It is very expensive, and I do not recommend it; you are essentially forced to pay for a plug-in —such as Elementor—just to be able to properly edit the site. Worst of all, it handles CSV files very poorly. If you are building a site for aftermarket parts, I strongly advise against using this platform, as creating such a site will be a massive headache. They really need to improve this and allow users to easily edit their sites without having to pay for additional plug-in ; otherwise, the annual cost ends up exceeding $2,000—not to mention the additional fees required for ongoing maintenance and plug-in

They make things so much more complicated then it needs to be. Oh yeah and it's 800$ to start a E commerce site. You have to pay by the year you can't do it by the month. 800$ is alot to a buisness trying to get on its feet. That didn't include domain or freelancers if you need one because their platform is so messy and all over the place. Good luck building a website with them cuz you'll get frusterated and quit long before you'll ever turn a dollar. Just try vibe coding it is much much better and easier to do. And you can host your e commerce sites right from the vibe coding platform. I recommend onspace.ai or emergent.sh. WordPress is going to go the way of the dodo bird 🦤 cuz vibe coding is taking over. Great! I've ditched elementor and using Gutenburg alone. So much simpler. The addition of 'Claude" ai assistant has taken things up a notch as well. If you have a wordpress self hosted site do yourself a favor and switch to wordpress.com hosting. Leave the heavy lifting to them and start creating!

This is the worst website builder I’ve ever used. It’s extremely complicated to use, and navigate, with bare minimum options for font colours, templates, sizing etc, it’s so frustrating we give up within minutes! We have premium, and it’s still a HUGE waste of money! There are barely ANY options even for that.
We want a refund due to the ridiculous amount of money we paid, thinking it would be a breeze, and be a great selection to create our website, but the AI chat bot says you only have 14 days to ask for one! We are not happy at all. We’ve told many friends looking for a website builder to stay away from this! It’s not worth the price, time or frustration trying to create just 1 page!!

They are blocking long term repeat customers for no good reason
I tried to set up my third account and website with wordpress.com today (anrogha26-ijzpo.wordpress.com) but I was blocked from paying for a subscription and customer service only gave me a half ass reply claiming that they have the right to block it and too bad, suck it up.
My first account has been with wordpress for over half a decade, wordpress if you read it, pls check: cegalapitasirorszagban447531541.wordpress.com, and I bought my second subscription in Dec 2025: composthitthefan-yxbqv.wordpress.com
I am not a fraud, don't have any ulterior motives, these are all perfectly legit, officially registered businesses. So dear wordpress, what the heck is wrong with you for blocking repeat customers that have been with you for over half a decade with zero, I mean Z.E.R.O. issues whatsoever???? I understand you have the right, you just don't have a lot of brains if you do that!
So I had to go to Godaddy and set up my third business website there. You can see: lighthouse-bk.com
Voilá, just like that, another perfectly legit, officially registered business. And just like my other 2 wordpress subscriptions, I also paid this one for a full year in advance. No fraud, no problem, no ulterior motives. So what the hell is YOUR problem, wordpress?
You could have looked into it manually, could have asked for proof or verification or reference if I already have any other accounts or something, and manually check why your system is overreacting and blocking perfectly legit, long term, repeat customers.
Hubris is not a business plan wordpress, with 3.6 star rating here and blocking long term repeat customers, it's not exactly a bright future you guys are facing!
And nope, no need to unblock the third account, that business is with Godaddy already and it's gonna stay there. It's clearly a good idea to diversify these days, with your level of arrogance and the complete lack of business sense, who knows how long I can rely on you for the other 2 websites...

If I could give less stars I would. Terrible service. Im spending almost $300 a month for email services for my company and they don't even work. Why offer a service if you can't maintain it or diagnosis issues efficiently. I'll be taking my business else where and I hope everyone avoids this terrible service.

A family member made a website for a college class over ten years ago using Wordpress. Put a resume on it. Life goes on and they forget about the site. Now, I'm googling family members for fun and this site pops up as the first result on Google. It has sensitive PII. They want to delete the site because they now understand privacy concerns better than they did when they were in college. The thing is...the email account used to create the site no longer exists, because the family member is no longer affiliated with that college, and hasn't been for over ten years. They cannot access their Wordpress account. It simply is not possible. They also can't contact customer service because 1) Wordpress doesn't have a customer service support line and 2) Human customer service support is only available for paying customers. It is ridiculous to have to pay a company for the privilege of speaking to someone in order to get an account removed.
So they go through the AI help routes and go through all the steps Wordpress suggests. But since the email address no longer exists, it's a moot point. So they are directed to forums, where they post their issue, and are now being emailed with offers from random people, not Wordpress employees, to "assist", but they're really just trying to make a buck. That's not cool.
In an effort to protect privacy, this family member has inadvertently doxxed themselves further by bringing attention to this problem to more strangers on the internet by following Wordpress's reccomendations.
All we want to do is delete this account. Delete this website. We don't want to hide the site or set it to private. Privacy concerns are such that we want it deleted. And we can't get in touch with anyone to help.
Even without the email address attached to the account, this family member can prove that this site contains this family member's PII, and that the site belongs to this person because of the contents of the site.
I'm not a tech wizard, and neither is this family member. They were just following a class assignment for college ten years ago. They didn't really understand what they had done at the time, and it's not the kind of thing one is going to remember doing in the long term.
Why is it so hard to get in touch with someone to get this thing deleted?
We want a phone number or direct contact information for a Wordpress employee who can help us resolve this in a timely and effective manner.
The AI isn't helpful and neither were the forums or Account Recovery.
