Buyers frequently mention finding fantastic bargains, accurate item descriptions, and remarkably smooth transactions that make purchasing musical gear both enjoyable and completely reliable. Account set up problems

Downloading app easy but setting up account problematic, I live in the UK but the app locked me into the USA as home country. My address was rejected despite numerous atempts to correct and this prevented payme t procedure being ser up, currancy was also locked into dollars, chat support offered little help on the matter so deleted account.

Need customer support and not receiving it.

Trying to sell a guitar. The process for verifying payment details is prohibitive and their customer support is non-existent when you have a technical issue that needs fixing before your can list your instrument for sale. I requested contact a week ago and they have not responded.

Trustworthy and professionalism

The order took place on July 30, 2026, and received on August 5, 2026, the instrument was just like their website described it. As I said I am not a musician, this was for personal use, I trusted their technicians, and from the beginning, they were concern about the security of my personal information, and they handled the whole transaction in professional way.

Scam alert

This is not a safe marketplace and you are at the risk of Reverb taking extra money from you. Reverb already has steep seller fees, and where they dip deeper is in the seller statements where they claim through UPS audits that you owe more money and then they charge your credit card; and this happens generally six weeks after the fact. Imagine this happening to thousands of sellers… a revenue stream. After multiple sells, I recognized something was amiss, so in using their shipping tools, I made sure of the weight and dimensions of the package and confirmed it at UPS prior to shipment, the next seller statement billing cycle they charged my credit card again. There is noway of contacting them by phone so all communication was completed through their chat system and email. Reverb has records of all transactions, yet I had to prove myself and give details of transaction. They were slow to resolve but offered me a credit to Reverb Wallet. Later that same day of an agreeable accommodation, I found my account deleted. Several days of chat and email conversations and they are still asking me for details the believe I don’t have, stating we cannot help you, and letting me know my previous account had been scrubbed from the system. My email account has held every last detail they now request from me, and I have provided everything they ask, yet no resolution. I was able to dispute the last credit card transaction! Reverb is price gouging its sellers which is very well known and accepted when doing business on their platform. What is incredibly shady and a scam are the additional charges when using their shipping label tool. Calling them out is why my account got scrubbed. If there’s a class action, count me in! 8/6/26 My response to Reverb telling me this issue is closed in email while they say here to reach out to them: “You people are quite remarkable at information requests that lead nowhere. As mentioned prior, I don’t trust Reverb and will only use the platform going forward for reference material, and I’ll not ever complete another transaction on Reverb. With great enthusiasm, I will gleefully share my story over and over on multiple review platforms. Yes, consider your inability to exhaust me through your queries in your spirit of finding accommodation over… I can keep on keepin on! Good luck with your Seller Statement additional shipping fee scam. I’m aware of it, and many others will become aware of your passive unchecked revenue stream as well. Later.” Reverb is the worst.

Reverb has very unfair and unethical…

Reverb has very unfair and unethical practices when it comes to their sellers. They will suspend your account without notice, shutting down your source of income forcing you to spend your whole day trying to comply to get your account restored. I've seen far too many scams and fake sellers, yet faithful sellers get policed and punished. I can't think of anyone who has a good thing to say about Reverb. Now I know why. Update: 8-10-26. I stand by my comment above. I was using a watermark on my photos which had my legitimate website’s address. Without any warning, Reverb suspended all my listings (around 40 or so). This makes me look really bad to my followers, and clients, as a trusted seller; if a whole account is suspended they may get the impression I’m doing some kind of fraud. What would have been far better was if Reverb, reached out and informed me of the violation, and gave me a deadline before they suspended my whole account. I depend on the sales to support my family, and had to spend the whole day rushing to correct every photos in my listings, this was by no means an easy lift on the fly. I have no confidence they will listen, and sadly do not understand why most people have very little good to say about Reverb. For me I’m dammed if I do, dammed if I don’t, so I have no option but to comply. From what I understand the Etsy accusation sucked the life out of Reverb. You can give your PC replies, but I strongly suggest you review your policy’s and conduct a survey from your sellers.

Item not Received and Reverb not refunding my Money

I purchased a used fender reverb guitar pedal from a seller in the Nederlands on 19 July with the seller saying they shipped the item on 21 July and adding a nonsense tracking number on the reverb platform. Neither the Dutch or Polish post where it was supposed to head recognise the tracking number. I escalated to Reverb that I have not received the item after 2 weeks and that the tracking details show nothing and their customer service appears to be on a different planet (they often take days to reply, their customer service agent said he was off and then sick after not replying for days??, some of their replies have part of the sentences missing, and they have stated I need to return the item for my refund even though I have received nothing which was more than clearly articulated???). Out of frustration, I have now raised an item not received chargeback with my Bank Card issuer. I am now awaiting an update from my Bank on the status of my dispute as their last update today was they had reached out to Reverb informally but Reverb have so far not consented to refund my money. The Bank stated they have now opted to raise a formal chargeback dispute request through VISA :( Reverb states they have a Buyer Portection policy which appears to be absolute nonsense. I have bought and sold high end items on Reverb as I would highly recommend for Buyers to BEWARE!!!

Honestly

Honestly, I’d give it ten stars if I could. Looking back, it’s been almost 10 years since I started using Reverb. Reverb has definitely expanded my musical world and opened up new possibilities for me. That includes not just gear, but also the people I’ve met. I’m a musician based in Japan, and the reality is that of all the instruments and gear in the world, only a very limited selection makes its way here. Users who aren’t familiar with the scene might be under the illusion that what’s available here is everything, but in reality, it’s just a tiny fraction. Reverb made me realize this and gave me the opportunity to find and acquire a lot of the gear I truly wanted. I’m truly grateful. If there’s one downside, it’s that I’ve spent a lot of money.

Customer Support Failure to Deal With Scams

I bought a mixer that was sold as Mint and recently serviced but it stopped working as soon a I plugged it in. The seller agreed to pay for the repair but soon after that repair something else stopped working. There was clearly something thouroughly wrong with the mixer beyond the small, easy fix that the seller suggested. Reverb customer service simply could not understand the issue and repeatedly told me that the repair of the mixer has been paid for and that was that. I will end up paying 800 Euros for a 400 Euros mixer and reverb support still refuse to deal with this. There are so many 5 star reviews just because buyers are happy with their new purple guitar but the real test is how Reverb handle scams, and they really failed here.

Horrendous since bought by investment firm

Horrendous since bought by faceless investment firms Creator Partners and Servco. Need help? Here's a useless CHAT BOT that can't address your needs. Got ripped off? Here's a useless CHAT BOT to tell you to wait a little longer. Need to block an abusive user? Useless CHAT BOT cannot help you. Enjoy your higher prices for both sellers and buyers, and shamefully dishonest feedback system that lets deadbeats and con artists escape any consequences. Enjoy being overcharged for shipping. Enjoy having your shipping charges TAXED. Enjoy having your shipping charges used in the % they take from your sales. Every single dirty trick in the book, Reverb will use it. So, typical to the way most great companies get far worse after being swallowed by a larger, garbage-quality, shareholder-driven company, Reverb has fallen.

Reverb is an awesome site for…

Reverb is an awesome site for buying/selling musical gear. I recently purchased a high end Taylor acoustic guitar on the site. Reverb managed the transaction perfectly. The gear was accurately photographed and described on the site, I made an offer which was immediately accepted and I paid for the guitar using Apple Pay. The gear was immediately shipped as promised and professional packaged… with all communication via email by Reverb with concise instructions on each step of the process. The perfect transaction and a great site to find the gear you want.

I have not been paid yet

After selling an expensive piece of equipment, I shipped it same day, and they are still holding my payment 18 days after the sale. Since I am a new seller, they wait until the shipment has delivered. Their site says that payment transfer should start within 2 business days after delivery. It has been 8 business days. Now I find out that the equipment was damaged in shipping. The buyer says they are not returning it and has sent it to be repaired. Yet they still hold my money. The shipping they include is UPS ground. Apparently they feel that 8 days of vibration is okay for sensitive audio equipment. I filed a damage claim for the shipping, and now they are using that as a new reason to hold my funds. I'm being punished for something that isn't my fault. I absolutely regret selling through Reverb and will be selling the rest of my equipment elsewhere.

My first time using Reverb

My first time using Reverb. I found the banjo I wanted, at a phenomenal price. Ordering was easy, the shipping took only as long as they said it would and my banjo arrived in excellent shape. I will seek out other instruments from Reverb in the future. Very positive experience.

Very, very poor…

I think my experience with Reverb was the worst I have ever had with an online purchase. It took 4 days to make the purchase. Over that period the site refused to allow me to use my credit card. Reverb's messages put the blame on my bank. I called my bank which confirmed that there was no problem at their end. In emails with Reverb over the next 3 days: (i) they mis-read the emails completely in two instances (and in regard to crucial matters such as the fact that the bank had received testing transactions on the card from reverb); (ii) said they had fixed it when they had not; (iii) suggested I just pay with PAYPAL (instead of just fixing the problem); and (iv) on the fourth day, simply emailed me to say that they were escalating the problem (which means in that 12 period they did absolutely nothing). If the site works well mostly than that is great, but if there is a problem don't expect them to deal with quickly or competently.
