After over 3 months dealing with…

After over 3 months dealing with freedom mortgage to refi to pay all credit cards debt. After closing I get packet of checks, no easy way to cross reference check to account and the payoff amount don't match the checks. Also, I was explicit in saying I wanted all credit cards paid off, freedom left 2 cards off payments. I had a 2.5% mtg the only reason I refi was to pay credit cards ALL OF THEM. I knew there might possibly be a balance for interest but not hundreds of dollars and not paying all the cards. Freedom Mortgage engaged in predatory loan churning, bait-and-switch tactics, and procedural coercion. As my existing 2.5% fixed-rate lender, they dragged out an internal refinance for 11 weeks, leaving me in financial limbo until I was over a barrel. They verbally promised 100% credit card debt consolidation to justify giving up my historic rate. However, my estimated cash-out randomly fluctuated from $28,000 down to $21,000, and finally to $24,000 after I complained. To manipulate these numbers and hide undisclosed points on an FHA 3/1 ARM (4.8%), Freedom Mortgage covertly omitted two of my credit cards from the payoff schedule and severely underpaid the remaining balances. They admitted an internal 'box wasn't checked,' proving that they altered my debt consolidation terms without my consent just to force a flawed, high-fee loan to close."

Misleading Information and Mishandled Refinance Application

I applied to refinance my condo, and on the first day the loan officer told me I needed to pay a $400 appraisal fee. He specifically said that if the loan didn’t go through, the fee would be reimbursed. After three weeks, they informed me the loan was denied due to an issue with my HOA’s master insurance, something I have no control over as a condo owner. When I asked for my $400 refund, the loan officer suddenly claimed they “don’t do that.” I reminded him of our original conversation and asked him to review the recorded call, since all calls are supposed to be recorded. I also questioned why they didn’t verify the HOA insurance before ordering the appraisal, which would have prevented this situation entirely. Because of the misinformation, poor communication, and refusal to honor what was promised, I will never return to this company for any type of loan.
