Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Customers frequently mention that the staff members are exceptionally friendly, patient, and professional when handling anxious pets. Consumers find the appointment booking process very straightforward, and many are thoroughly impressed by how smart and clean their dogs look after a grooming session. Some reviewers were not happy with significant price increases, unexpected extra charges, and feeling like they did not receive good value for their money. A few other people also felt that staff members could be impolite, lacking proper communication, or occasionally handling pets in a less gentle manner during appointments.

I took my small toy poodle size dog to the groom room to have him washed and clipped. I was quoted £38 on an initial consultation. When I went to collect him I was charged £55. When i queried the cost,I was told "well I don't make the prices"..no personality whatsoever! As I thought she didn't do such a bad job. when it came to get him clipped again, I rang for a quote first, the same person told me £65. Well I wont be back!!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO THEM, especially if they are a husky! My two boys went in and they sprayed one with a hose, brought him out, didn't put a harness on him, no ear defenders, and then CLAIMED HE BIT THEM! I took a video of it all and was proved there was no aggression! Put a complaint in and the refunded but no disciplinary action. Avoid at all costs the woman in this salon os atrocious, she's rude and she lies, they obviously dont know how to deal with huskys, they also claimed our other boy bit them whilst in the bath (he was bone dry) she brought him out and started stroking him! They were in there for all of about 5 minutes.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the groom room . I brought my puppy, who is only three months old, in for a routine grooming, and she came out looking completely butchered. Our puppy was matted so we fully understood that she needed shaved but they completely left her face and shaved the rest of her body her face was uneven, cut far too short in places, and she seemed very stressed and uncomfortable afterward. This was not just disappointing ,it was upsetting and completely avoidable with proper care and attention. I trusted the groomers with my young puppy, and the result was unacceptable. I would not recommend this grooming service, especially for puppies or small dogs, as it seems clear they lack the experience or care needed for such delicate work. We were also told because our puppy was scared they would have to use two members of staff which would work out 70 pound each for one hour and a half on a 1kg dog !!! We where also told that she would have to be sedated in future if our puppy wasn’t trained to sit a peace ,Avoid at all costs !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have taken our puppy here before and his first he was pretty good. Still only 6 months old so some puppy biting but apart from that groomer said he was alight. The second time we took him, first of all we booked for 9am to then be told they didn’t have space for him? So had to take him all the way back home until 11.45 - minding on we’d structured an entire routine for his 9am groom. We then took him, I got a phone call 20 minutes after which I missed, tried to phone back with no answer. Was told on the phone was nothing to worry about so didn’t think much of it. I then received a phone call 20 minutes later telling me they couldn’t groom him because he was being aggressive - very unlike him. When we went to get him he was MUZZLED AND ON HIS OWN IN THE BACK FREAKING OUT!!! I can understand if this was atleast left in the voicemail or I was phoned continuously. But now our poor boy is probably traumatised for life. Extremely unhappy and very very unprofessional.
I visited the Greenford branch on 18th March and clearly informed your staff beforehand that my dog has extremely sensitive skin and is prone to allergies. Despite specifically raising this concern, it appears that unsuitable products or treatments were still used during the grooming session. Since that visit, my dog’s condition has noticeably deteriorated. He has developed white flaky residue on his legs, increased licking and irritation, hair fall, discomfort around his face and eyes, reduced energy levels, and he has even stopped walking properly and avoids walks much more than before. This behaviour is completely unlike him and started after the appointment. I waited before raising this complaint in the hope that his condition would improve naturally, but instead he continues to struggle with what now appears to be some form of skin infection or severe irritation, possibly yeast-related or bacterial. It is extremely upsetting to see my dog suffering despite clearly warning your staff about his skin sensitivities in advance. I am now formally requesting: - Full details of all products and treatments used during the session - An explanation of why products unsuitable for sensitive skin may have been used despite prior warning - Escalation of this complaint to senior management for immediate review - Appropriate action and accountability regarding this incident - A full refund for the grooming service due to the distress and health issues caused afterward If this matter is not handled seriously, I will have no option but to escalate the complaint further through formal reviews, consumer complaint channels, and veterinary documentation if required.. I waited for some time before raising this concern, hoping it might improve on its own, but unfortunately, his condition has not returned to normal. I am now genuinely worried and do not understand what may have been done or used during the session that could have triggered this reaction. I would appreciate it if you could provide details of the products used and the procedures carried out during his visit. This situation is concerning, and I would like clarity and accountability regarding what has happened. I look forward to your prompt response.
I have taken my two dogs to The Groom Room on a few occasions for a bath and brush but never been overly happy with the result for the price. They still had loose hair and areas of the undercoat still looked dull / soiled. As the attitude of the staff was also variable, I was seriously considering going elsewhere but didn't get around to researching options. The last appointment I had at The Groom Room was in March 26. The appointment was for 2pm. When I arrived, the salon was closed. I had not been notified of this. At 2.15pm, I received an apologetic phone call to tell me that the salon was closed due to staff sickness!! I explained that there was no point notifying me after the appointment time. The person said I would receive a further call the next day to rebook the appointment. That call never came. This was perhaps the trigger I needed to look elsewhere and so I did. I wished that I had done this earlier because I have found a salon that is absolutely brilliant, the lady takes more time and is very keen on detail and finish. This salon is only a little more expensive but with a much better result and worth every penny.
Took our toy poodle in for a groom yesterday and I am extremely angry with the outcome. Firstly they said she was all matted which was a lie as she gets brushed every other day, they said they would need to shave her we asked to keep some length on her we picked her up and she was completely scalped. I am not happy with this and I will be going to the papers about the issue. I am un able to attach pictures but hopefully everyone will see it when it goes to the papers
Very unsatisfied visit, 2 one year old husky’s 1st groom, came out smelling worse than when they went in. Paid extra for the bandana tooth brush etc this wasn’t done! The groomers didn’t seem like dog people just one in one out. Poor customer services won’t be returning.
I spent £45 on a grooming session for my pug , supposed to be from 4 until 5 . The previous dog took longer so i handed over my pug at 4.15 knowing she wouldnt be seen then as the girl was still trimming her previous dog and had a call at 4.50 to say she was ready . I asked if they had really groomed her as they have double coats and need time and she said yes . I was rightly suspicious , i could have done better myself and have had hairs everywhere since i had her back . I totally wasted my money and will never go back.
Avoid. I’ve been let down twice now, within a month! both times my appointment was cancelled when I arrived. They blamed sickness but made no effort to contact me beforehand. Completely unacceptable to have customers travel for nothing. Very poor customer service.
The staff are rude and unhelpful, and the service is terrible. While the staff did a full groom, they shaved into the skin on his back, and i had to get him some cream and antiseptic for the injury, and the staff wouldn't apologise they just said he wouldnt keep still and that they needed 2 staff to hold him but he is just a one-year-old, very placid and very small dog.
I booked my 2 frenchies in 4 signature groom very very disappointed one of my boy's still had shampoo not washed out correctly and they were both rushed in and out 30min and it was over not happy at all and never be using this service again 40quid each 4 half an hour awful 👎👎👎👎👎👎 as the night has went on i can't tell if one of my boy's has oil or just a shit wash excuse my language never ever will we go there again I can do better myself in bath outrageous 80quid 4 shit
Had a voucher to use so I decided to book my dog in for the signature bath and brush, nail clip etc. The groom itself seemed ok - I’m glad I didn’t pay full price, though. My dog was in and out in half an hour. Easy enough to book. The customer service part wasn’t great. I just felt like a burden, despite the fact I was polite and on time. Very impersonal experience.
Sasha did an absolutely brilliant job with my dog! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at ease, and it was clear she genuinely cares about the animals she works with. As it was our first time at the groomers, I was a bit nervous, but Sasha kept my dog calm and comfortable throughout the entire process. The end result was fantastic—my dog looks amazing, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I took my dachshund cross, Molly, for her first professional Groom last week. Previously she has only had her nails clipped here, but her coat had become rather tangled. Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of the young lady who groomed Molly, but she is the one who usually clips her nails. I just wanted to say how very pleased we were. Molly is rather nervous and I really didn’t want her coat trimmed back too much. Also, there was only one hour available rather than 1 1/2 hours. The groomer did a lovely job and Molly now looks very smart. Thank you very much.
The groom room Swansea looks an absolute mess, when I arrived with my dog, there was hair all over the place they put my dog up on to a table that was dirty, the two women working there were rather rude, they scalped my dog claiming he had Matts around his neck area, personally I think they were just lazy, he has never had a problem with the groomers in the groom room in Cardiff, it will be worth the round trip to receive professional service !
My 8mth old went for her first real haircut and groom today and she came out looking fabulous! The staff are so lovely, friendly and really care about the dogs. I can’t thank you enough and Beany is also thankful at how beautiful you made her and how well you looked after her . Highly recommend!!
I was overcharged and when I asked why, her explanation made no sense. I have a toy poodle and I was charged as a medium size dog. I asked for a full standard groom and I was charged for a signature full groom. Her reason was that it had been longer than 8 weeks since the previous groom. So what? I trim him myself between grooms so it wasn't matted or too long. I think it's shameful. And then, they don't give you the deposit back when you pay. They say they'll send it to you. So they keep the money for a few more days. I'm not sure this is even legal. Won't be going again.
