Many customers note that the upfront booking process makes coordinating relocation details straightforward and manageable. Some reviewers were not happy with late arrivals, as certain teams showed up significantly behind schedule without proper tools. Auto-generated from all reviews of this business. For reference only.Caine and Manuel did a great job! They have helped me move twice now and have been so helpful each time. I highly recommend them.
There were fast and sufficient!! I have a lot of stuff and man they were in and out in an hour. I was really impressed that they I didn’t have a lot of clutter in my new place. My things were neatly placed as best as they could. The guys were communicative and super professional.
Your damage protection policy “by the pound” is an absolute farce. Truly, it’s insulting. After this experience, I can confidently say I will never use Bellhop again, nor will I recommend your service to anyone. In fact, I’ll actively discourage others from putting their trust in a company that handles situations this poorly. The movers were late. My belongings were damaged. And your resolution? A measly $12 because you hide behind a laughable, arbitrary policy that calculates value by weight instead of actual worth or impact. What a disgrace. To add insult to injury, two of the movers didn’t even bother to show up until almost 30 minutes into the move, yet I was charged the full amount. How on earth is that acceptable? Are you even aware of how this looks to your customers, or is this standard practice for you now? Bellhop used to be a service I respected, but it’s clear those days are long gone. This entire experience was a complete joke, and not a funny one. — After a little bit further research about the service and your reputation online, this is how I can summarize what others have said… Bellhops should be ashamed…. Bellhop has received numerous complaints regarding its damage protection policy, which reimburses customers based on the weight of damaged items. This approach often results in settlements that don’t reflect the actual value of the items, leading to customer dissatisfaction. For instance, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has documented cases where customers were offered minimal compensation for valuable items due to this policy. Additionally, customer reviews on platforms like ConsumerAffairs highlight issues such as movers arriving late, unprofessional behavior, and inadequate handling of belongings. These operational problems, combined with the unsatisfactory damage compensation, have contributed to a decline in Bellhop’s reputation. While Bellhop advertises itself as a modern and efficient moving service, the frequency and nature of these complaints suggest systemic issues that the company needs to address to meet customer expectations effectively. Professional and efficient. The movers were very fast and took care with all my things. They were also finished earlier than expected which speaks to their efficiency. Would recommend and use again
Kris, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review!
This is my second time using bellhop and it’s been a pleasure both times!
I was confident I could handle the move by myself, but by the end of packing everything I was exhausted and stressed out. Finding bellhop to help me out at last minute was a blessing. Kirk and Nadir were sent and saved me so much stress on an already stressful day.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Bellhop loading crew showed up exactly on time on moving day but could not locate box truck driver, waited an hour for status, called Bellhop several times but no truck to be found. No ETA for truck available, subsequently AN HOUR LATER Bellhop cancelled leaving us to make other arrangements ON MOVING DAY. Bellhop managed to make a stressful day immeasurably MORE STRESSFUL. I would not recommend Bellhop as it appears Bellhop has no contingency plan in the event that a truck driver fails to report. Their MOVE DAY CANCELLATION caused us enormous stress and additional expense. AVOID THEM.
We regret the inconvenience and frustration you experienced on your move day. This is far from the experience we strive to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the added stress caused by the situation. The delay and subsequent cancellation of your move were due to unforeseen issues with our carrier's truck, which were unfortunately beyond our control. Our team worked diligently to resolve the issue and find a solution, but despite our best efforts, we were unable to proceed with your move as planned. To acknowledge the disruption and inconvenience, we issued a full refund on the day of your move. While this cannot undo the stress caused, we hope it demonstrates our commitment to taking accountability and addressing the issue promptly. Your feedback is valuable, and we are taking steps to review and improve our contingency plans to minimize the likelihood of similar occurrences in the future. If there’s anything further we can do or if you’d like to discuss this matter further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we truly regret the inconvenience caused.
Very professional, compassionate and hard workers.
My team was on time, professional, and completed the job even in the snow!
Fast and friendly workers!
The boys were on time and worked quickly and finished on schedule
Leo and Maurice were great and very efficient. Would recommend
We booked with Bellhop for a move. The reservation was for the 20th of December at 2pm. I was charged in advance for the move which I had no problem with. The reservation was for 2 26 ft trucks 5 movers and 5 hours. The team was over 2 hours late and showed up high, could smell the marijuana. They only brought 1 26 ft trucks and a small 10 ft box truck. We had every box ion main floor to make as easy as possible. I said the entire contents wouldn’t fit with the trucks that they brought. They assured me it would. The proceeded to roughly load trucks and broke and scared furniture. Only half of our items fit and when I said you’ll have to make a second trip they said it would be extra and got very threatening over it. They brought the items they had loaded leaving other half at house. When unloading again were rough with stuff and only brought into garage. I had to rent a truck and finish loading the rest of our stuff myself along with hauling everything from garage to the rooms of the new house. I am a disabled veteran that has a very bad back that struggles with lifting and carrying, which is why I hired a moving company. When I called bellhop they informed me that they could only reimburse me 250.00 of a 2600.00 dollar move saying that was fair compensation. I explained I wanted half back because they only moved half my stuff and they rudely informed me it wasn’t going to happen and I could sue them. Which I plan to do !!! If you are thinking about using this company please be advised. They are not an actual moving company. They are brokers that hire out cheapest bid and keep the rest. I gave a 1 star rating only because you can’t give a negative one Kevin O’Neill After review bellhop responded that in contract extra trips would have to be adjusted, however if movers would have provided the rights size truck that was paid for then there would be no need for second trips so that doesn’t follow under the companies guidelines. I paid for 2 26 ft trucks and was only provided with 1 26 ft truck and a box truck so bellhop didn’t not live up to there end of contract. This will be forwarded to better business bureau, consumer affairs and my attorneys
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret that your experience did not meet expectations and understand your frustration. We sincerely apologize for the delay and the challenges you encountered with the team’s performance. Your concerns about the movers’ behavior and handling of items are taken seriously and will be reviewed internally. Regarding the completion of your move, our terms and conditions outline that any additional services, such as a second trip, are subject to extra charges as we are a pay as you go company. While we acknowledge the inconvenience caused, this is standard industry practice and was communicated during booking. To address your dissatisfaction, a $250 adjustment was provided as a goodwill gesture, recognizing the challenges you faced. This adjustment exceeds what is typically provided under the circumstances. We understand that this experience was frustrating, and we regret that you are dissatisfied with the resolution. However, we stand by the terms of the services agreed upon and the compensation already issued. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve our services. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns.
My experience with Bellhop was an absolute nightmare, and I regret ever hiring them. I used them for what should have been a simple 2-hour move from North Carolina to Virginia, but it turned into a series of headaches and damages that I’m still dealing with. For the price I paid, I expected at least a baseline level of professionalism and care, but what I got was far from it. The loaders, while young, friendly, and seemingly capable, treated my items with zero respect. They disassembled my baby’s crib, my master bed frame, and another bed frame, only to strip screws during reassembly, lose bed slats, and fail to keep screws organized. The end result was furniture I couldn’t even reassemble properly without additional costs and effort on my part. It only got worse during the unloading process. My $2,600 TV was damaged, and my center table’s glass was completely shattered. Instead of taking responsibility, Bellhop offered me an insulting $40 settlement for all the damages. Their customer service was equally awful—when I attempted to file a claim to seek reimbursement for my losses, they dismissed my concerns and refused to make things right. It’s clear they don’t stand behind their services or care about their customers. For the high prices they charge, this level of negligence and disregard is inexcusable. Hiring Bellhop was a huge mistake, and I would never recommend them to anyone. If you value your belongings or your sanity, stay far away from this company. They’re overpriced, careless, and completely unaccountable for the damages they cause. This was by far the worst moving experience of my life, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Avoid Bellhop at all costs.
