What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently reported serious issues with unhelpful customer support teams, rude staff members, and extreme difficulties when trying to reach a real person for assistance. Shoppers also mentioned frequently receiving damaged or defective items, missing components in home orders, and serious problems with delayed or incorrect shipments. The minority of people were satisfied with the helpful staff, finding store employees polite and always ready to assist customers during busy shopping trips. Some reviewers were happy with surprisingly smooth online pickup orders and fair, highly competitive prices on various everyday products.

We visited the Target on 16400 Beach

We visited the Target on 16400 Beach, looking for a specialty item. We asked a nearby employee. I wish I had gotten her name. We explained what we were looking for, and when we mentioned a design detail, she looked it up on her scanner. “THAT’S IT!!”. My wife was so happy. We were sent to C16. She was really nice, and a joy. LIVE this Target !!!

Target East in Williamsburg VA - avoid at all costs

7/27/26. Target on Marquis Parkway in Williamsburg, VA just does not care one whit about customers. The employees are untrained and unsupervised. I picked up four dental items in five minutes. There was one register open at 4:00 p.m. One cart waiting and one being checked out. Something went wrong, and the cashier began returning items one-by-one from an overloaded cart. I asked if there was another register, and she shrugged and told me to go to self checkout - where they don't take cash. I went to the returns register, there was one woman waiting and no one working. After a few minutes I said something to two Target employees happily chatting a few feet away and perfectly aware that customers were lined up and not being taken care of. The one employee huffed and stomped over to take care of the woman in front of me. In the meantime, another guy came over and checked me out. FIVE MINUTES TO FIND MY ITEMS, FIFTEEN MINUTES TO CHECK OUT. I stopped shopping at Target six years ago because of this store. Their registers didn't honor more than half of the advertised deals, and I ended up having to check out then in at customer service. It'll be another six years before I buy anything from Target again.

Wow, disaster in dhipping

Wow, I will never order anything shipped by Target again. Although I’m generally satisfied with their actual stores, my shipping experience has been a disaster. I ordered towels on July 9, so far on July 26 not only have they not been delivered, I never even receive updates from target explaining why there has been a delay or when to expect arrival of the shipment I ordered. All it was was a set of towels. So I went instead on Amazon and order the same towels for less and got them within about 12 hours. Target, take note.

No price on tags

This is the second time in less than a month that I have seen some clothes I liked and then try to find price and it’s not on the tag nor shelf. This is also the second time I, in those same visits, put the item back and walked out with NOTHING! If Target is not going to put prices on items I will no longer buy from Target. If you want my money make it easier to shop! PUT THE DAMN PRICE ON THE TAG!!!

Horrible baby registry experience

am beyond disappointed with Target’s customer service. I purchased a stroller costing over $300 from a baby registry. I live in California and had it shipped directly to the recipient in New York. When it arrived, the box was completely unacceptable—it was torn up, had mold on it, and looked like it had already been opened and poorly re-taped. This is not the condition anyone expects for an expensive baby item. After speaking with four different customer service representatives, I got nowhere. Instead of taking responsibility for delivering a damaged package, I was told I would have to haul the large, heavy stroller to a Target store myself and hope they had another one in stock. My request was simple: pick up the damaged stroller at the time of delivery and replace it with a new one in the condition it should have arrived in. Target refused. Target’s failure to deliver a product in acceptable condition became my problem to fix. What should have been an exciting gift for a growing family turned into a frustrating, time-consuming experience. For a company as large as Target, I expected much better customer service and accountability. Based on this experience, I will not be shopping with Target again.

Do not trust their back-end tracking…

Do not trust their back-end tracking support. I ordered two hard drives, which where apparently Target Plus items. Although everything shipped in a timely manner, they did not arrive. I waited and did the standard check with everyone and called 45hrs later. I gave the info to support who told me they couldnt help as it had not been a full 48hrs. Ok, called back two days later and whole the first support agent did make notes, the current agent said they would be unable to assist me as not only does Target not assist with Target+ items (third party sales thro Target) but according to the tracking information investigation by their back end team, the USPS package was delivered to my home, regardless of no proof of delivery. There are five streets with the same as my own in this city, ironically it was delivered to one of the other addresses and sadly the people took their time getting the item to me so whatever information the back-end team was using was incorrect, and now I am waiting for a refund which thankfully I only get out of the sheer luck the others dropped off the delivered package.

Purchased an OtterBox through target online did not realize it was a third-party vendor until a piece broke off of it and I tried to have it replaced Target directed me to the company A4 C when I talk to them they refuse to do anything I call target back. The gentleman said he couldn’t do anything cause it was a third-party vendor. I said I would like to speak to a supervisor to escalate the issue and the guy hung up on me. Horrible customer service. All they care about is getting money from their customers. They don’t care about the quality of products they are selling to consumers.

I made a debit card payment to my target credit card on July 9th. Today, July 19th, the payment still has not posted to my account. I tried to chat but the team member blocked my chat so I had to call. All I can say is no one there wants to do their job!! Laziness is something I personally can’t tolerate. Good bye Target!!

Over the past year

Over the past year, I have repeatedly experienced issues with Target promotions that offered gift cards as rewards for qualifying purchases. On at least five separate occasions, I made significant purchases specifically because they qualified for a promotional Target gift card. However, after placing the orders and picking them up, the gift cards I had earned were unexpectedly canceled. When I initially sought assistance at my local Target store, I was directed to contact Target Circle Customer Service because the store representatives stated they were unable to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, my experience with Target Circle Customer Service was extremely disappointing. Despite providing screenshots and purchase records clearly showing that the purchases qualified for the promotional gift cards, I was informed that Target could not reimburse or reissue any of the gift cards because the promotional offers had expired. I explained that the issue was not that I failed to redeem the offers, but rather that the earned gift cards were canceled through no fault of my own. Even so, the representative stated that nothing could be done. What was even more concerning was that the representative acknowledged they could not identify the reason the gift cards were being canceled in the first place and offered no solution to prevent the issue from happening again. As a result, not only was I denied the gift cards I legitimately earned through my purchases, but I also received no meaningful assistance in resolving the underlying problem. Throughout the conversation, I repeatedly attempted to explain the situation and ask follow-up questions. However, the representative continuously ignored my concerns and repeatedly interrupted me by asking, "Is there anything else you would like assistance with today?" before addressing the issues I was raising. It felt as though they were trying to end the conversation rather than help resolve the problem. I found the representative's attitude to be dismissive, unprofessional, and lacking any genuine effort to assist a loyal customer. I am extremely frustrated that after multiple occurrences of the same problem over the course of a year, Target has neither provided reimbursement for the canceled gift cards nor investigated and corrected the issue causing them to be canceled. Customers should not lose promotional rewards they rightfully earned due to a system error or issue beyond their control, especially when documentation proving the purchases and promotions has been provided. Target needs to thoroughly investigate this matter, review purchase histories and supporting documentation, reimburse the gift cards that were improperly canceled, and take appropriate steps to ensure this issue does not continue to affect future purchases to anyone!

If I could put zero I would after an hour of four calls nothing was solved. I did not get my $20 off for my circle. One call was dropped after 10 minutes. One call she put me on hold this Customer Service from India for 25 minutes until I just hanged up because I saw there’s no solution she promised me to send me an email confirming that you manually gave me the $20 that I deserve. I don’t know why I have to work for target for my things. I’m about to give back all the dresses that I bought if nobody will call me from target I need a supervisor.
