Upgrade of one great product to another, even better one.
I initially purchased the Desktop Perpetual Licence, and wanted to upgrade to the Perpetual Max. The assistance I received from Anastasiia, from the support team at Skylum, was exceptional. Having one person assigned to my needs resulted in a seamless and hassle free experience, with an outcome that was resolved in a timely and effective manner. The Perpetual Max licence is certainly the way to go - so many extra features that has elevated my editing results. The tools are intuitive, and if I ever need extra guidance, the online tutorials are clear, comprehensive and easy to access. I was recommended Luminar by others at my Camera Club, and couldn't be happier with the product and service. Whilst I know other big name editing platforms are frequently referenced, Luminar is the first one I would recommend to anyone considering editing.

Yes, I had a chat with one of the Support team. AI started, then immediately transferred me to a live person without any wait. The support member was very concise and gracious, answered all my questions quickly. Very helpful I would highly recommend using their chat box if you have any questions.

Efficiency
I have purchased the Programme last year and love it. As photography is my hobby and I am now retired I enjoy taking pictures and giving them the final touch with luminar neo. I certainly die not regret my choice!the customer service is fabulous, replies do not take forever to arrive and there is always a solution to Amy queries given. Thank you!

Skylum ultimately made it right — but it took a public review to get there
I am a satisfied Luminar Neo user and purchased a lifetime license in May 2025. I love the product — which makes what followed all the more disappointing. In early June 2026, confused by constant upgrade notifications, I contacted support to ask simply: do I need to purchase anything? A Skylum support agent replied in writing: "you'll have full access to all the features and improvements released in the Fall Upgrade 2025 and Spring Update 2026 even after the pass expires. Plus, you'll have access to 3 generative features (GenErase, GenSwap and GenExpand) till the end of 2026." No conditions. No mention of any required purchase. I took this at face value and did nothing. Soon later, I noticed that the generative features disappeared from my account. When I presented this email to support, they claimed the agent "meant to describe a purchase option." That interpretation is simply not supported by the words written. Due to Skylum's miscommunication, I missed the window to purchase the Upgrade Pass — which is now no longer available. I am left without features I was explicitly promised, with no resolution offered except "wait for the next Pass." When I asked to be escalated to a manager, I was refused — twice. A reputable company stands behind its written communications and takes responsibility for its mistakes. Skylum has chosen not to. --- **Update:** Skylum reached out publicly and extended my access to the Generative tools through January 1, 2027, as originally promised. I appreciate that they ultimately took responsibility and made it right. Luminar Neo is truly an excellent product, and I hope this resolution reflects a genuine commitment to standing behind their communications in the future.

We don't want this situation to affect your experience with Luminar Neo, so we've extended your access to Generative tools to 01 January, 2027, as we promised in the initial message. I know this won't completely remove the frustration and disappointment you felt when you were told that access isn't actually included for you. However, I hope this will allow you to continue editing photos with the joy and creative flow you've previously experienced with our tools. I had a problem with Luminar Neo. The program wouldn’t launch and displayed an error message. I went to the Skylum website, and started an online chat. Within just a few minutes, I was connected to a live person. After a few questions the person I was chatting with realized my problem was technical. She forwarded my problem to tech support and said I would be contacted via email. Within 20 minutes, I received an email with instructions on a possible fix. I tried the fix and it worked. Resolving a problem in 20 minutes? That is great support!

Customer service is outstanding! I sent in a service request and received almost an immediate response. It offered possible solutions and detailed instructions for each solution. I found my solution and was up and running. Kudos to Tara's for all of her assistance.

Excellent support to edit a photo that I couldn't do. Now the photo looks great and I know how to do it. The software gave me the result I was after that I couldn't get before I had it.

I've been using NEO for a year
I've been using NEO for a year and have been very pleased. I had some questions about my lifetime license and the availability of generative tools. Customer service was very helpful in explaining what became of them. All good.
