What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. A general feeling amongst customers points to substandard customer service and significant issues with delivery logistics. Many consumers recounted difficulties with interactions, such as extended hold times, being hung up on, or receiving disrespectful treatment from staff and management. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that certain employees provided exceptional assistance and knowledge, going above and beyond for the shopper's needs. Some reviewers experienced timely and efficient deliveries, or found store associates genuinely helpful with product guidance. Conversely, other individuals pointed out problems like receiving damaged appliances, instances where delivery drivers left items inappropriately, or receiving inaccurate items after ordering online.

What people say

Item out of stock, would honor promotion as soon as item came in.

Items were in my shopping cart, one item was out of stock. A customer service representative put a note to notify me when item came in. Told me when dewalt item came in would put all 3 items in dewalt promotion. Buy one main item, get 2 free. I call in to do this, customer service said could not do this for me. Ofcourse promotion is now over. Terrible way to treat your customers.

Disjointed service leads to big problems

Ugh, we ordered a lift chair online thinking it would save us the time, trouble and headaches of trying to get to the store while being full-time caregivers to our disabled family member. Home Depot uses a different company for delivery. We had a delivery scheduled, blocked off time to be home, and the delivery was rescheduled twice without prior warning and eventually left on the front porch were we are physically unable to move it ourselves. Not a huge deal if the assembly service we paid for came quickly and it hadn't been left outside for 8 days and counting now. Finally, Home Depot works with YET ANOTHER company that does their assembly. That company has been IMPOSSIBLE to get scheduled with. Every attempt made on our part ends in "they will call you back". Days go by, no phone call and we start again. All this time, the box is still on the porch blocking part of our entryway. All in all, ordering from Home Depot has been so disjointed and inefficient that I will never order from them again. I felt torn doing business with Home Depot to begin with because we had previously been boycotting Home Depot for political reasons. Now, I know that on top of that, their service is terrible.

We bought and paid for new washer and dryer from HomeDepot. Was suppose to get them today. The our address has a 9 in it but the stupid driver was dropping off our appliances at another house with a 9 but different street. Dryer was damaged and it would take another week to get a replacement. Sent both back. Homedepot outsources their deliveries and other services. Had bad experience with carpet installers as well. Never again from HD.

Extremely Disappointed With Home…

Extremely Disappointed With Home Depot’s Return Policy I purchased a microwave from Home Depot only three days ago. When we went to install it, we discovered that it did not fit the space. The microwave is still brand-new and in the original box. I called Home Depot immediately to explain the situation and was told flat out that I could not return it. I understand having policies, but refusing a return on a brand-new, unused appliance purchased only three days earlier is completely unreasonable. This is terrible customer service and not how a loyal customer should be treated. Be very careful before purchasing an appliance from Home Depot, because apparently, once you buy it, you may be stuck with it—even when it is unused and still in the box.

I will NEVER order an appliance for delivery from Home Depot again. They tried delivering my appliance 3 hours prior to delivery time when I wasn’t at home. They called me from my driveway and I told them I wasn’t home since it wasn’t within the delivery window but could be back within an hour. They said ok. Then proceeded to take a picture and say my item was undelivered because we weren’t home. Now they won’t be able to deliver for 2 more days. We are canceling the order and demanded they refund the delivery fee since they messed up. 10 years ago we had a very similar experience and I should’ve learned from that. Never again!

Fantastic customer service

I gave Patrick of Sherman TX a 5 start review the other day. Now I want to give him another one and also add Eryxx in customer service in Sherman one also. Spectacular help in submitting a warranty claim on a hot water heater. Great folks, give them both a raise. The represent HD very well!

I purchased a washer

I purchased a washer, June 2025 It’s July 26 washer broke repair man said over $1000 to repair the defective drum. I went to Home Depot to talk to one of the managers and he looked at me like I was crazy. I currently have a Home Depot credit card that I’m gonna pay off as soon as possible.

Home Depot Delivery is Horrible

Ordered a refrigerator, due to be delivered Saturday. Delivery showed up and refrigerator was damaged and was told they had no more in stock. Wife reordered a different one with a delivery date of Monday. Monday received a text message that it would not be delivered until Tuesday. Tuesday arrived and was given a 4 hour window with tracking. Truck was 1 stop away and I received a phone call stating that the truck broke down and they now would deliver it on Thursday. I cancelled the order. When I went to make sure a refund was being issued for both refrigerators I ordered I was told both credits had been issued and e-mails would follow. The second order was a full refund but the 1st order (damaged unit) they wanted to charge me $39 for delivery. I had to make two phone calls to convince them that I should not have to pay a delivery fee for a damaged item that was not delivered. Needless to say, I went to Lowes and purchased a different unit.

I ordered some flooring on their website and specifically requested it to be delivered on a specific date. It was delivered within a few days a week before the date requested and they just left it on the sidewalk. Also I called their customer service. When I got an email informing me that it would be delivered early. The representative put me on hold for quite a period of time and when they returned, they assured me that the product would be delivered on the day I requested.

Be careful of the 48 hr window of Home Depot Leander

I advise people to carefully check what they buy from the newly opened Home Depot Leander esp large items bcoz they have a 48 hr window from date of delivery wherein you can no longer return or replace a defective product. Everything happened within a week from date of delivery. We bought a new clothes dryer and it was a lemon! It runs but has no heat and clothes remained damp. Home Depot refused to replace it. It was worth almost $700. We bought a Maytag 7 cu ft clothes dryer. As i type this, im talking to Maytag customer service. It's a very painful experience especially in these very difficult times. My $700 is gone for buying a defective appliance. - Roselle C.

They sent me a coupon which I went in the store and purchased product and tried to redo the coupon and the person working at the checkout, tried to scan it, and it didn’t work and when asked about it, her response was take it up with Home Depot. I then went down to customer service and tried to get an answer there and got pretty much the same answer there they have no idea what’s going on. It should work take it up with Home Depot. I called the one 800 number for Home Depot that transferred around and put on hold wasted 25 minutes with no response and hung up the Home Depot and it’s location in Elyria Ohio are some of the worst customer service of any retail establishment. We have a Lowe’s on the other side of the highway literally a couple minutes away, and they actually care about their customers.

Spent hours looking for carpet at Home…

Spent hours looking for carpet at Home Depot. Finally chose a carpet and talked to customer service. I wanted a 9'x12' HIGH DOLLAR carpet so we could make a large area rug. Would have ben $600. Home Depot first question did their estimator come out and measure-- They would not sell me any carpet since they only allow their installers to install and no other way. Never had a HD installer do a good job and should of went to a different company!

The ai was "not allowed" to help

The ai was "not allowed" to deduce whether or not the gas strut I was attempting to purchase was prefilled or not. Upon incredibly close inspection the product said that it was sealed and could not be maintained. Which would imply directly that it was in fact prefilled and that their customer avoidance robot just doesn't work. Even after pointing this out, it told me directly that it is not allowed to use dimensions, no matter how obvious, to answer questions and that if the statement was not quoted directly in the description, it could not even mention it. It's just a glorified hardware store parrot, just reading to you condescendingly instead of helping you with information that you would not have been able to discern just from reading the product description.

Don't buy at Home Depot

On June 23rd, 2026 we bought an LG washer & dryer from Home Depot. On our first wash the washer made clunking sounds – like there was loose change inside or a zipper on some clothes. That was not the case! We called Home Depot and were told it’s not their problem – it’s LG’s problem. We called LG and the excuses were abundant. Eventually, two guys from LG showed up a few days later. All’s we heard from them, over and over, was that they are not technicians and any weird noise or problem had to be handled by technicians. We again called LG and the excuses were aplenty. Bottom line is that no technicians would be dispatched. What of the extended warranty we paid for. The woman from LG had no record we had an extended warranty. We had to scan and submit the proof of purchase of the extended warranty to the email address we were given. Back to square one. Next, we were told to provide the serial number. That same woman told us it’s not a valid number. We again had to take a picture, scan it, and submit it to the email address. The washer was then verified. Now we were told to take a video, with sound, of the washer making this noise. Until then, no technician would be dispatched. She then ended the call. What excuse is next? What hoop are we supposed to jump through next? So much for buying an extended warranty when nobody is willing to help. In the meantime, we are without a washing machine. Additionally, the woman from LG was short with us and rather rude. How dare we complain of an LG product having problems – warranty or not! We can’t return the washer to Home Depot because they have a 48-hour return policy on LG products. We were told by that woman at LG that we can’t return the washer as LG has a 14-day return policy. So, here we sit with a washer that doesn’t work right and our extended warranty means SQUAT!
