Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers praise the website for being extremely intuitive and easy to navigate when searching for local pet sitters to care for their beloved animals. Reviewers frequently state that the staff and sitters provide exceptional care, keeping owners completely informed by sending regular photo and video updates throughout the entire booking. Some reviewers were not happy with unexpected account deactivations occurring after contacting customer support with questions about their status. A few people also mentioned serious concerns regarding high commission fees and restrictive booking terms imposed on active users.

It was easy to use, and the Aimee was lovely. I was sent live pics of my 2 cats and I could see they where getting well looked after. I will use the site again and Aimee.
All goes well until it doesn't and in that case communication by e mail or their site is slow and incomplete. Not the dogs problem, but not mine either. They weren't interested in my complaint and the owner got a full refund which is just not fair and against their cancellation policy if I understood it correctly. Disappointing experience.
We used Pawshake for the first time and the wonderful Bethany came to stay and look after our senior dog with medical issues. Bethany was fantastic and our dog Teddy took to her really well. She provided regular photos and updates on their time together and left the house fantastically clean and tidy. Teddy was happy and relaxed on our return, as if we hadn’t been away. I would highly recommend this business and Bethany in particular.
Our experience of using pawshake has been very positive it was easy to find a list of local dog boarders with reviews on most of them , we chose joan because her reviews were good messaged her and visited her and we're happy to leave monty in her care , while we were away joan kept us up to date with images and messages in fact hes going for a second stay next week. Payment was easy and its easy to navigate the sight and message overall very happy

The company is well trusted for pet sitting needs. I would highly recommend this company. Excellent service
We had the best sitter look after our beautiful dog who is a very special member of our family. From our pre meeting to the day we picked up our boy Sheena was excellent. We really appreciated the daily updates and knew that he was been taken care of exceptionally well. Pawshake was recommended to us and we would recommend the service to others.
I do not recommend using this website I got two different sitters No reliable at all. Quite disturbing experience
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. What you’ve described — having two different sitters and not receiving a reliable service — is understandably upsetting, and it’s not the experience we want anyone to have on Pawshake. Feedback like this is taken very seriously, particularly where it impacts trust and confidence in a booking. We’ve already requested your booking details so we can follow this up properly with the sitters involved and understand exactly what happened. In the meantime, please do reach out to our Help Centre so our team can investigate this further and support you directly. We’d really like the opportunity to look into this properly and ensure it is addressed. Kind regards, Pawshake Support
PAWSHAKE: people register as dogsitter but they "do not know yet in April what they do this summer" they are not organized, you waste your time contacting them because their calendar says they are available but truth is they do not update it. So I did contact 4 people and the 4 dogsitters (either dont reply or had to refuse because they dont know their own plans this summer) What a joke. We are in April, we need to make sure our pets have a place before booking anything else. GO TO PETNB.NL : they are organized and available at the most busiest period of the year. I was surprised that some of them are students, do this to get an extra money but turned off an amount of 400 euros for 2 weeks, just because "they don't know their summer plan yet" this platform should make a better filter of who is allowed to be a dogsitter.
Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to secure care in advance, especially during busy holiday periods. Pawshake works a little differently from traditional boarding businesses — our sitters are independent pet care providers who set their own availability, pricing, and schedules. While many keep their calendars up to date, some may still be confirming their personal plans, particularly several months ahead of peak seasons. That said, sitters are expected to respond promptly and keep their availability as accurate as possible. A couple of tips that can help: Reach out to a few sitters at once to increase your chances of securing a booking quickly Look for sitters with recent reviews and high response rates Consider expanding your search radius slightly, as availability can vary by area. We also want to note that promoting other platforms within reviews isn’t appropriate and may be moderated in line with our review guidelines. It is against Trust Pilots guidelines. If you’d like, we’d be happy to help you find available sitters in your area — just let us know your dates and location. Best regards, Pawshake Support
As a sitter for Pawshake my experience have been absolutely horrible. I accepted a sitting for a very sweet cat- in a hoarding environment (not knowing)- in a very sketchy area. When I realized this I wrote their service asking them to help me find a new sitter, to which they were rude and basically told me to figure it out myself and that I was being unprofessional. They also take 20% of the price you're supposed to make, for what? Horrible app and customer service? Not only this, but it is VERY easy to sign up and be accepted as a sitter- as well as a pet owner, potentially creating unsafe situations. And then they have the audacity to keep contacting a sitter when we don't respond IMMIEDATELY to a request for sitting- when 90% of the time the pet owner writes you and you respond, they never get back to you anyways. They de-activate your account for the smallest reasons.. except when you try to report an owner/sitter. And it sure looks like they somehow get bad reviews taken down from both google and trust pilot.. cause i've read and heard about worse experiences
Thanks for sharing your feedback. From a customer perspective, it’s important to clarify a few key points about how Pawshake is designed to work, as several of the concerns raised stem from not following the platform’s booking process. Pawshake is a platform that connects pet owners with independent sitters. While sitters operate their own services, they are expected to follow clear guidelines designed to ensure safety and reliability for both parties. One of the most important requirements is that a meet & greet should take place before accepting any booking. This step exists specifically to avoid situations like the one described — where either party later feels uncomfortable with the arrangement. Accepting a booking without first meeting the owner and pet is against recommended practice and significantly increases the risk of cancellation and dissatisfaction on both sides. If a sitter later chooses to cancel after accepting a booking due to concerns about the environment, this indicates that the due diligence step (the meet & greet) was not completed properly beforehand. In that case, the resulting disruption to the owner’s plans is understandably frustrating and not the experience we aim to provide. Regarding response times: Pawshake does encourage timely communication, as this is a service-based platform where owners rely on quick coordination for their pets’ care. Profiles with consistently slow responses may become less visible, as reliability is a key factor in matching. As a service provider, there are standards of communication that most owners would reasonably expect, including timely responses to enquiries within 24 hours. On fees, Pawshake takes a service commission (currently 19%) which supports platform operations including payment processing, customer support, veterinary coverage for bookings, and maintaining the marketplace infrastructure. We also want to be clear that sitters are expected to treat all clients respectfully and professionally, regardless of personal impressions of a home or environment. Judgements about an owner’s living situation are not appropriate grounds for cancelling a confirmed booking without prior communication and proper process. Finally, claims regarding review removals or manipulation are incorrect — reviews are moderated only in line with Trust Pilot's guidelines around content and accuracy. Kind regards, Pawshake Support
Had the best experience with Pawshake from Calliope. Highly recommend
The websites informative and there are a range of sitters available depending on need

It was good meeting with Jane prior to our going away. Jane provided us with constant updates and pictures of our cat (something we didn't expect to happen). We felt our cat was in good hands and would definitely request Jane another time. Ruth van Welie

Really struggling to use their website help feature. I’ve submitted the request form 3 times and each time it gives me an error.
Hi Thuria, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, and sorry to hear you’ve had trouble with the help form. We’ve had our IT team test the submission process across Web (1) + (2), iOS (3) + (4), and Android (5) + (6), and everything appears to be working as expected on our side. That said, issues like this can sometimes be caused by browser cache, cookies, or a temporary connection error. We’d recommend trying the following if you experience it again: Refreshing the page or trying a different browser Clearing cache and cookies Using the mobile app instead of web (or vice versa) If it still doesn’t work after that, please let us know and we’ll be happy to look into it further with you directly. Kind regards, Pawshake Support
All the pictures sent and my dog came home happy and healthy
Absolutely perfect. Dogs loved Julie, weren't really over excited when we picked them up. Quite sure they would have been happy to stay. Julie was so good that the dogs didn't miss us
