I have been using pixelfilmstudio for several years and am very satisfied overall. Some applications seem a little complicated to use, but overall I am very happy with the products. After updating my operating system, none of the plugins would work anymore. It was scary. Customer service responded by email within a few hours and helped me with clear and targeted instructions to get the problem under control. The solution ultimately took 10 minutes and everything is working again. Communication by email works exceptionally well, the employee on the other end was very friendly, and the problem was solved much faster than with many other service providers. Exemplary. I've been a client for over 8 years and this company has supported me as my business ebbs and flows from weddings (at first), to business projects, and now podcasting. Not only they have what seems to be an infinite library of options, but their customer service is top notch. Recently I had an issue logging in and someone from their team pulled a magic trick and assisted me. The plug ins the site has seemed great at first until you realize it eats up a minimum of 45 gb of ram at any given time, and often leaks so that even after Final Cut is closed, it keeps using that much ram. They have some decent plug ins but unless you have 128gb plus on your Mac and don’t mind constantly quitting it after every session, just find another plug in service that isn’t subscription based with their complicated secondary app

We're sorry to hear about the high RAM usage and any perceived memory leaks you're seeing with our plugins in Final Cut Pro. Our effects (especially complex ones with heavy processing like particles, lighting, or overlays) can be resource-intensive, and we've seen similar reports tied to specific setups, large projects, or older versions. That said, 45GB+ sustained usage and post-quit leaks aren't typical or expected behavior on our end—we recommend at least 16-32GB RAM for smooth performance (more for 4K+ or multi-effect stacks), and we have optimization tips on our site (like closing unused apps, using optimized media, or checking for updates via our installer).
The secondary app (our manager/installer) is there to simplify updates and licensing, but we understand if it feels complicated—we're always refining that. We're not strictly subscription-only; many products are one-time purchases too.

I am seriously BLOWN AWAY by the support I've received from Pixel Support!!!
But first, I have to say, I already deeply appreciated the company for its
seriously fabulous plug-ins and effects!
But this last video I created was giving me *gnarly* problems in the
attempt to export! (Note the word *attempt!*)
I spent HOURS on the phone with Apple Support...four long long calls, with
three different techs there. We tried what I thought must've been
*everything!*
Turns out - not so much.
After a long communication back-and-forth with Pixel Tech Support, by
email, with lots of suggestions, I'd given up. Seriously. I started to
re-create the video without the groovy effects. But then I got one last
email suggesting we get on the phone together so they could walk me through
every little thing they could possibly think of.
And, voila! A solution! And now, this evening, after doing the steps to
alter the whole thing in the manner I was shown, I have my video! The
original one I was so *thrilled* to have created!

It's a scam. Bought a plugin. Paid my money. You cant download the plugin from te website though! You have to download an app, which guess what doesnt work. Support? Thats a chat bot that thinks the latest Mac OS is 11. Try emailing the company. NO REPLY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Colin helped me step by step to install FCPX Luts app, as I had issues with red screen. He was super helpful, clear, and fixed the problems one by one - he had a lot of patience as I am not so techie. Amazing!

I had recently upgraded my Mac OS and Final Cut Pro and experienced the “Red Screen” issue where a PixelFilmStudios plugin wasn’t liking something about the change. Contacted PFS support who sent me an answer within a minute. I followed the clear instructions and was back up and running in less than 5 minutes. I had anticipated a much harder, time-consuming process but this was fast —and it worked.

I had problem with one of their plugins… but they stopped answering...
I had problem with one of their plugins (Lut loader). At first they were helpful trying to resolve the issue, but after few suggestions they literally stopped answering. The communication between us in the open case stayed one way. I emailed them to see if they figured something out, because they promised to check with the developers for solution. It's already 3 months without answer and a few one way emails from me to the support.

Super great customer service! When the plugin I was using didn't work they were more than willing to not only refund me the cost of the plugin with NO HASSLE but they also offered me time with a developer and a screen share to help figure out the problem.
So, what was originally a bad experience turned out to be a GREAT experience. The problem was solved and I'm happily using my new plugin!

I've been using PFS plugins, effects and transitions for over ten years now. Love their creativity and it saves me a lot of time. Offcourse now and then after an update from fcpx there is some action needed, but the support from the Pixel Film Studios Support is good and fast. Please keep on continuing the good work!

I have already purchased many softwares, and most of them served in my profession.
The after-sales service is very good because I have already had problems following updates of Final Cut, and a solution has always been found.
The software could be a little more intuitive to use, but for the price it's very nice.

I purchased a plugin called „brush glow“ and it doesn’t work with FCPXI. I contacted them the same day (8 days ago) and I only got an automated answer with a link to a so called „awesome ticket“. In there i understood that they are aware about this issue, but don’t mention it on there product site. That would make everybody’s life much easier. They also say they are working on it and the customers need to check there website for updates, instead of getting informed from them. Till today no response from them.

After an initial delay in getting a support response, the team did eventually get back to me and helped me on the spot! - After being unable to get the plugin working after the FCPX update, they called me in the UK and took over my computer screen and were able to diagnose and fix the problem. I honestly am so grateful for what they did for me tonight at a moments notice. Really pleased as the problem was a tricky one to solve and couldn’t have for it myself.

I’ve been using FCPX Stabilizer 2.0, and it’s been a game-changer! It works pretty well most of the time. You can stabilize your footage with just one click, and the process is super fast.
I’ve had a couple of issues with the plugin
Sometimes, if I add the wrong effects, like the 4K plugin to a 1080p footage, it shows an error message. In that case, I just close the FCP and reopen the app. Another issue I’ve run into is that when a new update for FCP is released, sometimes the plugin doesn’t work. I contacted the customer care team about this, and they said they’re launching an update for the plugin.
Overall, I am happy with the plugins. If any issues happen, customer care is there for support, which is a good positive.
