Reviewers consistently had a truly great overall experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the incredible wide variety of engaging classes and top-notch, knowledgeable instructors. Learners deeply appreciate the practical, project-based approach, clear resources, and structured organization which helps them build new skills seamlessly at their own comfortable pace. However, some people mentioned that automatic subscription renewals and navigating the platform to find specific classes can occasionally be quite frustrating and time-consuming. Consumers also noted that free trial cancellations require very careful attention and active tracking to completely avoid unexpected annual charges, hidden reminder emails, and ongoing membership fees.

I tried to upload my first Arabic course to their platform, but my request was rejected. Meanwhile, it was easily published on other platforms. They claim that Arabic is prohibited, even though I've personally watched many courses by other people, entirely in Arabic, and learned from them. And they're still available now?! How is this possible?! Either they don't know what they're talking about, or the system is rejecting the courses and not Human Watch, or they're racist. Yoo, the one who will respond to this review. Go to your platform and search for any word in "Arabic," and you'll see your site is full of totally Arabic-language courses. Like my "Course" and more. Now explain this to me!

The site offers a large variety of teachers that gives me a chance to try on different approaches to learning. I am able to actually try out new approaches to doing art without having to commit to a paid class with a new teacher. I have recommended the site to many friends who ask me to suggest classes that they could take.

Sometimes artists should not be teachers. I hate to be critical, the last artist I watched is probably the most wonderful person you will ever meet, but I fell asleep right after lessons started and woke up after. Most of it was frustration with the lack of knowledge or preparedness on their part. It just seemed thrown together, not planned in relation the process. A lot of artists work that way, myself included, but teaching it is different. For the price of subscription, it’s not worth the price, and I’d like to see less quantity of classes and more quality. It matters that they are understandable, can convey step by step instructions and not so much visual emphasis on teacher but the screen/app we want to learn about. I’m just finding a lot of mistakes/missteps that could be edited out better. I don’t know if artists aren’t making much/not putting time into your videos-but in this last one I decided I cannot watch this artist, again, because she was all over the place and trying to correct after the fact. But she did speak English well enough for me to understand, which is why I chose her lesson. There are many positive things about Skillshare and great teachers/lessons; but the majority of my time is trying to find and English speaking one who is easy to follow. If I’m spending all my time doing that in the app, I lose time in production, and less likely to re-subscribe-find a more focused, professional class online through the company who produced the software/app I’m trying to learn. Thanks for letting me convey my concerns.
Hi Susan, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and honest feedback — we really appreciate it. We're sorry to hear that the class you watched didn’t meet your expectations. You’re absolutely right that teaching is a different skill from creating, and when lessons feel unstructured or unclear, it can be frustrating and take away from the learning experience. We also hear your point about consistency, clarity, and editing. Being able to follow a clear, step-by-step process without having to sift through trial-and-error is important, especially when you’re trying to stay focused and actually produce work. We’ll make sure your feedback is shared with the team as we continue working with instructors and improving overall class quality and structure. We’re also actively looking at ways to help members more easily find classes that are well-paced, clearly taught, and aligned with their learning goals. We do appreciate you being part of Skillshare and for also recognizing the strengths in the platform and its teachers. Feedback like yours is genuinely valuable in helping us improve.

Hi Tam, We're so glad you enjoyed the class! We appreciate your kind words.
The classes are detailed and allow a beginner artist to take the tools they are given and incorporate them moving forward. The teachers are top notch! I also appreciate having the extra class resources to use and refer back to.
