleshooting step you recommend, repeatedly and over
A product sold for continuous heart-rate and health monitoring that is blind for hours at a time, and blank on some nights entirely, is unfit for its intended purpose
I was impressed with customer service. I wasn’t sure what to expect when my ring started losing its charge so quickly, but they offered to replace it. I received the replacement ring within days!
I’ve been an ŌURA user for 2 years now, and my Gen 3 charger was no longer functional. After reaching out to the ŌURA Member Care Team, I was gifted an upgrade to the Gen 4, since the Gen 3 is no longer produced. I wasn’t expecting an upgrade at all, but I’m very thankful. I received my Gen 4 within two days and have been enjoying it. Thanks, ŌURA!
Sharing this for other buyers, especially those outside the US.
My Oura Ring 5 developed a battery issue within the first couple of weeks, draining far faster than the advertised 6-9 days — even after turning off Blood Oxygen Sensing and completing two full calibration cycles. Support confirmed it was a hardware defect and processed a replacement.
Customer service (Jonah, Member Care) was responsive and professional throughout.
Two things international buyers should know:
1. Oura cannot currently ship warranty replacements directly to some countries, including Brazil. I had to arrange an alternate US address through a family member, adding significant delay.
2. Replacements may be refurbished/factory-reset units, not new ones, even when the original had a hardware defect.
I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get in touch immediately, but when I scheduled a call for the next day, they called me promptly as promised and even called twice because I missed the first one. They were incredibly polite and assisted me in locating my receipt and ensuring it was sent to the correct email address. I highly recommend using the Oura Ring, and their customer service is on point.
Premium-priced product, catastrophically poor service
My experience with Oura has been dreadful from beginning to end.
My first Oura Ring failed to charge. I spent hours troubleshooting with Oura and was incorrectly told that the charger was faulty. A replacement charger was supposedly dispatched but never arrived, so I eventually bought another ring myself. When that arrived, the original ring still would not charge on the new charger, confirming that the ring itself had been faulty all along.
Returning it then became another ordeal. It took six attempts to arrange a DHL collection, none of which materialised. I eventually had to send the parcel via UPS to DHL, which is as ridiculous as it sounds. The refund took approximately two months.
Unfortunately, the replacement ring has been little better. It became badly scratched remarkably quickly, while the step tracking was nowhere near accurate and I also had serious doubts about the reliability of the sleep data. For a premium-priced health tracker with an ongoing subscription, I simply do not believe the product is ready or robust enough.
When I asked to return it, Oura initially refused because I was a few weeks outside the standard return window. This was despite the history of the defective first ring, the hours already wasted, the failed collections and the delayed refund. I then had to go through repeated chats and emails, explain the entire chronology several times and deal with multiple support cases before Oura finally approved an exception.
Even that has not resolved matters. Oura told me that DHL had arranged a collection, but the booking reference, waybill number and return authorisation details are not recognised by DHL’s system. DHL says no collection has been arranged, while Oura continues to tell me that it has. I am now going around exactly the same circle that caused weeks of frustration with the first return.
The individual support agents are generally polite, but that is not the same as providing effective customer service. The entire operation feels fragmented, scripted and incapable of taking ownership. Each contact produces another apology, another set of instructions or another case number, but very little actually happens.
Oura markets itself as a premium technology and wellness brand. The product quality, fulfilment and after-sales service I have experienced are anything but premium. I have now wasted an extraordinary amount of time dealing with two rings and two dysfunctional return processes.
I am currently still waiting for Oura to provide a return method that actually works and to complete my refund. Based on my experience, I could not recommend either the product or the company.
Contacting customer service is not an activity I look forward to. I’m always ready to be patronized, misunderstood, or at least frustrated.
Not the case when I contacted Oura about my barely a year old Oura Ring 4. I was believed and my expensive ring was easily replaced. Thank you for an excellent experience. Praying this o e lasts!
Buyer Beware!! Do not buy unless you want to pay $5.99/month to see any actual data!
The ring/app should provide access to the data for free. Worthless without the data and absolutely lame to force a paid subscription. It should say clearly that you won’t get any data unless you pay. I wouldn’t have wasted my money or time on it if it had advertised this. The lack of transparency on the total cost to see your data feels like a scam.
I had an issue with my OURA ring and I contacted customer service and they resolved my issue quickly and effectively. Great service and fast resolution. Get you an OURA ring today.
Be aware of Oura’s delivery service before ordering.
I ordered an Oura Ring for delivery to Malta, which is officially listed by Oura as a supported delivery country. Their delivery company subsequently marked my address as “undeliverable” and my order was cancelled.(2 weeks after placing the order and only after I reached out to customer support)
This is a normal residential address where I regularly receive online orders and courier deliveries without difficulty.
Oura’s solution was to ask me to place a new order and try using a different address. However, they could not guarantee that the exact same delivery problem wouldn’t happen again.
That’s particularly disappointing because I genuinely wanted the Oura Ring and chose it over the alternatives. The product itself may be good (I don’t know I haven’t had the opportunity to know), but the delivery experience has made it impossible for me to actually become a customer.
A premium product needs a reliable delivery service and, when a courier fails to deliver to a valid address, the solution shouldn’t simply be asking the customer to reorder and find another address.
Very disappointing Oura customer service — documented experience
I have been an Oura customer and expected customer service to match the premium positioning and price of the product. Unfortunately, our recent experience was extremely disappointing.
This review is based on my documented email correspondence with Oura regarding Order SO-12632532 and support requests #7518171 and #7708073.
My wife needed assistance with her Oura Ring and eventually decided to return it. What should have been a straightforward return became weeks of unnecessary back-and-forth communication.
24–30 July 2026 — repeated requests for information
The support conversation was already ongoing by 24 July. During the following days, Oura repeatedly requested individual pieces of information instead of collecting everything required at once.
I supplied the order number SO-12632532 on 27 July and confirmed the ring details — size 10 — on 28 July.
On 29 July, I specifically asked Oura to request everything they needed at once because the pattern had become: ask for one piece of information, wait, then ask for something else.
On 30 July, after another request, I wrote that I was providing the same information for the sixth time and even included a screenshot of the previous correspondence.
30–31 July — finally some progress
Karen from Oura then provided a much more useful response. I actually thanked her on 31 July, saying that the communication finally started to make sense. I mention this because I want this review to be fair: some individual Oura representatives were helpful. The main problem appears to be the support process and lack of continuity between agents.
1 August — still no return label
On 1 August, I had to contact Oura again because we still had not received the return label. I explicitly explained that we did not want to cancel the membership—we simply needed the return label.
3 August — DHL return finally arranged
Oura subsequently arranged the DHL Express return. The return instructions included DHL booking reference PRG260804727916.
14 August — still chasing the refund
After completing the return process, I contacted Oura again on 14 August asking when the refund would be processed.
Oura then updated the case under request #7708073, and on 15 August I provided the DHL tracking/reference information requested.
So this is not simply a complaint about one slow response. It is a documented sequence lasting several weeks involving repeated requests for information already supplied, multiple follow-ups from the customer, problems obtaining the return label, and then further follow-up regarding the refund.
For a premium product and subscription service, this is not the level of customer support I expected.
A customer should be able to explain the problem once, provide the necessary information once, and have one support process take ownership of the case until it is resolved.
Oura makes an impressive product, but based on this experience, its customer-service process needs serious improvement.
I had already placed an order to replace my current oura ring, as the battery life started depleting within hours of it being fully charged.
After Oura confirmed that there was an issue with my current ring, they ordered me $100 refund from my recent purchase. They were quick and easy to work with!
