I am very pleased to have found Pettable.com to assist me in obtaining ESA letter required for my housing situation. The process was straightforward and easy, even for a traditional non-tech savvy senior fighting brain cancer. My experience was quick, simple, and easy. Everything was straightforward and they walked you through the whole process and what to expect. My call with Kya Miller, LICSW, LCSW went well and she was easy to talk to, even while feeling nervous. I like that she allowed me to take my time to really think and answer her questions. Her questions for evaluation were not ones I'm used to answering or talking about, but she made me feel heard and valuable. I'm not great at explaining, but Kya understood me and was able to put what I was saying into better words to help me articulate my emotions and needs!

The overall service is easy and user friendly! I was able to fill out all of the forms with ease and the steps were made clear to me as I moved through the process! I appreciate this! I also had an excellent Licensed Mental Heath Counselor--she was helpful, kind, and easy to work with. I was grateful for that. The only critique I have if of the Receptive Health Portal. Any updates made to your profile become a tedious task. Changing my password became more difficult than solving a puzzle, and the overall experience on Receptive Health is quite outdated and not at all user-friendly. I know that this is separate from Pettable's services, but the pairing felt off to me--one is easy to use and the other is confusing and outdated. Apart from that, the experience was positive and the results speak for themselves. Thank you, Pettable!

I went into this process already feeling nervous because I had never done anything like this before. One of the first questions I was asked was what my mental health disability was. I explained that I personally didn’t feel comfortable labeling myself as having a disability, but I tried to explain the struggles and symptoms I’ve been dealing with.
Because I didn’t immediately identify with having a “disability,” it felt like the conversation was already over before it even began. There was very little effort to understand more about what I was going through or why I was seeking support in the first place.
Instead of feeling heard, I was told that my symptoms sounded “manageable” and was questioned on why I hadn’t sought treatment sooner if they were truly affecting me. That response felt incredibly invalidating. I never really got the opportunity to fully explain what I’ve been going through or why getting my dog ESA certified was important to me and how much emotional support she has provided in my life.
I explained that access to treatment and affordability have been barriers for me, which is why I sought more natural forms of support and coping. Overall, the interaction left me feeling judged rather than supported, which was disappointing considering the nature of the service.
