What people say

Easy and convenient key replacement

I bought a single key program kit, and another key. The step by step instructions were easy to follow, and in about 25 minutes I had both keys paired with my truck. The keys are great quality, and I had Tom's cut both keys which was a real time saver. I highly recommend Tom's!

I watched the video 4 or 5 times

I watched the video 4 or 5 times feel like I can do it with no problems so I ordered everything was smooth. Had trouble with getting my photos sent sent email this morning. Instructions come back immediately how to send my photos by email. Everything works great just waiting on my key now thanks.

Google & follow their instructions your solo

They had an online guide starting with pairing your key which I couldn’t get to work. I emailed and called and left a voice mail no one ever got back to me. Today I decided to skip that step and do the rest of the instructions and it worked for my 2013 Honda Civic. I am happy, but don’t depend on their support too much. You are most likely solo lol. I Googled & confirmed that the key pairing is done at the same time as the rest of the instructions then why have it as a separate step in the beginning causing confusion and then no support ? When you call their tech support number you just get into an AI loop when you want to speak to someone and it just gave me the option to leave a message. Why leave a message if no one calls you back? Their AI was quick to answer my pre-sales questions. It just would be nice one you pay $200 to get some support from a person.

Tom's Key - a cut above!

Jack's been super helpful and really responsive. I've been dealing with Internet based vendors for a long time (like 30yrs) and I'd rate my experience with Jack so far at/near the top. My situation is atypical (all keys lost) but Tom's handled my extra questions knowledgeably and quickly. At first, Tom's might appear a bit more expensive than some other vendors but I've found their support - especially for a first timer like me - to be well worth a bit of a premium. 5 Stars would definitely recommend!

Unsuccessful on 2015 Honda Fit

I have a 2015 Honda Fit LX with push button start. Vehicle is strictly stock. In spite of me following the directions exactly and two calls to tech support, the dongle would not properly communicate. Although I had to return everything, the replacement key was high quality and laser-cut by photo was perfect. I had no problem with the return process.

It's a joke

It's a joke Even though their website said the had the key amd programmer what I got didn't and cant work. The instructions also did not match the equipment sent so figuring out why it didn't work was difficult. Now I keep getting emails that "I'm part of the family" HA! And it turns out the dealer is going to replace my fob for only slightly more than these guys charge.

The process went well for my 2011 Dodge…

The process went well for my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. I ordered the EZ Simple Key install kit with an extra fob. I read the instructions fully and watched the programming video for my vehicle (it was really helpful to see it done). The install went so stupidly well and I am so happy with the EVERYTHING. I did call customer support because I pressed an extra button on fob during activation. Got an easy answer from the AI tech support--wait 5 minutes for the key to reset before it can go through the activation again. My error, 5 minutes to wait was no problem. The rest of the install went quickly and took less than another 5 minutes to get my two fobs programmed. Thanks Tom's, i'm putting the money saved on keys into gas for our next road trip.

Amazing support

The video instructions for my vehicle were incredibly easy to follow and all the steps worked for my specific vehicle! I had some trouble with programming the remote on the second key fob but Tom's support quickly responded with the resolution and I was able to finish the job same day!

Highly recommend Tom's Key Company

Used Toms Key Co. for two cars now. Always prompt friendly service. Had trouble pairing a key to my car once and received helpful suggestions on making the pairing process successful. Oh and saved a ton of money too. Highly recommend Tom's Key Company for lost or spare key needs.

Wow what a waste of time

I needed a second key fob after my extra one broke. It took 2 weeks to get the key. I had to dig through the website to find out the "quick easy 15 minute" syncing requires a programmer that I need to rent for $70+$70 security deposit. Another 2 weeks go by, I get the programmer and 2 hours later and 20 error messages the AI customer service bot tells me my vehicle cannot be programmed and to return it. Now it's a week later, Tom's has received my return and I still have not been refunded. The AI told me it takes 14 days to process it and on top of that they are dinging me for the shipping fees! So I am back to zero with no extra key fob. Save your time and go to a local locksmith instead. Oh and you know what the funny thing is? The owner of Tom's Key isn't even named Tom. It's Mike! More lies!

What I liked the most about the service…

What I liked the most about the service how persevering and committed to help the technical support and troubleshooting team is. They didn’t let me down, my car model was a bit special or so it seems and they went far and beyond to figure out. Thank you Toms Key, i definitely recommend!!

Buyer beware

I ordered what I thought was a fob for my Honda for $70. They sent me an empty shell with a key that fits my ignition. This is totally useless will unlock and unlock my doors, but it will not start the car. They offered me a solution for $300 out-of-pocket for one fob stay away from this place. It’s a scam.

Hello Glen, We're sorry to hear that your order was not what you expected. After reviewing your case, it appears the item ordered was a replacement shell/repair kit, which is designed to reuse the existing electronics from your original key fob rather than function as a complete replacement key. We understand how this could be disappointing if you were expecting a fully functional replacement fob. Our team provided the available options based on your vehicle, but we're sorry that the solution did not meet your expectations. We never want our customers to feel misled, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify opportunities to make our product descriptions and compatibility information even clearer. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

tried to get only a key cut from picture.

tried to get only a key cut. no programming. Tom's will not accept you mailing in a blank and picture, to cut blank from picture. Tom's ads are everywhere. they make it appear you can get a key from picture, but toms has a lot of hoops to jump thru. keep searching you will find someone. I found place online that will cut a mail in blank from picture.

Thank you for your feedback—it helps us identify opportunities to better communicate the scope of our services so customers can more easily determine whether we're the right fit for their needs. expensive, but better than the dealership…

Getting a programable replacement key from Tom's Key Co. was a little more complicated than I first thought, as there can be multiple keys for the same year/model of a car. Make it easier on yourself by finding the “FCC ID #” for your key. Once received, they provide written instructions as well as have you refer to a YouTube video (that was not easy to find). Once you have the key, the programmer, and watched the video, it took me less then 15 minutes to have a new working key. Areas of improvement… a longer OBD cable would be nice, and return postage included in the rental of the programmer.

Tom’s Key Company saved me a ton of money. I called a locksmith and a hardware store and it was a nightmare. Wanted $300.00 and schedule appointment which was three weeks out. Tom’s Key. Cut me a new key and sent me a programmer with in a week, at half the cost with refundable security deposit. Customer service was awesome, Mariah resolved my issue with no problem quickly and efficiently. Great experience, highly recommended this company.
