I was very disappointed that there was no Canadian fruit

I was very disappointed that no Canadian fruit was available. Most of the fruit was from USA. I would hope that at this time with all that is going on our Canadian store would carry Canadian options. I was looking for peaches, berries and apples. All of these were from USA I ended up going home with African oranges. Terrible. Looking for different Canadian options.

I shop online and I've been shopping at…

I shop online and I've been shopping at Safeway for years. Started about pandemic shopping. Online prices are a bit high, but lately, the service isn't that great. They pack my stuff hot chicken on top of ice cream, etc called to complain and they act like they don't care. So I've switched to Walmart shopping because the prices are high at Safeway, but I like the quality of their stuff. But when I have damaged goods and they don't care. Then I'm done . Too many dates to put on this app of when I've gotten terrible service. I let it go by fault, but this last delivery was disgusting. And then worked my way out. I think that would be like the very the best that's when to go off. I just feel if I take best way to go back

I really enjoyed going to safeway a few…

I really enjoyed going to safeway a few years ago. When I felt like a valued customer. I dislike the new system of the carts locking up. I called the store about it and was told to call a number, the guy on the other end sounded out of it and barely spoke English. My complaint went no where. I watched a poor guy have his cart lock up when he was trying to leave the store. A paying customer! I have an injured spine and legs and how painful that is. I decided I am boycotting them. I'm switching my meds to a better place to do business with. I'm disappointed in safeway would treat good people like this. Everything is so expensive then you get treated like a crook. Very humiating!

Safeway largely allows only positive…

Safeway largely allows only positive reviews for its store-brand products - with a sprinkling of other reviews to create the appearance of balance. I bought Safeway Organic Chicken Bone Broth because it had five-star reviews. It is foul, with a bitter aftertaste that makes it taste as though something in the pot was spoiled or rotten. I have dumped two quarts because they both had the same bad taste

Serious Harassment and Unacceptable Loss Prevention Behavior

I am writing this review after my third experience being wrongfully targeted and treated like a thief at Safeway Store #1070. This latest incident was far beyond a simple misunderstanding; it was outright harassment and completely unprofessional. After picking up my medication at the pharmacy, I walked down an aisle to look for Aleve. A third-party security/loss prevention officer—wearing a mask and dressed completely unprofessionally—walked past me and made a rude, instigating remark. When I called out to ask "Excuse me?" to clarify what he said, he refused to engage professionally and responded with, "You heard what I said." When I asked if there was a problem, he ignored me entirely. I proceeded to the self-checkout to pay for my prescriptions and leave. Instead of de-escalating or doing actual security work, this officer positioned himself right at the exit to block and corner me, demanding to search my bag. I complied immediately and showed him my bag—which contained absolutely nothing stolen—because I had done nothing wrong. Only after falsely accusing me and subjecting me to an unwarranted search did he try to dismiss me with a fake "have a good day." This individual’s conduct was aggressive, confrontational, and wildly inappropriate for anyone working in customer service or security. Intentionally provoking paying customers, refusing to communicate professionally, and making unfounded accusations is a liability to this store. Safeway #1070 management needs to review the security camera footage of this interaction immediately, address the actions of this third-party security guard, and remove him from this location. Customers should not have to endure hostile confrontation and false accusations just to pick up a prescription. I expect management to take immediate action regarding this staff member

Very rude cashier!!

This is for the Bonners Ferry Idaho store. I have always liked this store, It is quiet and clean and mostly has had helpful people. I was in the store today and had a 6 back of beer that i unloaded out of the cart with other groceries for my wife. My wife was paying for everything and had her visa and club card ready in hand. The cashier then asks me for ID. (I am 51 year old) I did not think anything of it or why. I then said i don't have id. I had summer wear on and was not caring a wallet as my wife had her stuff. He then became very rude when I said i don't have any and my wife does as she is paying. He then went off on how i touched the beer so i need to provide id. I then said well i don't have any and she can deal with it from here as she has id and i am sure i don't look under 21 so i think she can pay for this and we will be on our way! This guy proceeded to tell me i have an attitude and its the law. He may be correct it is the law but if my wife was paying for our buns and beer i don't think this should of been an issue to pursue. Instead of correcting him self and jut letting it go he kept at me until i became agitated and told him not to sell us the beer. He then still would not let it go so we left our other groceries on the till and left. I will never be setting foot in that store again, and i will spread the word of this to anyone else i know shopping there. The Supper 1 store across the street from this location had better deals on beer i found anyways and i had no issues purchasing it with my wife. It is too bad because like i said I have shopped at this Safeway location for the last 20 years + when I come to Bonners ferry. I will not be anymore. By the looks of how many cars are in your parking lot compared to the one at the Supper 1 I think I can see others are doing the same.

Well first off the Dallas Oregon…

Well first off the Dallas Oregon Safeway has not always been the very kindest to some people I've watched it with my own eyes and it's happened to myself and other people I know they've got new people now so it's getting a little better they're more friendly they help more they don't get upset when they are asked to help someone

Scam Artist

This company is purposely making the bank reverse payments to get late fees from your policy. I have been banned from autopay because you wanted to wait 10 days after the payment is made to take the money. Why send emails saying the payment is made then reverse the charges days later because it wasn’t in the bank? This is a scam and I’m mad that now I’m going to have to switch policies again. Why are you taking it out on the customers when you know the bank is the issue. The representative told me that it’s my responsibility to make sure it’s in there after 10 days but you’re sending confirmation that the bill is paid! I can’t stand being scammed for more money when I paid on the date you asked. And yall allowed my claim to not go through when me and the person who hit me had the same insurance. She knocked my whole bumper off as she ran a stop sign and yall did nothing. Waste of money dealing with yall

We placed an order through their app

We placed an order through their app at 10 am. Slotted for between 2 -6 pm When I called. The delivery service for the store. She said that they will get to it by 3:45 pm. No sooner priority orders come first. And the 4th of July is tomorrow. I was wasn't pleased with that response. I am on a fixed income and paid with what little benefits I receive. And I get attitude and nothing was resolved. I have been waiting since this morning only to wait longer. With no explanation what so ever! The last time this happened I reported her to the manager. In order to get it prepared faster. I am angry because the only why I do online shopping through the app. Is because I don't have access to a grocery store. But this is getting frustrating!

Truly one of the very worst grocery chains!

Truly one of the worst grocery chains! The disconnection between the corporation and its stores is hard to believe; there are always problems with digital coupons and today's was particularly extreme. Safeway has a come-on for $15 off a $50 online order; a 30% discount is nothing to sneeze at, so I tried to place an order for pickup. When it came time to check out, I attempted to enter my card number and the online app balked; no error message or explanation was forthcoming, it just didn't work, but I was then locked out of the website entirely for a time -- "Error 15". After calling the Philippines and waiting a considerable time, I was informed that the card I use to pay for groceries in Safeway stores would not work online. There was no question of fixing the problem or of offering the discount for a purchase in-store; the supposed customer service representative asked me whether I could use another form of payment than the one I want to, which I routinely use in Safeway stores. I'm sick and tired of Safeway's consistent failures and abysmal, off-shore customer service! Each part of the operation apparently operates independently of the others and stores cannot correct the many problems foisted off on them and on customers by corporate!

These jerks in Pharmacy refused to…

First I tried to contact the store (Woodstock in Portland Oregon) about the dispute below. I tried for 30 minutes just to access their website. NO success. I am changing pharmacies as of today! See below for the reason: These jerks in Pharmacy refused to refill a prescription after they told me IN PERSON the day before that I could pick it up the following day! They have done this more than once. They received the script from my doctor 4 days prior. DO NOT TRUST THESE SELF SERVING corporate shills with your prescriptions!

Safeway Fresh delivery is soooo bad.

This is a review of their fresh delivery service. It is hit or miss. First thing is that their website is extremely poorly designed. You would think they didn't use UX designers or just basic common best practices. But eventually you get used to it and it is possible to place an order. The big issue is that way too often items are missing and not delivered. And here's my worst problem: when there has been all sorts of problems with my order that I have to spend time on with customer service on, I receive an email that says that SAFEWAY (ie not me) has rated the satisfaction for that specific order high. They never ask ME I I was happy with the order and there is no where to provide feedback on the order. The only feedback you can provide is on individual items. So the eggs and the milk might be just fine, what does that help if the order was late and 10 items were missing and customer service was not helpful? At the end of the day, the question is whether the customer is happy or not and the only way to find out is by asking us. But this way, the fresh team can report back to top management that customer satisfaction is high and they get their bonus. I bet they forget to tell they are the ones deciding if it's high or not and that they never ask their customers.

Rude automated checkout person

Had to go to safeway as they are the only grocery in the area. I was sick so I waited back away from the line to avoid giving anyone else the flu. The automated checkout person pointed out that I was not in line. I stated I had the flu and wanted to avoid giving it to anyone else. She came back around and made a snide comment "if you had a mask". Gee! If I were psychic I would have purchased a mask BEFORE I caught the flu!
