Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently reported serious issues with unhelpful customer support teams, rude staff members, and extreme difficulties when trying to reach a real person for assistance. Shoppers also mentioned frequently receiving damaged or defective items, missing components in home orders, and serious problems with delayed or incorrect shipments.
The minority of people were satisfied with the helpful staff, finding store employees polite and always ready to assist customers during busy shopping trips. Some reviewers were happy with surprisingly smooth online pickup orders and fair, highly competitive prices on various everyday products.

Refund for missing package, but only after firm language.
I ordered an electric toothbrush which was delivered to my building lobby but disappeared before I picked it up. (I live in a neighborhood with regular lobby thefts unfortunately.) I contacted Target: their "fix a problem" form refused to take the report because the item needed to be returned to a store -- difficult if I don't have the item. Their chat bot pointed to the delivery report and said nothing could be done. I threatened it with withdrawal of my business, and it concluded that it needed human help and promptly got me to a human agent. After I made the point that if I didn't get a better response I would have to stop shopping from Target mail order, the human offered me a refund, which I thought was a fine response, but one that it took more work than it should have to get.
This is concerning the target credit card: at one point i signed up for a Target credit card and canceled because there's a Target close to where i live, then later i changed my mind and signed up again. For whatever reason, the electronic payments were going into my old credit card even though i was typing the new credit card number, and the new card was not getting payed off. Luckily, I was able to resolve the issue quickly, and only had to pay an extra 17 dollars for the goods, but I do not trust whoever is running the credit card system at target...and unfortunately your credit card accounts are blindly linked together these days for the benefit of companies like target.
My daughter purchased a couch for my birthday. The pillows would not inflate. I called Target. They connect to a third-party. I spoke to Christopher Knight, who told me they were gonna send me pillows that he sent me an email telling me they’re not gonna send me the pillows he told me to call target I called target and she said the only thing we can do is have you return the couch which is inconvenient because now I have to rent a vehicle to bring the couch back and she said oh I can give you $25 gift certificate for the inconvenience. Now we purchased this couch. Make arrangements to come pick up the couch. Why should I have to come out of my pocket to return the couch that use our refusing to replace the pillows that wouldn’t inflate don’t buy no furniture from target
Supporters of Scalpers, Whenever theirs popular and high demand collectibles you,re not getting it. Online is even worse, customer service is a joke most of their employees when you ask for assistance in the store they just walk by you not even caring seeing the lights saying to go to the location for the customers to help! they're online it's nothing but support for scalpers cuz they won't even give you a chance to get it and if you get lucky some way be aware that they might cancel your order! I would just avoid going there man it's called Target for a reason they're targeting you to spend money for unnecessary reasons when they don't get stuff people want!
I ordered a loft bed. Only 2 of the 3 boxes arrived. I called to inquire and after speaking to three people and being on hold multiple times, I was told to wait for an email with instructions on when to put the ridiculously heavy boxes outside for someone to pick up. My 2nd box was damaged and I would not be getting it. The bed I ordered was out of stock. I wouldn’t get my refund they got the boxes that were delivered back! This is the worse I have ever experienced! Nothing was offered to make me whole. I will never order from Target again!!!
Target customer service has deteriorated over the years and it’s more noticeable as they’ve shifted target red card to target circle card. Frankly, it’s a clunky system that makes user error very common. I have been working on buying a house so have been obsessing over timely payments and still managed to miss one (I don’t agree that I did, but nonetheless). If they ever decide to get back to who they were before they sucked, that would be great for business. In the meantime, I closed my card, deleted my account and have moved on from any items I used to purchase regularly at the store. Absolute trash hole of a company.
Regardless if you place an order for delivery (same day) or shipping, they NEVER deliver on the promised time. Shipping is usually 7-10 days vs 2 day promised with the Target 360 Circle Membership. Same day get delayed by 6-10 hours, if it gets delivered.
Impossible Online Shopping Experience With a Retailer That Mistreats My Data
I got 2 Target gift cards at my baby shower. I don't shop there, but I decided to use them to buy some nursing bras my friends recommended. The nearest store was 25 min. away and out of stock, so I shopped online. I chose my items and tried to checkout as a guest, as I didn't want to make an account. Turns out, Target requires you to make an account to buy online. I tried to make one but couldn't. I called customer service and was told an account had been created in my name 6 years ago and then deactivated. (I have no memory of doing this.) The service rep reactivated my account and placed the order for me about 5:30 pm ET. I noticed 3 of the 4 bras were set for pickup in California at 7 pm PT. I live on the East Coast and wanted the whole order shipped to my home. The rep wasn't American, so I had to explain that I lived on the opposite side of the country and couldn't drive 2,500 miles to California in 5 hours to pick up the bras. Target wouldn't let us edit the order since it was already placed, so she canceled those 3 items and reordered them for me with home shipping. Placing my order took almost 30 minutes. Once my items arrived, I decided to delete my Target account since I was so unhappy with the shopping experience. But, Target makes that very difficult. You can't delete the account yourself; you must talk to customer service. I spent 20+ minutes in the online chat. The bot "didn't have the answer to that question." I finally got a person, who stalled before finally sending me a link to delete my account. I filled out the form and got an email saying Target "couldn't find my information" with no more details. Eventually, I realized it was because my married name was on my shipping address and my maiden name was on the account itself. I had to update my name and resubmit the form. That's when I realized my first request wasn't even for deletion. It was a request for privacy policies and data use information. Apparently, this link from customer service has a confusing, hidden toggle where you must switch from an information request to an account deletion request. The second time, a confirmation screen said my request would be processed within 45 days (a very long time). Then I got an email saying my request "has been processed." So, I'm unsure if my account really got deleted or if it's in progress. The second email also included a list of reasons Target will keep my data on file, even though I requested it to be deleted along with my account. It's as if they're holding my information as a digital hostage. The customer service reps were nice enough, but they're in foreign call centers and don't speak good English. All I wanted was some comfortable nursing bras so I can feed my baby, but to get them, I had to spend over an hour messing with things that should have taken less than 5 minutes. And I'm not even sure the issue is resolved. People act like Target is great, but it's one of the 3 worst companies I've ever done business with. I won't be shopping in store or online ever again. The next time someone gives me a Target gift card, I plan to find a homeless person and give it to them... hopefully for someone who's down on their luck, a little free money at a crummy store will be better than nothing!
first I ordered a jacket and received a transparent very thin fabric terrible quality . the order was under the Target company name but I came to find out that you folks also use third party companies for some of your merchandise. I could care less where you get the merchandise. if it is under the Target name you must accept to return the item at the store just as Macy's does all returns. going to Fedex and Ups is not customer friendly and you are not an online company only. I suggest strongly anything with your name with all the proper criteria must be returned to the store where it is practical and free to do so. all of us who do not have or need a printer must pay for the copies of the return label. not happy customer.
The customer service agent Patrick was horrible. I was denied a manager to assist me with setting up my son’s college account. This is one of the reasons why a chose every place else of Target due to very bad service
I ordered 8 pairs of shorts online for a trip and the arrival date at checkout were were given was a Monday. We were leaving Wednesday. The next time I checked the tracking it said arriving Wednesday. Too late for us to use.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A CREDIT CARD!!!!!
No matter the discount advantages.
I signed up and never received a physical card.
My fear is someone else received it and is swiping away. And of course I’d be responsible. I’ve called every number provided even resorted to the online chat for some resolution or direction and nothing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING so I called the store back and the manager on duty helped as much as she could and I want to share that this experience is is horrifying. This is the second time I’ve attempted to do this card. I will never again not for 10% off of purchases. Save yourself the agony and frustration.
So I ordered a mattress through "Target" come to find out it's a 3rd party......THEY DONT SELL KING MATTRESS IN STORE.
RECEIVED MATTRESS IN A BOX DELIVERED TO OFFICE..... WELL WELL WELL THE SPRINGS IN THE MATTRESS POKING MY BACK FROM BEING FOLDED..... CANT MAKE THIS UP!!!! IM PISSED OFF.....THEY DONT WANT TO GIVE A REFUND OR PICK IT UP.....MAKE IT MAKE SENSE....DONE THROUGH A 3RD PARTY......DONT ORDER FROM TARGET PERIOD....SHIT IS TRASH
I would give Target zero stars if I could.
My experience with Target's return policy has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Target heavily promotes its 90-day return policy, which leads customers to reasonably believe they have ample time to return most products. However, I later discovered that an Apple charger I purchased was subject to a much shorter 14-day return window.
When I contacted customer service, I was told the policy was disclosed during checkout and therefore nothing could be done. While Target may technically disclose this exception somewhere in the purchase process, it was not prominent or clear enough for an average customer to recognize that they were giving up the widely advertised 90-day return period.
What is most disappointing is Target's unwillingness to make a reasonable exception for a simple charger in like-new condition. Rather than focusing on customer satisfaction, they chose to rigidly enforce a policy that many customers may not even realize exists.
This experience has left me feeling misled and undervalued as a customer. Transparency and fairness matter, and Target failed on both. As a result, I will no longer shop at Target and will take my business to retailers that are more customer-focused and transparent about their policies.
Very disappointing experience.
I apply this company Soo many times and now I understand why. U should of told me that you are racism company and u don't like hispano or Latino. This company should not be aloud in the USA.
I never got what I bought, the items were delivered to a hotel, I lost the money. The account was hacked, a new address was added as default and the itens “supposed “ were delivered there, to a hotel, no picture, no way to ask, just lost the money. From now on just use Amazon
We ordered food to be delivered, and it went to a house across the street. Jan was the person that delivered it to the wrong house. I have bronchitis and so I got out of breath walking over to get it. I tried calling Target but could not get through to anybody.
