Anthony did a great job addressing all of my questions and helping me get set up with the perfect server. My server was activated instantly after I ordered, and I am already up and running. I def would not hesitate to recommend RackNerd for anyone looking to get a VPS!
It was definitely way better than I expected.
I thought their deals would provide a shitty VPS, but that was not the case.
Good performance, great networking infra, and great responsive helpful support.
Will keep doing business with you.
I’ve been using Racknerd VPS’s for quite some time now and have never encountered an issue. Their pricing is also some of the best I’ve found. On the rare occasion that I needed some help, their customer service was quick to respond and very willing to help. They are pretty underrated IMO and I have purchased a few more VPS instances based on my overall experience.
Support that solves the problem instead of pointing at the boundary
We have run production servers with RackNerd since early 2024, and the support is the reason we stayed.
A short list of what they have actually helped us with: setting up rDNS PTR records and the SMTP banner so our mail was accepted properly, tracking down why MariaDB would not accept external connections, fixing a missing MX PTR record, sorting out a run of failing OS updates, getting a Docker container serving on port 443 for a subdomain, and walking us through an Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade. Several of those sit well past the point where most hosts stop and say "unmanaged, out of scope".
Response time matters as much as the answer. When our webserver went down, we had help before 5am. When we hit a misdirected 443 request at nearly 1am, same thing. That is the difference between a bad night and a bad week.
Most recently we needed to restart a server outside their hours. Instead of simply doing it for us, Anthony Fye pointed us at the TenantOS API and its control panel, and we ran a supervised reboot ourselves the same day. We now handle power and console at any hour without waking anyone up.
That is the through line. Anthony does not just close the ticket, he removes the need for the next one. Infrastructure you can operate yourself is worth more than infrastructure someone operates for you, and RackNerd clearly understands that.
DMCA report = Service Disconnected
Only if you ask what happened to your server, they will say: you have been found guilty, your services disconnected ... "now... probe your innocence".
Avoid if you site can REMOTELY get a DMCA complain.
They will absolutely believe your competitor spamming fake/bogus DMCA requests. Even if you clearly have DMCA email address that you read and honor.

Hello! Thank You for allowing us the opportunity to be your provider.
We aim to be fair and transparent with our customers in every situation. Like every provider operating within the US, we're bound by defined obligations when a formal notice is received, which is handled on a case by case basis, but that never means a customer is left without recourse or a path forward.
We're unable to identify the account tied to this review as posted, so please reach out to us at bizdev[@]racknerd[.]com with your ticket ID or account details, and we'll gladly look into this further with the full context in hand.
The KVM Special VPS price was absolutely awesome. Bagged one for around 11USD. The VPS had no issues whatsoever and their support team was quick and resolved the issue in less than 3 hours.
I don't think I've ever seen a company with so low prices and quicker support times.
I recently bought a VPS from RackNerd (the 2GB KVM promo for 35.99$ a year - amazing price for what you get) and contacted their support to change the PTR record (rDNS) to which they did within 10 minutes! Also another amazing feature of this host is that they don't block port 25 - which is somewhat rare for providers who are actually legit.
So far, I would 100% reccomend this service to others looking to get a bang for their buck :)
An excellent company where employees think along with you in a good and serious manner, and understand what you want and mean. When employees cannot figure something out, they admit it honestly and involve another colleague; for this reason, I have had particularly excellent experiences with Anthony, who thinks in terms of solutions, shows flexibility, and holds customer service in high regard.
Unfortunately, a solution to the problem I encountered was not found very easily, but if something cannot be resolved quickly or adequately, they honestly admit this as well.
Total incompetence and lack of reading comprehension: loss of 2 years of data
Stay away from this provider if you value your data. The absolute negligence of their support team and their inability to read a simple ticket led to the deletion of my server and the loss of two years of work.
I accidentally requested a cancellation for the wrong server, and within minutes, I replied to the ticket clearly stating it was a mistake and providing the correct IP address to be cancelled. However, support staff ignored my specific instructions and instead of stopping the process, they sent a generic template asking for a "confirmation" that I had already provided in the previous message.
They then imposed a 24-hour deadline to respond to this redundant email, which happened to fall on a public holiday. Because I did not "re-confirm" for a third time during a holiday, they wiped my server completely. When I complained, their operations team had the audacity to say that the situation was not entirely on their end and that I should be monitoring tickets 24/7 regardless of holidays.
They do not care about your data and they do not read your tickets. They hide behind automated scripts and templates to cover up their staff's incompetence. If you make a tiny human error, they will use it to destroy your work instead of reading a two-line explanation. Avoid at all costs.

Thank You for taking the time to share your experience.
The name attached to this review is quite generic ("web"), so we haven't been able to locate a matching account on our end just yet, so we can only comment based on what's been shared here. We do want to clarify that cancellations are entirely customer-initiated on our end -- they aren't something our team starts on its own. When a cancellation is requested, our process is built to confirm intent before anything irreversible takes place. That confirmation exists as a safeguard for the customer, not as a hurdle.
We'd sincerely like to look into the full picture here, since we're only working off what's been described so far, and have not been able to find an actual RackNerd account based on the information on your Trustpilot profile. Please reach out to us directly via email at bizdev[@]racknerd[.]com and we'll take a closer look. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Working with RackNerd was a seamless experience. Despite technical complexity, their team hit the mark immediately with speed and precision. After identifying the path forward, they finished the work perfectly. I requested specific updates for my environment and they were proactive throughout the process. If you want reliability, accountability, and delivery of what you pay for, look no further.
RackNerd is amazing. I've been using RackNerd for web hosting and VPS for many years. Their hosting is very affordable and feature-packed (cPanel) so that I configure my website exactly the way I want. I never had any problems with them in all these years. Keep up the good work! (I wrote this review voluntarily, just because I'm happy with their services)
Terrible for China Mobile usersTerrible for China Mobile users - IP blocked and No Refund
They sold me a server that cannot even download packages via VNC. Support is useless.
Reply from RackNerd2026-02-20
Hello,
SSH is the recommended primary method of accessing and managing your VPS -- VNC is really intended for out-of-band access, such as installing a custom OS, recovering from a misconfigured firewall, or regaining access if you've locked yourself out of SSH (such as if you misconfigured your sshd configuration file). A VNC console is a direct connection into your server's display -- it is not intended as a means to download packages, nor does connectivity within VNC reflect anything related to our network or service delivery.
From what you're describing, this sounds like it could be a DNS misconfiguration issue within your OS level. Could you check what your /etc/resolv.conf file contains? Try updating that to nameserver 8.8.8.8 and nameserver 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS) and see if that resolves the issue.
By the way, we weren't able to locate an account or ticket under the name associated with this review. It's possible the ticket may not have included sufficient details for our team to diagnose and assist effectively. Please feel free to share your ticket ID here, or reach out again with more specifics, so we can take a closer look.
P.S. You mentioned being a China Mobile user -- generally customers from China tend to prefer our west coast datacenter locations due to lower physical distance and better latency as a result. If your VPS is not already in one of our US-West datacenter locations, feel free to open a ticket with our support team and request a migration to one of our California locations, and we'd be happy to assist with that.
I used to love racknerd for the pricing and simplicity, untill the server hangs after trying to copy files to another folder, and then a reboot through racknerds UI makes the server inaccessible and support says I have to reset the server including all data in order for it to work again. Never again

Hello,
We went through tickets received today and don't see an experience matching what you're describing here. Your name "Cc" on Trustpilot also makes it difficult for us to associate this review with an actual ticket or account.
You mentioned the server became inaccessible after a reboot, but all VPS customers have full access to the HTML5 VNC console via the SolusVM control panel, which allows you to see exactly what's happening during boot, even if network access is down or was misconfigured on the OS side. Did you try using VNC to see what error the server was throwing? There's also rescue mode available directly in your SolusVM control panel, which can help retrieve data and/or fix any misconfigurations on the OS side without having to reinstall. Here is a video on how to boot your VPS to rescue mode: https://youtu.be/oO61_EXiTOU

I've been with RackNerd for a few years now and honestly, it works. You get what they advertise. The specs are accurate, uptime is solid, and support actually responds when you need them.
Now when I say "support" I mean support according to what you're actually paying for. If you buy an unmanaged VPS and then expect them to troubleshoot your WordPress plugins or fix your broken Apache config, that's on you. There VPS services are unmanaged servers, meaning the provider helps maintain the hardware and network stuff on their end, which is exactly what they should be doing. If you need someone to hold your hand through software configuration, you're looking for a different type of service and shouldn't be on a cheap unmanaged VPS plan.
Scrolling through some of these negative reviews on here, at least half of them are people complaining about basic VPS stuff that anyone with Linux experience would understand is their own responsibility. 100% a skill issue. The other half (to me) read like AI generated spam, you can tell because they all follow the same weird pattern and use the same generic phrases (and lack of details/specifics)..
For the price point, you're getting a solid service. My VPS services runs fine, no surprise issues, and the network has been stable. That's really all there is to it.
By the way, nobody asked me to write this, I just figured its time and only fair to write about my actual experience, as I just happened to order another VPS service with them a few minutes ago.
okay so context: i was with another provider (won't name them right here but ill be writing a more detailed review about that disaster soon on trustpilot so follow me if you're interested in that saga) for like a year, everything was whatever until one day my VPS with them went down entirely and they went MIA. opened a ticket. then another one. then another. absolutely nothing back from them. we're talking over a week of just silence.
at this point i'm scrambling because i can't just sit there with everything offline waiting for them to maybe respond eventually. I started looking around for alternatives and racknerd kept popping up. honestly racknerd's pricing was even better than that other provider, but i figured whatever, let me at least ask some questions first. sent in a ticket expecting the usual multi-day wait.
got a response from racknerd in under 10 minutes (6 minutes to be exact). actually looked at the timstamps and calculated that, because i was shocked. for context, I work in business development so i get how the economics work on budget hosting - you can't really run proper support on $1/month VPS margins. but racknerd seems to have figured out the balance somehow, probably mixing enterprise customers/margins with the promo deals to actually staff their operation properly.
been here a few weeks now and in this short period of time, in my tickets I dealt with like 6 or 7 different support agents, all pretty responsive and helpful. it's actual reasonable turnaround times, which honestly feels like luxury after where i came from.
anyway, solid so far. ill update this review from time to time with updates as I do plan to order a few more VPS in the coming months.
I signed up for one of RackNerd’s Black Friday hosting deals near the end of last year, and I’ve been very happy with the service so far.
My uptime monitors in Uptime Robot have reported 100% uptime since. Although I’ve only been a customer for a couple of months, the experience has been excellent from day one. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend RackNerd to anyone looking for a reliable hosting provider.
What's wrong with RackNerd's network stability? Am I the only one experiencing these problems?
My Frustrating (and Useless) Experience with RackNerd: A Story of False Promises and Even Worse Service
I want to share my ongoing nightmare with RackNerd, in the hopes that no one else has to go through this same helpless cycle of frustration.
It all started with the abysmal network performance. The packet loss on my server's IP was consistently so high—often making it completely unusable for basic tasks. Websites timed out, connections dropped constantly, and any real work became impossible. I felt stuck with a product that simply didn't function as advertised.
Naturally, I reached out to support, hoping for a solution or, as a last resort, a refund. What I got instead was a brick wall of deflection. The support agent repeatedly insisted the problem was on my end, specifically with my local Internet Service Provider (ISP). They suggested it was my network at fault. However, I conducted tests from different networks and locations, and friends using other ISPs reported the same issues connecting to my server. The problem was clearly with RackNerd's infrastructure, not mine.
After multiple tickets and a lot of back-and-forth, I finally managed to push for a change—or so I thought. They "generously" offered to replace the problematic IP address. I was hopeful, if a little skeptical.
That hope was shattered in minutes. They assigned me a new IP that was even worse. This one wasn't just suffering from high packet loss; it was practically dead on arrival, rendering the server completely inaccessible. It felt like a cruel joke. They didn't fix the problem; they gave me a symbolic "solution" that amplified it.
Now, I'm left with a service I cannot use, trapped because a refund is apparently not an option, and stuck with a support narrative that refuses to acknowledge their own responsibility. I feel utterly powerless as a customer. I paid for a functional virtual server, but what I received was endless excuses and a service that has only degraded further through their "help."
This isn't just poor performance; it's a complete failure of customer support and technical competence. Consider this a serious warning before you trust them with your projects or business.

Hello -- we attempted to locate an account under your name but wasn't able to find one, and we're not currently aware of any widespread network issues across our infrastructure. The details in your review are quite generalized, which makes it difficult to investigate without more specifics.
If this review was intended for RackNerd and was not created under our Trustpilot profile by mistake, we would be more than happy to look into what happened. Could you please reach out to us at bizdev[@]racknerd[.]com with any relevant ticket IDs or account details? This would help us pull up the specifics of your case and understand what actually occurred. We're happy to investigate further.
The support I received from Anthony Fye was really helpful. He helped me a lot with the plan upgrade. It was not an easy plan to upgrade because sometimes bureaucracy in business is not helpful for clients, but he really made my life easier. Five-star support from him!
I’ve been using RackNerd for a while now and overall it’s been a smooth experience. Performance has been stable, uptime has been solid, and everything runs consistently without random issues.
