Teachable is a really great platform for offering a value for money training platform. It would be great to see more options for quizes and testing than the simple Q&A that exists and a deeper dive into students course progress would also be welcomed. That aside, Teachable has been a great addition to our training offerings and business development.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review; we really appreciate both your kind words and your feedback. You’re right that more flexibility in quizzes and testing could add value. That’s a great call on student progress insights as well - we do offer course progress tracking and student reports today, and we can definitely understand the need for deeper insights in this area. We’re so glad to hear that the Teachable platform has been a strong addition to your training and business, and we truly appreciate you choosing to use our platform. I'll be sure to share your feedback with our team - thanks so much again!
I am a UK-based course creator who paid $828 upfront for an annual Teachable 'Builder' plan, attracted by their marketing of 0% transaction fees. When my first student paid £750 + VAT for my course, I received only £643.50. On investigation I discovered that Teachable converts every GBP payment to USD for processing, then converts it back to GBP for payout — a systematic double currency conversion applied to every single transaction. Combined with a 3.90% processing fee (significantly higher than standard UK Stripe rates), the result is a material deduction on every sale that is not clearly disclosed at signup. When I raised a formal complaint, Teachable's own customer service acknowledged in writing that their fee structure "may not always be surfaced prominently at signup." Despite this admission, Teachable has formally rejected my complaint in its entirety. They have refused to refund any of the fees deducted from my transaction, and have refused to downgrade my annual plan on a pro-rata basis despite the service being materially different from what was described at the point of sale. I have therefore submitted a chargeback through my bank, and a complaint to the US Federal Trade Commission regarding deceptive pricing practices toward international creators. If you are a non-US creator considering Teachable, I would strongly recommend clarifying exactly how your GBP or non-USD payments will be processed before signing up, particularly on an annual plan.

Teachable makes it simplified to train and/or provide relevant information to people in a simplified and efficient way, and for me it saves me time so that I can focus on the back office stuff needed for my companies growth. This is a go to solution that gives me everything I need and make it as professional as I need it.

I migrated my existing courses to Teachable in 2020 on an annual plan of $348, which included unlimited courses. At the time, this was an ideal option for a growing business just getting started. However, at the end of 2022, I received notice that this plan (unlimited courses) would be downgraded to a limit of only 5 courses. By this time I had already developed 20 courses and in order to continue offering access to currently enrolled students, I was required to upgrade to a Pro plan (yet limited to 25 courses) at $1,188 per year. This left me with little choice but to upgrade. Over the following years, the pricing continued to increase. By 2025, I was paying $1,668 annually for a plan still limited to 25 courses. Not only had the cost increased significantly from my original plan ($348 a year), I no longer had the flexibility to continue creating new courses. Expanding beyond 25 courses would have required upgrading to a plan costing $3,708 per year. Additionally, price changes were communicated with only 30 days notice. In my experience, this is not sufficient time to migrate a full course library and student base to another platform without causing disruption. The amount of work involved in transferring content, students, and communication requires significantly more time to execute responsibly. It felt as though Teachable was aware of how complex and time-intensive it is to migrate a school, which left many users with little practical choice but to continue paying the increasing costs. From my perspective, the combination of increased costs, reduced flexibility, and limited notice created a challenging and frustrating experience. I have since migrated my school to LearnWorlds. A platform that offers so much more and is reasonable in pricing. The transition required a considerable investment of time and effort, but I am ultimately relieved to have moved to a platform that better supports the needs of my business and provides an overall better experience.
Hello Lisa, thank you for sharing your feedback. We recognize that changes to plans and pricing can be impactful for creators. We’ve made updates over time to our plans and pricing to better align with the features and infrastructure required to support creators at different stages, and we aim to provide advance notice to help with planning wherever possible. I’ll also be sure to share your feedback on timing with the appropriate team. We appreciate the time you spent with Teachable and wish you continued success.
Support improved a lot and I really like that! I feel heard.

Hi Theo, thanks very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We really appreciate you choosing to use our platform.
Getting started with Teachable has been a genuinely empowering experience. As someone building a ministry, a brand, and an educational platform all at once, I needed a system that felt professional without being overwhelming — and Teachable delivered exactly that. The setup process was straightforward, the dashboard is clean, and the tools make it easy to bring your ideas to life. I appreciated how quickly I could organize my lessons, upload materials, and structure my curriculum without feeling lost in tech. Even when I had questions, the platform made it simple to find answers and keep moving. What stands out most is how Teachable supports creators who have a bigger mission. Whether you’re teaching faith, business, beauty, or personal development, the platform gives you the structure to build something scalable and high‑quality. It feels like a partner in the process, not just software. If you’re serious about launching courses or building a digital academy, Teachable is a strong foundation to start with.
Hi Kimberly, thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you choosing to use our platform and are so glad that you're enjoying it. We're excited for your journey!
I am hosting a course since a few years. They raised the Price constantly - so it is getting more and more expensive to host a course. I have al lot of enrolled students - so I can not downgrade my plan and have to pay the full price! But I have not enough new students that the yearly price is worth it. So the different Plan(limits) are really really bad - there are other hosting platforms with way better conditions (which didn't exist at the time I started), but for me its really a lot of work to migrate my course so for now there is no other way than paying more and more.

Hi Leesi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We appreciate you choosing to use our platform. Please feel free to reach out to Support if the team can help with anything!
Still deciding. Whilst the platform is ammazing, has a lot of functions and opportunities to develop your courses or programs, the one who is trying to use it has to have a little bit of knowledge in this area and time. It is not the easiest platform to work with if you are in a hurry and you are not the best in I.T. part.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you choosing to use our platform and Support is always happy to help if you have any questions while you're working!
I feel the company is more predatory than before. I chatted to cancel my plan completely and I don't have any confirmation that it was except an email from a customer service person saying I would not receive further bills. What a disappointment. It was one of the best options and even if I were to come back, with the new price plans, it feels impossible. They give you all these deals to not cancel, but what about new people that are just getting started? I've been on the platform for five years and need to step away - customers like me should have a good experience so we come back.
Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback and for being part of Teachable for the past five years. We truly appreciate the time you’ve spent building with us. I can see that Melissa followed up to confirm your cancellation and next steps. If you have any lingering concerns about billing or your account status, we’re happy to double-check that everything is fully resolved. When you’re ready to step back in and reactivate your school, you’re very welcome to reach out to our team to see what current offers may be available at that time. We’d love the opportunity to support you again in the future.
I love the service however the price jump was crazy and I’m struggling every month to pay… I went from paying $69 to now $189… how is that ok?
Hi Carisma! I'll reach out directly so we can talk about your plan. It looks like you were bumped up to the Growth plan because of your number of products, but if you go back down to 5, then you can be on the Builder plan.
Do not subscribe to anything on teachable using a debit card. No matter how many time you cancel you will be rebilled, and end up having to go your bank to get the charges to stop. I have enrolled in 2 courses on teachable and this happened with both courses. One course was $100 monthly, I cancelled in september of 2025 and as of Feburary 2026 I am still being charged. I have even went in and tried to cancel two more times. It will not let you delete your debit card as a payment option once you use it. I spoke with the person running the course and they pretty much told me to piss off. I contacted my bank about the dispute, and they are reviewing it. In the second case, the cost was $30 monthly, i kept getting the recurring charges after cancellation, but once I talked to the person offering the course, they understood and deleted my course access and then refunded my money. If you cancel a service, you get no cancellation confirmation in the form of an email or anything. There is nowhere on teachables site that allows you to contact support directly, and if there is, its extremely hard to find because I have tried multiple times. I have now been charged $500 in total for services I have repeatedly tried to cancel.
Hi Zeb, thank you for sharing your experience. I’m really sorry to hear how frustrating this situation has been. For context, Teachable is the platform course creators use to host and sell their programs, and each school owner manages their own subscriptions, billing, and refunds. That said, unexpected recurring charges are understandably concerning, and we’re always happy to help review what happened. If you ever run into issues canceling or believe charges continued after cancellation, you can reach our team directly at [email protected] and we’ll investigate further. We appreciate your feedback and if anything remains outstanding, we’d be happy to take a look.
