What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with poor customer service, facing extended response times, locked accounts, and unhelpful automated replies that fail to resolve issues. Many users expressed deep disappointment regarding unexpected login errors and sudden app crashes experienced during routine workouts. People also encounter frustrating subscription renewal problems and extremely difficult cancellation processes within the platform. However, some customers also noted that the application provides precise movement tracking and smooth core functionality. The minority of people were satisfied with the platform, noting its user-friendly interface, comprehensive options, and overall great features.

What people say

Charged £54 instantly, no access to premium, no support

I genuinely thought I was signing up for a free trial with Strava. Instead, I was charged £54 immediately, with no warning that the payment would be taken straight away. I requested a refund through Apple, but the request was refused. Since I was now out £54, I figured I might as well use the premium features I supposedly paid for. But when I opened the Strava app, I was greeted with another prompt offering a free trial, and I still couldn’t access any premium features. It was as if I hadn’t paid at all. At this point, I’ve paid £54 for nothing. No premium access, no support, and no refund. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I expected better transparency and customer service from a company as big as Strava. Would not recommend

Don't even download it

Don't even download it. It will malfunction on a regular basis. Ran a 5k and it only recorded 1.5 miles of it. Afterwards, I felt disappointed and upset that I was cheated out of my achievement by some broken app. In summary: it is a scam. It even expects you to pay after a while. I deleted it, and I would recommend you do yourself a favor by getting rid of it too.

Dreadful AI

There's no doubting that Strava has helped tens of millions of athletes record & analyse their activities, helping with training & enjoyment. The mainstay has been the leaderboards, which they have now monetised by making them subscription only. It's a shame then that they don't use the reported $500 million in annual recurring revenue, to invest in decent customer support and improve their dreadful sub-par AI Athlete Intelligence programme, which can't even count or recognise KoM achievements!

Awful customer service

This company must be avoided. Their customer service replies to your questions 2 weeks (!!) after you sent it. I had several questions and received a generic one-sentence answer, that absolutely did NOT answer any of my questions. It seems that the customer service person had a some pushing from their boss to answer as many questions in a day as they fysically can. And another thing, the yearly subscription was renewed without notifying whatsover. Stay away from this company, they are obviously just after your money.

Strange goings on with ways to cancel

Auto renewal is ridiculous so went on Strava to manage subscription in the app, says it's due to auto renew on 13/10/2025, decided to cancel it in app, no way to do it in the app it points you to web, so I logged into web account and in the settings it said I subscribed through Google, couldn't find a cancel button anywhere, checked on my Google play subscriptions and nothing there for Strava, so logged back in on web and behold in the place that said Google was a cancel subscription. So after clicking on cancel and them asking am I sure about 6 times and Mr clicking cancel. It's finally cancelled.

Been a subscriber for 13 years

Been a subscriber for 13 years. Noticed that Strava has been excluding segments I ride for no particular reason. Some segments I’ve ridden 200 times and don’t get close to my PB but Strava automatically excludes them without even telling me. It has nothing to do with ebike profile before anyone asks. Now as a paying subscriber to try and get this fixed by Strava is impossible and after trying to deal with them I’ve decided that I longer want to ever be a customer again. They have no customer service for a paid service. I’ve switched Garmin segments which seem to be a lot more accurate and actually work. Strava has lost the edge it had and they would do better firing all their customer service people and just not deal with customer requests rather than the absolutely shocking people they have talking to customers (noting it did take them about a month to respond and to be honest they are bad it would be better to keep quiet). I’d stay away from paying for this service - it’s not even worth it for free as it’s now totally inaccurate. Definitely don’t pay annually upfront!

If I could give it 0 stars I would

If I could give it 0 stars I would. They do not have customer service - you raise a ticket regarding an issue and there are bots who respond, or more infuriatingly do not respond, simply close the ticket stated it is resolved. Took my money and it is proving impossible to get a refund. Seriously, give another firm your money - shocked at how bad my experience has been.

Avoid Strava, look at the reviews, choose a better app and experience (mines been awful 😖)

Awful Service all round - Avoid and use an app with good service review ratings..not Strava! - Inaccurate app on distance (for me) - Strava took/thieved an annual subscription fee from my c/card without any notice or warning. Unscrupulous conduct. - tried to get a refund and terrible AI automated service that's designed to infuriate/ after several weeks got a generic response saying cant/won't refund, and not addressing issues raised. - Responded to highlighting Strava failures and no notice and still waiting... - Avoid - a constant that has to use these tactics is more about conning people, than offering a good reliable service that people want. - Look for better apps and look at the reviews, for better service.

After using and paying for the app for…

After using and paying for the app for 8 years I’ve just found out I’ve been blocked by Strava for apparently abusive behaviour. I thought this was bizarre but would be easy to resolve with a call but then found out their customer service does not really exist. You just get generic Bott responses to emails or nothing at all. Genuinely infuriating.
