I've bought and sold many items, including guitars and amps, on Reverb since the site's inception. I've found great deals, and made some fine sales, too. Once I had a purchased guitar arrive badly damaged, and they made good on my loss immediately. My only gripe is that their fees could be lower (but isn't that really universal these days?)
Reverb is a great way to buy. They will help you if something goes wrong. You must read each listing carefully and look carefully at the photos the seller provides. Do your research. Reverb provides so much information to help you make sure everything goes as well as possible. Remember Reverb protection protects both buyers and sellers. If something happens to your order documentation is critical. If you know how to use Reverb as a buying and selling platform it works really well.

Everything was going Ok... I bought one which was easier than selling...When I got break down of what I was owed was £4.82 short. So as far as I am concerned this site cannot be trusted to do the maths..Won't be using it again. Its actually got even worse because I havn't been paid 10 days after Synth was shipped and had 5 star from buyer. Reverb says it has paid money to my account. I checked with the bank and they have not had it. so who do I believe. I'm afraid its the bank.

I purchased a Yamaha CK61 through Reverb from Soyora Narita SHIMAMURA MUSIC / 島村楽器 in December 2024. The item was listed in “Very Good” condition and the description stated “No problems with operation.” The instrument later developed serious faults: all C# and F# keys stopped working across the keyboard, and the power switch mechanically works but does not turn the unit off and on. A professional repair technician inspected the keyboard and found likely board-level faults involving the EMKS2N board and power inlet board. He also found internal markings that he said are commonly used by technicians to mark connector and screw positions, indicating that the instrument had been opened internally before his inspection. That internal history was not disclosed in the listing. I provided Reverb with the technician’s findings, photos, videos, the seller’s responses, and the serial number. Reverb declined to intervene because the issue was outside its Buyer Protection window and offered store credit only. I understand companies have policies, but this was not ordinary wear or a cosmetic issue. It was a serious internal fault on an instrument sold as “Very Good” with “No problems with operation.” I am leaving this review so other buyers understand the risk: even when buying from a large retailer through Reverb, if an internal issue is discovered later, Reverb may refuse to help beyond store credit.

Seem to never have a real problem with reverb help at all. Some sellers could be left off the list of trusted but that all part of life in now times. Otherwise help me alot with those hard to find rare items in my run into's with my guitar collection. This time around could once again great a seller to refund without a hassle. Reverb customer service help me right out of the problem. Seem to care way more then some sellers about my hard earned money and the quality I can get with it. Seem to want to be in your side. Gave me a partial refund that seller wouldn't even reply to. Now have Reverb credit for next order. Savings in the bank you might say. And steered me away from another untrustworthy seller....in my eye anyway. Ai was great and moved me right to agent and straight to a great come. Will.be back.... hoping trouble free but always knowing someone is there to help if necessary. And was my 69 th birthday present in a way. All on the same day so a present waiting in my future. Thumbs up on that.
I saw a beautiful Theremin, made an offer, but inexplicably I'm in review and can't start anything anymore. Logging in is now also impossible. I don't understand anything about this company, I already have a number of emails but remain unanswered, I don't think it's fair in relation to the sales either, I would have liked to buy the Kees Enklaar but this company does not cooperate. Hence my 1 star!

I have no issue with import fees if they’re clearly disclosed before I buy. My issue is that Reverb doesn’t prominently warn buyers that international purchases may include significant customs, brokerage, or import charges. Instead, the information is buried in links or fine print. A simple, highly visible notice on every international listing stating, “Additional import duties and fees may apply,” would allow buyers to make an informed decision. My $79.25 UPS import fee came as a complete surprise and turned what seemed like a good deal into a purchase that cost more than buying the item locally. Reverb should make these potential charges impossible to miss.

I have purchased 4 electric guitars and one awesome pre-amp pedal from Reverb in the past 2 1/2 years. My wife thinks I’m crazy, but I couldn’t be happier. Where else can you find virtually any musical instrument that, limited by geography and location, you might never get a chance to procure, but for Reverb! I take a look at things on this great site at least daily - dreaming, drooling, and dawdling over the wares. The safeguards Reverb have in place make the risk virtually nil, so you won’t throw your money away on hidden junk. I really appreciate Reverb - thanks y’all.
