This company genuinely needs to be investigated.
When you cancel, they have you sign on the spot without showing you or explaining terms first. You’re actually agreeing to pay a termination fee with no documentation and no explanation given. It’s unethical if nothing else.
I want to share my experience with Crunch Fitness so others can make an informed decision before signing up.
In December 2025, I signed up for a membership before the gym officially opened. The salesperson told me that my membership would not begin until the gym opened and I actually started using it. Based on that information, I agreed to join.
When the gym opened in May, I was surprised to see charges begin immediately, regardless of whether I had actually started using the facility. This was not what I was led to believe when I signed up.
I was also told there was no cancellation fee. Unfortunately, when I decided to cancel within the first 90 days, I learned that I would still be responsible for the annual fee and additional charges. None of this was clearly explained to me during the sales process.
My experience left me feeling misled. The promises made by the salesperson did not match the actual terms of the membership. Had the fees, billing timeline, and cancellation policy been explained honestly and transparently, I would have made a different decision.
I encourage anyone considering a Crunch Fitness membership to read every line of the contract before signing and not rely solely on what is said during the sales presentation. Ask for every promise in writing, including when billing begins, cancellation policies, annual fees, and any other charges.
I believe customers deserve transparency and honesty when making financial commitments. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend Crunch Fitness based on how my membership was sold.
My first time experience was a disaster
I have never experienced a Crunch gym before, after my experience I will not be purchasing a membership.
This Crunch location offers one day passes to active members to bring first timers. However, when I arrived, My friend who purchases a membership was denied a day pass and I was instead told to pay for a “free week.”
My solution was to get a free day pass from Crunch through their website. The staff gathered additional information and collected my license. Surprisingly, they didn’t tell me that I wouldn’t receive my license back until I explicitly asked. This alone made me uncomfortable enough to think about Crunch's business practices.
The gym equipment is serviceable, and my experience working out without the presence of an employee was my favorite part.
After returning to the front desk to collect my ID, A different gentleman with dark curly hair informed me that I wouldn’t receive my license until I paid for the “free week” pass. While this might have been meant as a joke, the delivery and lack of explanation this was optional left a horrible taste in my mouth.
After explaining that I wouldn’t be signing up at this time, the employee began questioning me about my decision he didn't inform me I could make. He even said, “You don’t have 6 cents to sign up?” while my license was still in his possession.
Needless to say, after repeatedly asking for my license back it was finally given to me. The last 5 minutes of my experience ruined the past ~2hrs spent there. I will never give Crunch an opportunity to take my money after this first (and only) experience.
