Consumers often found it extremely difficult to successfully end their service agreements, facing unhelpful management, strict policies, and ongoing unexpected charges long after cancellation requests.
Some reviewers were happy with the helpful and encouraging staff members who consistently provided excellent customer guidance and great support. Visitors genuinely appreciated individual fitness trainers and specific employees who successfully created a welcoming, friendly, and comfortable environment during their regular workout sessions.

The cancelation policy is a greedy joke. I tried to cancel my membership but wont be able to without paying the annual fee (due March 28, 2026) for the upcoming 12 months despite losing access to the gym on March 6, 2026 before I even get charged the annual fee. I came in on February 26, 2026 which is before the 30 day window. The manager AND Jake the managing partner informed me because my last payment is March 7, 2026 and within the 30 days of the annual fee, I have to pay both?? I tried to ask for the annual fee to be waived since I won't have access to the gym these next 12 months but was informed they cant do that for me. I feel ripped off. The gym, while clean, is not worth these unreasonable, greedy policies.
I don’t understand why these people can’t open a location in the south side of San Antonio extremely inconvenient to have to go to the opposite side of town to work out. Spending more money on gas should’ve just stayed at True fit
My experience with Crunch Fitness in Harker Heights has been extremely frustrating. I was told twice that my membership had been downgraded, but I later discovered that it was still at the highest tier. The app then claimed that I owed more than $1,000, while repeated withdrawal attempts contributed to my bank closing a checking account I had held for over 10 years and transferring my funds to a new account.
I spoke with the manager in person and was told there were no fees on my account. I then requested cancellation, signed the cancellation acknowledgment electronically, and was looked in the eye and told that my membership was closed with nothing owed. Despite that assurance, Crunch later attempted to withdraw $97 and then $390, forcing me to cancel my debit card and obtain a replacement. When I called again, I was told that my cancellation was only “pending.”
As of August 22, 2026, I have an open case and am still getting the runaround. Based on the conflicting information, attempted charges, and failure to complete the cancellation as promised, I cannot recommend this location. Document every conversation and keep copies of anything you sign.
I would like to acknowledge Jasmine from Caringbah and strongly recommend that she be considered for a pay rise or formal recognition for the way she performs her role. She went above and beyond to assist me with an ongoing membership issue that had been happening for months. She was professional, polite, patient and took the time to properly investigate the problem rather than simply telling me to walk through the gate like they do at Rockdale
Jasmine identified the issue on the system, contacted my home gym at Rockdale, corrected the incorrect information and made sure everything was properly resolved. As a result, my barcode finally worked and I was able to enter the gym without any issues.
Jasmine is doing exactly what she is being paid to do, and in my opinion, she is doing it 110%. She checks memberships, speaks to customers respectfully, takes responsibility and genuinely cares about doing her job properly. Staff like Jasmine should be recognised and rewarded because she sets a great example of the standard that should be expected across all centres.
I sincerely believe Jasmine deserves recognition and a pay rise for her outstanding work ethic, professionalism and commitment to her role.
LOVE getting billed for something that I thought was already paid!
I signed up because it was supposed to be a deal. It ended up just being false advertisement because I *supposedly* was just being charged a “prorated annual fee” but then got charged an extra $70 without warning! Why advertise all the “deals” and give someone a “prorated annual fee” and a lower “enrollment fee” if there are hidden fees that are not mentioned in the ad!? Meanwhile, I can’t find a single email address to be able to reach out and voice my concerns. Since when is this ok??.. I am thoroughly annoyed because CRUNCH SHOULD BE BETTER AND MORE TRANSPARENT when having people sign up.
The gym in Ithaca New York the bathrooms are disgusting the showers never work. You can not call anyone if you have a problem except the rude people at your local gym. Good luck cancelling your membership. Never would I use another crunch gym.
I have been a loyal Crunch Fitness member for quite some time and, until this interaction, I had nothing but positive things to say about the gym. Unfortunately, my recent experience with Mateo at the Brandon location was so disappointing that it has me seriously reconsidering my membership.
I called regarding an unexpected $65 annual fee on my account. After being informed that it was a yearly charge, I explained that I am returning to school and, because of the demands of my schedule, I would no longer have the time to regularly use the gym. I hoped there might be some understanding or guidance regarding my options.
Instead, Mateo's response was simply that I had signed an agreement when I joined and that was the end of the discussion. At no point did he acknowledge my situation or show any interest in helping me find a solution. While he remained calm throughout the conversation, his demeanor came across as condescending, dismissive, and completely indifferent to the concerns of a long-time member.
What disappointed me most was not the fee itself, but the complete lack of customer service. I asked several times if this was truly how Crunch wanted to treat a loyal member who fully intended to return after finishing school. Each time, I was met with the same matter-of-fact attitude that made it clear my business and loyalty meant very little.
Crunch has built a great gym with excellent equipment, a welcoming atmosphere, and a strong community. One trainer, Daniel, who is no longer there actually motivated and guided me through three life-threatening bouts with breast cancer. Even when I couldn’t go to the gym for months because of surgeries or treatments, I kept it going because of the supportive relationship I had with my trainer. That is why this experience was so shocking. One employee's lack of empathy and customer-focused service has done more damage to my perception of the company than years of positive experiences have done to build it.
I genuinely do not want to cancel my membership, and I would prefer to continue supporting Crunch. However, this interaction with Mateo was so unpleasant that I am now considering taking my business elsewhere, especially with new options opening nearby. I sincerely hope Crunch rethinks how loyal members are treated because no customer should walk away feeling as unvalued as I did after this conversation.
I joined 3 months ago in Kyle Texas. I knew going in the gym was not large at least in the amount of equipment available. But I was reassured if I came during off peak hours there was plenty of room. I tried several different starting times and days, never mattered the gym was over crowded constantly and of course a good portion of them on their phones while on the equipment. Ok not for me so I go in 10 days before billing cycle and I’m reminded ( told) there is a 30 day cancellation cycle so I had to pay for the following month. I’m going midday for an hour all month so I can just hold the front door open during the dead heat of summer 😃. Back to planet fitness! Little farther drive but a much better gym. Save your money do not join Crunch fitness in Kyle Texas.
Kasey at Crunch Gym University in Sarasota was so helpful to me. I had S problem with my sign on and he knew exactly who to contact. It was fixed the next day. He’s always so pleasant and helpful. Thank you!
If I could give zero stars I would bec this company is a thief they told me they was cancelling my membership n still charged my card anyways n then said that there was nothing they could do trash ass company an there gym stinks an smells like old feet they are crooks ln liars dnt ever go here
I canceled my membership two days after signing up .. in person at the Homestead, FL location within the cool off period. They did not tell me that I had to also ask to cancel the personal training membership. They charged $120 two weeks later for the personal trainer and did not provide a refund. I now have to dispute the transaction with my bank to get my money back. How can I have a Crunch personal trainer if I no longer am a member to get into the facility to see the personal trainer? Crazy how they operate.
Crunch Fitness ripping us off, I offer to pay for a whole year on our membership they refused to accepted my offer .
Please keep track on your bank statement transaction

i got scammed into a gym membership, they charge you the annual fee months after you sign up so you dont say anything, its just the misleading sales tactics that will make sure i cancel this when my year is over, something tell me a lawsuit is coming
Went in for my initial consultation with a trainer the trainer was not very educated. The gym is very small. Then I signed up before they opened being told you could cancel at any time. But that’s untrue. You only have three days. I’m not sure how you can cancel something. That’s not even open yet. Total scam.
Do not join Crunch Katy if you want non stop unauthorized charges to your account after canceling!!!! This gym is a mess, if you requested to be transferred over a different location, and you process cancellation with the other location, they still charge you despite your account being cancelled months ago!!!! Do not ignore the warnings! I read reviews about how difficult to cancel a membership was and ignored and now i am $80 out of my account. I opened a complaint with the Katy BB.
7/29/2026 *UPDATE
I called back the gym to make sure that there are no cards on file since yesterday I was under the impression that both my bank and credit card were wiped. Only my bank account was but the credit card is still there as it seems to be impossible on their end to remove all cards. I am in contact with my credit card to ensure that a charge will never appear from this gym again. I asked the employee if they could give me a history of when my card was tried and revoked payment so I can gather evidence to present to my credit card company but the gym said that it's $15 and that they won't go digging through invoices and that it is going to be my problem to solve.

I wanted to wait a few days until I wrote a review to see if my situation could be resolved in an amicable manner; however, it was not.
Upon signing up for this gym, I was excited for the newly renovated area. That is the reason I signed up. I knew I would have to be at the gym for three months before I would be able to cancel my membership, and that the annual fee of $60 would be collected during these three months. Fine, I knew that beforehand, so no surprise there. I have a credit card on file and had no problems with it.
Two weeks ago, a worker asked me for my bank information as a fallback if my card failed to process a payment. My membership renewed without an issue using credit card however. Suddenly, a week or two ago, I got a notification that my card was charged $74.99. This was surprising because I had already been charged my membership fee for the month. So, I thought, this must be the annual fee—but what raised it by $15?
I called, and the worker said they tried charging my card and then my bank, but both failed. I asked, “But how? My card is unlocked. I chose this card SPECIFICALLY because I use it for recurring memberships.” He said it was odd. I said, “Then how come it magically charged today, four days late, if I haven’t ever changed the status of my card?” And, lo and behold, they charged a $15 late fee because of this when I clearly had funds available.
I asked to speak to the manager, and I spoke with him. Then, suddenly, the line got cut while we were coming to a resolution. I thought it was my signal, so I called back. No answer. I called more times, and there was still no answer, so I decided to go in person later that day.
When I came in, I spoke to a worker, and they told me the manager was on break and would be back around 5 or so. The worker himself told me that the person who inputted my bank information did not put it in as a backup form of payment, so it was inactive. This was not my fault at all.
The worker put in a refund request to corporate, and I was told to wait for the manager. Well, I did my workout, and then around 5:20, I was waiting. The manager never showed up.
I told the worker I wanted to get out of this gym and never see it again. I would pay the next month’s fee so I could close out my account. I saw that the iPad had my card on file, and, lo and behold, it processed right in front of the workers’ eyes!
A week or so later, today, I called and asked about the status of my refund request and to speak to the manager. The worker told me they declined my refund request and would not give me the $15 back for something that wasn’t my fault. He spoke on behalf of the manager. I asked to speak to the manager, and suddenly, they went on break again.
Finally, to truly close the chapter on this gym, I asked the employee to screenshot the log where they declined my refund request and the notes that were attached to the refund request explaining my situation so I have evidence to give to my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau about how a problem that wasn’t mine still made me pay for their mistake.
I will also be asking my credit card company for a history of how many times I have locked my card as further evidence. I will attach the image to this message.
