In my notification settings, I have enabled emails for "When a release in my wantlist is listed for sale". What I ACTUALLY receive is relentless spam emails regarding every item that's ALREADY in my wantlist "In Case You Missed It". I didn't miss it. I didn't want to buy it, or I'd have bought it the first time you told me about it.
So well done, Discogs. You've just burned my trust and made me turn the feature off completely because there's no way to receive notifications for new listings without also receiving relentless spam.
DISCOGS is behaving like a kind of Ebay. Zero customer support, money addicted and very expensive to sell. You are obliged to use paypal and combined fees are like 25-30 % depending to which country you have sold. I have been for many years on this site but now it is enough. From now on I only use it as the ultimate vinyl database.
Useless. First time I've ever used it, never again!
It's terrible. I thought eBay was bad, but I'll be going back to it, never to venture on Discogs again.
First and last time using the platform. Terrible. Please avoid it.There is no buyer nor seller protection, there is no information on shipping types and there is no way to cancel & return orders or hell get a refund if the seller never sends your order. And they all sweep away the liability. They provide false and misleading information too and there is no vetting of sellers.
I've sold for quite some time on Discogs but it's just becoming a nightmare to deal with. I had to refund an order because I couldn't meet customs requirements to ship to the US, but you can only refund via your paypal wallet. It took me a long time to get money into the wallet because my bank rejects payments going to paypal wallets, thus risking bad feedback.
They then erroneously left an item in my storefront listed when it was supposed to be removed after being sold, and someone else purchased it. I then was completely unable to refund the order despite having money available (the site just said "unknown error occurred") and so I had to refund them directly, which means that unless Discogs steps in, they will keep their partner fees for the sale and I will have to eat the cost. I tried to update a support ticket I made with them and they said they are NO LONGER ACCEPTING SUPPORT EMAILS! you can make a ticket in the site, but in my experience so far, they will just ignore the ticket, and you can't even reply to the ticket to add context.
Since two weeks i cant acces my profile and I want to contact Discogs but They dont answer….. only a chatbot…….
They think I got blocked , but I did nt do anything….

Run. I ordered and paid for an item on 11/14/2025 and as of 2/4/2026 have never received it. Seller ignored messages until prompted by Discogs, and never provided shipping or tracking information. I went to Discogs for resolution, and they ignored my support request. Now trying to get a refund via Paypal. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Terrible experience. Avoid Discogs.
I’ve been waiting over 3 weeks for a vinyl record that the seller hasn’t even shipped. The seller completely ignores my messages, and I’ve opened two support tickets in one week to cancel the order with absolutely no response from Discogs.
No seller control, no real customer support, and zero protection for buyers. A complete waste of time and money. Do not buy here.

Experiencia terrible.
No compréis aquí.
A friend on Discogs gave me the heads-up on an album becoming available on the site that I had been after for some time. Excited, I created an account and instantly bought the album. Actually on Christmas Eve. Quite pricey, but not ridiculous for such an album. Well chuffed. Waited. And waited. Put it down to Christmas. But once we got into January I messaged the seller. No response. Messaged twice more. No response. Messaged Discogs several times, each time receiving generic responses that took me no further than their policies which by now I had already read. To cut a long story short the bogus seller should have been removed from the site by Discogs after four days of not responding. This is Discogs policy, which they failed to apply. To my knowledge, this shameless, bogus seller is still operating on the site. In addition, Discogs are still to reply to my query regarding their enforcement of their own policies. Got a refund via PayPal. Hugely disappointed. Avoid. Will never use again as it legitimises bogus, unscrupulous sellers.
I have only used Discogs once and won’t ever use it again! I bought my brother a record which turned out was listed incorrectly on the website. This appeared to be an issue with the listing rather than the seller advertising it incorrectly.
I attempted to contact customer services (which is not simple) and managed to raise a ticket through the chat bot.
This was on the 19th December and I didn’t anticipate a quick reply with it being so close to Christmas. I ended up replying to my ticket another 4 times in January to ask for someone to reply. I eventually got a reply today 28th January!!
No apology for the extremely long wait and told me to just contact the seller because they don’t get involved. So frustrating!
I don't doubt the negative reviews
But my experience has been great so far, I'm very into quite niche noise and dsbm music.
Discogs has been pretty great for tracking down rare or hard to come by/out of print releases
So far only had one purchase where the seller didn't actually have the album, but I was refunded same day..
have been on discogs a couple of years and there's some really good sellers...but when paypal spots a security risk so it stops you from buying from a non responsive seller that's good...but not discogs you report the issue to them and you get no response from them...just messages in your inbox saying unpaid item
you have to pay within 3 days or you will receive a non payment negative feedback...and that's what i got negative feedback so i just closed my account...
i wouldn't recommend discogs to anyone as there customer service is non existent...
Discogs COULD NOT CARE LESS about buyers being ripped off!
I ordered a CD on Discogs and paid immediately.
A whole week passsed without the CD being dispatched and with NO CONTACT from the seller.
So, I sent the seller a polite message asking when they intended to ship my order, but after several days WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE, I submitted a 'Seller Not Responding' ticket to DIscogs.
Discogs claimed to have messaged the seller and promised to SUSPEND THEIR ACCOUNT if they didn't respond within 4 days.
4 Days passed WITHOUT ANY CONTACT from the seller! However, Discogs FAILED to suspend the seller and is allowing them to continue advertising!
I contacted Discogs to remind them they had failed to suspend the seller, (in other words, DIscogs broke their promise), but over 2 days after the seller should have been suspended, I have still had NO RESPONSE from either the seller or Discogs, AND the seller has STILL NOT been suspended and continues to advertise & sell on Discogs!
The conclusion: Discogs is NOT an honest, respectful, caring or trustworthy company, (because they have BROKEN A PROMISE and FAILED to do ANYTHING to help me or more importantly, to prevent other buyers from being cheated out of money for goods that are never sent!
Discogs clearly COULD NOT CARE LESS about buyers being RIPPED OFF and appear to be more interested in the money they earn from seller's fees, than in preventing customers having their money taken but not receiving any products, (effectively, enabling and encouraging rogue sellers to commit a scam or theft of customers money)!
Completely WRONG priorities!
It's only when things go wrong that you really find out how much a website cares about its customers - and this poor experience has proved to me that Discogs does not care and CHOOSES to IGNORE rogue sellers and is happy to ENABLE & ENCOURAGE them to keep on scamming!
Don’t use . They send your money straight to the supposed seller without sending the goods. Shock oh shock the goods don’t arrive and you are left trying to get money back from your bank or PayPal.
This just encourages fraud and theft !!
Its pretty poor. I moved from eBay about 9 months ago because it wasfast going down the pan, and have sold precisely two items out of about 60 listed. The site is difficult to navigate, overloaded with rubbish items, and very difficult to set up an account on. It took me about 6 weeks! No one answeres any quiries and most of the vinyl that sells is stuff I've never ever heard of. Also there is no bidding function and lots of items are way overvalued. It's pretty poor.
Used it for 20 years as a seller. No longer worth the time and effort. Site has so many issues it’s unreal, from problems dealing with inventory, buyers but being able to pay, scams sent out via discogs emails, support is non existent and if you point out these issues in their forums they ban you from posting there!
Never known something that was once so good, be so easily destroyed by it owners! Such a shame.
