Conversely, a small portion of people felt that certain employees provided exceptional assistance and knowledge, going above and beyond for the shopper's needs. Some reviewers experienced timely and efficient deliveries, or found store associates genuinely helpful with product guidance. Conversely, other individuals pointed out problems like receiving damaged appliances, instances where delivery drivers left items inappropriately, or receiving inaccurate items after ordering online.

The associate who loaded my order seemed unusually concerned about how I opened the rear hatch of my van. I prefer using my key fob to open it. It took about a second and caused no delay or inconvenience. He initially sarcastically asked whether the overhead button “didn’t work.” I thought the comment was unnecessary, so I let it slide and didn’t respond. Apparently that wasn’t enough, because after loading my order he decided to circle back and give me a tutorial on how to operate my own vehicle. I explained that I simply preferred using the key fob. He scoffed under his breath, “Yeah, but you don’t have to,” and walked off. Got it. Thanks. I’ll treasure the one second I save. Meanwhile, he released my order without ever checking my ID, even though identity verification is part of the curbside pickup process. It was odd to see so much attention devoted to correcting a harmless personal preference while the actual pickup procedure was skipped entirely. I don’t mind suggestions when they’re relevant, but there was no reason for this interaction to become condescending. If Home Depot has a preferred way for customers to open their own vehicles, that expectation should be communicated professionally. Otherwise, customers should be free to use whichever method they prefer, especially when it has no effect on the pickup process
I had ordered a light fixture from Home Depot Online. I also ordered some light bulbs which unfortunately were delivered all broken. So I took the light bulbs to the Home Depot on Harrisburg Rd. There I am very happy to say that I had great experience as I met an employee who told me that these were special order light bulbs and had to be ordered, but it would be better to order them to be delivered not to my house but to the Home Depot. That way if they were broken they would be returned quicker and I would only be notified when they arrived and were not broken. I also was informed that I could use a higher wattage light bulb which I really wanted to do but I wasn't sure about it. The gentleman who was assisting me was extremely knowledgeable. I do think that home Depot has really picked up their game with customer service. It was a real pleasure dealing with this gentleman by the name of Malachi. I do think that people who do a great job should be mentioned and given credit where credit is due.
Home Depot is a suckass company, and I fully understand why it has a very bad 1.8 star overall rating. Their selection of products is pretty good, but their customer service is AWFUL! Below are two examples of when I was treated disparagingly by Home Depot: 1) In 2003, I purchased some shrubs from them that had a one-year warranty. After only a couple of weeks after planting them, they dried out and died, even though I watered them and took great care of them. When I tried to refund them to the Customer Service of the local Home Depot store here in Ann Arbor, on Carpenter Road, both the supervisor and a higher level manager were argumentative towards me. The manager claimed the shrubs were covered under some type of "Grandfather Clause" BS. He offered me only a Home Depot gift card, which I quickly turned down. I demanded my money back right then and there. After arguing with me, the manager said I had the option of contacting the corporate office of Home Depot in Atlanta, GA, regarding this matter, which I did right away. I was able to get my refund, but should not have had to work so hard at it. 2) In 2023, I purchased a LG washer and a LG dryer online. When the deliverymen dropped off our washer and dryer, they never hooked either one up for us. They just dropped them off in our basement and left very quickly and didn't utter a word. I wasn't in the basement with them, so I never knew what occurred until they came back upstairs. I specifically remember complimenting how fast they hooked up everything. It was like maybe 5 to 10 minutes they were in our home. But when I went in the basement after the deliverymen left, I was totally shocked! Neither the washer nor the dryer were hooked up and were still in the plastic wrapping and not plugged in to the power. I paid for installation ahead of time. I called the deliverymen, and one of them argued with me on the phone. He claimed that he explained to me while at our home why they couldn't install our washer and dryer, but that was a baldface lie! They left without saying a damn word to me. I complained to the local Home Depot store here in Ann Arbor, and they contacted the deliverymen, and one of them returned to our home a week later and installed ONLY the washer. He was extremely rude, hostile and claimed my dryer was more than 4 feet from the gas line to qualify for installation. I ended up having to contact a maintenance guy I knew to install our dryer. I definitely do not recommend Home Depot to anyone else.
Home Depot has continuously failed to fulfill online orders. Usually half of the items I order arrive late (all on different days, one item at a time, which is annoying) and the other half never arrive at all. Going into a brick and mortar Home Depot store is fine/meh/whatever, but their online ordering system is completely dysfunctional. I will not be ordering from homedepot.com any more.
I've been shopping at Home Depot for a while and they consistently deliver. Their selection is great. No complaints.
SOME GENIUS AT MALVERN HOME DEPOT JUST DETERMINED THEIR INDUSTRIAL PIPE THREADER IS NOT MADE TO THREAD GALVANIZED PIPE. WHAT A JOKE. I’VE BEEN GETTING 3/4”PIPE FOR RAILINGS FOR 25 YEARS. MALVERNS INVENTORY IS ALSO ALWAYS INCORRECT. SAVE YOURSELF TROUBLE AND GO TO DOWNINGTOWN. THEY HAVE THE SAME MACHINE AND CONTINUE TO STOCK AND THREAD GALVANIZED PIPE!
Awful experience. 2 items were supposed to be delivered 1 day after order. Now, 4 days delayed. Never order online though them!
Never use this company don't get your goods and been waiting 5 months for a refund still waiting all they do is steal your money
The workers at the home depot in Ferguson are always helpful. I have always liked home depot over Lowes.
I ordered a washer and dryer for my daughter to be delivered. A delivery date and time was set, but on the day they were to deliver they rescheduled at the end of the day to the next morning, 3-7 a.m. I canceled, naturally and they really didn't care. They also have not issued the full credit amount back to my card. I will never purchase from them again!
I wanted to rent a truck from home depot in Boynton beach location and I change my mind at the counter it was to expensive I never took the truck from there lot and ask him to cancel the rental the guy said it’s canceled and a day later I get calls from home depot 800 number to return the truck I said I never rented the truck and they keep calling me I spoke to the rental manager his name was kale and he confirmed true there cameras that I never took the truck he said he will take care of it and close the contract 2 days later I get a charge for 426$ for 3 days and 16 hours I went back to the store and spoke to him and assistant manager and he said that they credit my account they are layer I have to go true a credit card dispute please do your self a Favre do not rent anything there unless you want to go true this
Ordered 2 toilets online, had to reschedule delivery because house under construction wasn't ready. Finally got to delivery date and received 4 hours window for delivery. Stayed home all day. No delivery, email or text notification. Called and they said out of stock! Canceled order and picked up toilets from Lowes.
My purchase of a refridgerator and dishwasher from Home Depot was the worst experiance spending $1476.77. I had to remove a door so we could bring the fridge in. Upon delivery I paid for installation of the dishwasher which they could not do because they carried only one size of supply hose so it was returned. The fridge was installed and turned on. When the fridge was cold we filled it with the food we had in coolers. The next day the fridge stopped working and we had to throw out all the food. Take the door off again so we could return the fridge. I ordered the dishwasher again and just had it delivered. I bought a universal dishwasher kit that Home Depot sells and installed it myself. I didn't hang the door waiting for the replacement refrig. Upon delivery they had to switch how the door opens and get the fridge running. When we started filling the fridge we noticed the door rubbed when closing. I called customer service and they said they would send a tech out to fix it. He came and said send it back to get a new one and someone would call us. NO ONE called us. So far I missed 6 partial days of work, 3x's removed and refilled fridge, 3x's took kitched door off and put back and will loose another half day of work waiting for them to pick up this refrig. Home Depot CEO Ted Decker, is this how you treat your loyal customers?
I ordered 420 pieces of 12x12 tiles two days ago. During checkout, I was promised that the delivery team would call me before arriving. They did call, but I missed it by only 20 seconds. I immediately called them back multiple times, but no one answered, and the delivery truck left anyway. I then called the Home Depot hotline and spoke with a store manager named Dale. He treated me terribly, acted completely indifferent, and told me "it is what it is." This is unacceptable customer service for a major purchase. I need corporate to look into this store's management and resolve my delivery.
Bought Redwood fencing, built the fence and every board warped. Yes I put good 2x4 backing. Hot happy at all.
My recent experience with the Corona store on Ontario Ave was unpleasant. One manager I spoke with said she could help but did not. I wish I could remember her name because I would mention her by name. I asked for the store manager which I was told was Summer. I was not able to speak with her so I asked for a call back. Nothing! So much for good customer service.
I went into the Home Depot right before closing of course to not very much helpful but one lady reluctantly took my money and put it on my credit card and she said she remember me and I did it before and she's really rude told me I wasn't nice I couldn't believe it I never been posted that I asked about which way you scan it nothing then it's like don't do that do this you're not nice I'm going to do you like you do me and never heard of you unmannered people there anyways Fairfax Circle store location I have a good friend who works there but you know they just hire anybody and they're not paid to be be nice and I don't have to be nice to them purely a transaction when you talk takes too much time just to ask them a question and then verify it on the calling credit card people so just they get a payment is all you got to do you don't have to talk to these people they act like like you're supposed to be their friend no stars for Home Depot Fairfax Circle customer service Virginia
Home Depot delivered an $800.00 dishwasher and told my spouse that she had 48 hrs to install it and if it doesn’t work calls them and they will pick it up. But after 48 hrs deadlines your are out of luck and that is their policy. I am out of town until next week and will install it my self when get home. The bottom lines is that Home Depot wants to install it when they delivered their product and that I think they implemented the 48hrs policy. To make the long story short. I told Home Depot to pick your product up I am done. After 40+ years with them and many deployments I’ve ran into this BS. Hey Home Depot there are some us old timers that DYI and not depending on your so called over priced professional installation craps.
Purchase a refrigerator and paid for haul to remove and was never removed. Called Customer Care and didn't assist me. Contact Home Deport Corp office and spoke to Eric 800-319-8108 and he was able to assist me with my issue and I'm very happy with his assistance.
