However, some customers also noted significant issues with severely delayed shipments, unsealed boxes, and missing components. People additionally mentioned receiving defective items, encountering unhelpful sellers, and facing difficult obstacles when requesting refunds or resolving disputes. Others expressed deep frustration regarding inadequate customer assistance when serious problems suddenly arose with their valuable purchases.

What people say

Cut out the middle man and go directly to the manufacturers!

Alibaba is an excellent way of speaking directly with manufacturers and cutting out the intermediary. The Trade Assurance that Alibaba offers also gives you peace of mind if by any chance something goes wrong.

Avoid — sent used item as new, then buried me in bureaucracy to avoid refunding

I ordered 2 magnetic frame, clearly listed and paid for as brand new. What I received was visibly used — [scratches/wear/dust/missing seals — be specific]. It did not match the listing photos in any meaningful way. This was not a minor discrepancy; it was a completely different product condition than what I paid for. When I raised a dispute, Alibaba.com closed the case citing a "logistics issue" — a reason that had absolutely nothing to do with my complaint. This alone tells me the case was not properly reviewed the first time around. When I pushed back and appealed, I was told that a mandatory piece of evidence — the original shipping label — was required, despite the fact that no reasonable buyer keeps a shipping label after unpacking a delivered item. This requirement effectively makes it impossible for genuine claims to succeed, regardless of how clear the evidence of the actual problem is. The entire process felt designed to wear buyers down rather than resolve legitimate issues. I would strongly caution anyone considering a purchase through this platform: document everything obsessively, including packaging and labels, because the dispute process will look for any technical reason to deny your claim rather than engage with the substance of it.

Please

Please, please be careful of Alibaba. They are scammers and fraudsters. It's been a month and I still haven't received my $400 refund. They are scammers, don't trust them. Stay away from this site. Is this related to this order, 307175083001026571? Yes?

Trade Assurance Protection Does Not Exist

I purchased a Foshan Jintianpack Automatic Sachet Filling Machine through Alibaba in April 2025, Order #24294006700024170, total cost USD $8,496. The machine arrived faulty — the hopper leaks material, the sealing bar does not seal properly, and the machine cannot produce packets of consistent weight. Two independent certified engineers have confirmed the machine is defective. The supplier, Foshan Jintian Packing Machinery Co Ltd, initially attempted repairs via video call but these failed. They subsequently acknowledged in writing that the machine requires a new auger. They are now ignoring all requests to honour their warranty obligations despite the machine being covered by a two year manufacturer warranty and a one year Trade Assurance warranty offered through Alibaba. Alibaba's chargeback process produced no result. I have now exhausted all available dispute resolution routes. I am actively pursuing the supplier and would caution any buyer considering purchasing industrial machinery through this platform to be aware that warranty protections and Trade Assurance offer no protection.

Regarding the chargeback, please note that the final outcome of a chargeback dispute is determined by your card issuer or card scheme, not by Alibaba.com. Alibaba had the product I was looking for!…

Alibaba had the red-light LED therapy product I was looking for at a very reasonable price. It was hard to find and what I did find somewhere else was very expensive. Now I can treat entire lower leg, from knee to ankle, with one device (2025 Full Leg Therapy Pain Relief). I had never purchased anything from Alibaba before but I'm so glad I did. While delivery took a little longer than I wanted, it was absolutely worth the wait.

Misleading Alibaba Gauantee

We purchased an expensive product from this domain site. Whilst researching we trusted the Alibaba Guarantee and relevant Alibaba backed certified certificates that were associated in regards to the supplier information. We trusted Alibaba would not allow false or misleading company to sell on their domain. Unfortunately we were proven wrong. The item that was delivered does not work and after going through a 3 month refund dispute with Senior Alibaba management - we have not been treated well with the decision. The Alibaba Guarantee, the Alibaba certified certificates and the Supplier Online Performance Index (SOPI) rating (diamond Rating) means absolute nothing. Not a very happy consumer and customer.

I can't recommend Alibaba

Re: I did reach out and when the matter was escalated Alibaba sent me an email saying: "It is recommended to use a supported channel for payment." So nothing was done to rectify the matter. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I'm surprised this platform has been utilized for so long because I've yet to find quality I would want associated with my business. I do have one vendor that I like for personal custom orders, not for my business, but I will not be testing new vendors on Alibaba. The few orders I've made throughout the years all turned out to be low-quality items, dirty, damaged, and even wrong items. I typically never asked for refunds but I did for the two last terrible orders and Alibaba agreed to a return/refund but they took a comission for themselves which was refunded back to me when I involved PayPal. Due to this, they have now blocked all payment methods except for wire transfers. Meaning that if I get a bad order, Alibaba can refuse to refund and a third-party can't resolve the dispute. My seller told me that they also do this when an account leaves bad reviews but I don't know if that's true as I was blocked from leaving a review once they agreed to refund and labeled the order as closed.

7 MONTHS, MISSING GOODS, DELETED SCAMMER, AND STILL NO REFUND

7 MONTHS, MISSING GOODS, DELETED SCAMMER, AND STILL NO REFUND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLATFORM I have been in a dispute with Alibaba for 7 months over missing goods from a freight forwarder operating on their platform. Here is what happened: I ordered 21 items through Alibaba's logistics service. The forwarder repackaged my goods without taking a single photo, provided no packing list, and his own handwritten list — sent to me through the Alibaba chat — recorded only 14 items. 7 items never arrived, despite his own document proving he never had them in his possession. When I raised the dispute, the forwarder demanded extra payment AFTER I had already paid in full, claiming it was for "destination port charges." I refused. He then deleted his Alibaba account DURING the active dispute — which Alibaba has completely ignored. I submitted overwhelming evidence: ✔ Official Sinotrans third-party warehouse document confirming receipt of all goods by the forwarder ✔ The forwarder's own handwritten list proving only 14 of 21 items were in his possession ✔ Supplier weight and volume confirmations from every single supplier ✔ The Bill of Lading ✔ Screenshots of the extra payment demand ✔ Video of the boxes received Alibaba's response after 7 months? They rejected my claim because I didn't film the entire unpacking process. I was not informed anywhere in Alibaba's terms that a full unboxing video is required to make a valid claim. No ordinary person does this, and it is not disclosed anywhere in their buyer protection terms. They offered $300, then $400 as "goodwill" on losses that exceed €1,854 — which is itself the maximum amount their platform even allows me to claim. My actual losses are higher. Case ID: 1000385035438. Order ID: 14100372501024922. Trade Assurance is not buyer protection. It is a marketing tool. If a scammer can delete their account mid-dispute and still win, you have zero protection as a buyer on this platform. Always film every single step of every delivery — and even then, based on my experience, do not expect Alibaba to honour their own buyer protection promise.

🚨 DO NOT TRUST ALIBABA TRADE ASSURANCE…

🚨 DO NOT TRUST ALIBABA TRADE ASSURANCE – EVEN THEIR “SOLUTION” DOESN’T WORK Alibaba publicly replied to my review saying they wanted to look into my case again and provided a link to contact them. THE LINK DOES NOT WORK! ....and when you go to the chat and tell this story, the say the help you and still the same answer, not enough evidance the write.. 16 videos, 6 months with the seller problems, its one bic scame! So even when Alibaba appears to offer a solution publicly, there is still no working way to get help. I purchased more than USD 13,000 worth of equipment and opened two Trade Assurance disputes. I spent months cooperating with the seller under **WARRANTY**, uploaded approximately **16 videos**, photos and screenshots, followed their instructions and repeatedly asked for help. Both disputes were rejected. In one case, Alibaba even wanted me to pay approximately USD 1,000 for an inspection of a machine worth around USD 520 This is not the customer protection Alibaba advertises. Two disputes. Months of evidence. 16+ videos. WARRANTY. No solution. No effective support. And now even the promised contact link does not work. My experience: when something goes seriously wrong, do not assume Alibaba Trade Assurance will protect you.

BEWARE

BEWARE — Order never delivered, guaranteed delivery date ignored, refund stalled for weeks. I ordered cabinet hardware with a stated Guaranteed Delivery Date. The shipment got stuck in LA customs and never moved again. It is now well past a month later and I still do not have my order. When I opened a dispute, Alibaba's Trade Dispute Mediation Team repeatedly reset the evidence submission deadline — at one point the countdown was down to about 2 hours before it was mysteriously reset to a fresh 6 days, with zero explanation. This happened more than once. When I pushed back citing the missed guarantee, they offered me a $100 "discretionary credit" to just keep goods I never even received, and asked me to confirm receipt of an order that was never delivered. The seller was reasonably communicative and even confirmed in writing that a refund would be issued, but Alibaba's own dispute process was the actual obstacle — stalling, resetting deadlines, and offering lowball settlements instead of honoring their own "Guaranteed Delivery" program. I ended up having to file a credit card chargeback to actually get my money back, because Alibaba's own guarantee program did not deliver on its promise. If you're relying on "Trade Assurance" or "Guaranteed Delivery" to protect you here, be aware that in practice it can mean months of stalling instead of an actual guarantee. Buyer beware. REPLY TO ALIBABA: Save the scripted sympathy. This is the same copy-paste line I've been getting for over a month, every single time, in your app, in your emails, and now here. Here's what actually happened, plainly: you gave me a 6-day window to "submit evidence." I submitted it — repeatedly, it's sitting in your own system right now. Then the 6 days expire, and instead of a resolution, you reset the clock to another fresh 6 days. Not once. Repeatedly. That's not a review process, that's a stall tactic dressed up as due diligence (Order #301578863001022807) You also told me customs delays are "outside your control" — fine, except the package isn't delayed, it's lost. Weeks with zero movement isn't a customs backlog, it's a shipment that isn't coming. Your own "Guaranteed Delivery" program is supposed to exist specifically for this scenario, and instead of honoring it, your team offered me $100 to keep goods I never received. I didn't get a resolution from Alibaba. I got it from my credit card company, because your dispute process is built to wear people down until they give up, not to actually fix anything. Don't reply with another canned apology. If you actually want to make this right, process the refund you've owed for weeks — not another link to a bot that resets the same 6-day clock again.
