What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently encountered frustrating hidden fees and unexpected extra charges shortly after attempting to cancel their monthly memberships or personal training plans. Consumers often found it extremely difficult to successfully end their service agreements, facing unhelpful management, strict policies, and ongoing unexpected charges long after cancellation requests.
Some reviewers were happy with the helpful and encouraging staff members who consistently provided excellent customer guidance and great support. Visitors genuinely appreciated individual fitness trainers and specific employees who successfully created a welcoming, friendly, and comfortable environment during their regular workout sessions.

This company genuinely needs to be investigated.
When you cancel, they have you sign on the spot without showing you or explaining terms first. You’re actually agreeing to pay a termination fee with no documentation and no explanation given. It’s unethical if nothing else.
Very clean, VERY PUSHY and aggressive to earn their trainer’s commissions. Only friendly if you are doing what they want. They walk around stalking their next victim during workouts. Management needs work on communication skills and when you want to cancel you have to go to the location to agree to pay whatever and not once was I asked “why” or “is there anything we can do to get you to stay” - “if you don’t pay you will be going to collections “
Byeeeee
I want to share my experience with Crunch Fitness so others can make an informed decision before signing up.
In December 2025, I signed up for a membership before the gym officially opened. The salesperson told me that my membership would not begin until the gym opened and I actually started using it. Based on that information, I agreed to join.
When the gym opened in May, I was surprised to see charges begin immediately, regardless of whether I had actually started using the facility. This was not what I was led to believe when I signed up.
I was also told there was no cancellation fee. Unfortunately, when I decided to cancel within the first 90 days, I learned that I would still be responsible for the annual fee and additional charges. None of this was clearly explained to me during the sales process.
My experience left me feeling misled. The promises made by the salesperson did not match the actual terms of the membership. Had the fees, billing timeline, and cancellation policy been explained honestly and transparently, I would have made a different decision.
I encourage anyone considering a Crunch Fitness membership to read every line of the contract before signing and not rely solely on what is said during the sales presentation. Ask for every promise in writing, including when billing begins, cancellation policies, annual fees, and any other charges.
I believe customers deserve transparency and honesty when making financial commitments. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend Crunch Fitness based on how my membership was sold.
I had an amazing experience thanks to the general manager at Crunch Fitness in Palm Harbor, Christian. From th, he was incredibly outgoing, welcoming, and genuinely cared about helping me. He handled my situation professionally, listened to everything I had to say, and worked with me until we got to the root of the problem. , and his positive attitude made the whole experience so much better.
It’s rare to come across someone who is not only great at their job but also such a kind and respectful person. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was resolved, and I left feeling valued as a member. Crunch Fitness is lucky to have a general manager like him. Thank you for the outstanding customer service!
Do your research before you go! Read comments and reviews. My college age daughter signed up at Crunch for a year membership. A day later she saw a package that best suited her for her summer home from college. She asked if she could change to the other membership. They agreed and said they canceled the membership AND they said they would, as a courtesy, refund her ~$100 sign up fee. She was never refunded, they still charge her for the monthly fee. She went up there in person to discuss and the manager CALLED THE POLICE on them. The police were on my families side and the manager said, ‘I didn’t call you here to be on their side.’ Or something to that effect. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! They aren’t trying to give you a plan that fits you, they just want you to sign up and NO refunds.
If I could give this place a zero I would. I wish I had read the reviews before I signed up with them.
I was incorrectly charged $110 by Crunch Fitness in Athens, Georgia, in March. After reporting the issue to my trainer, he acknowledged it as a mistake and advised me to dispute it with my credit card company. I did so, but Crunch Fitness never responded with the required information so the charge was not reversed.
After this, I was charged an additional $110 two more times, bringing the total incorrect charges to $330. Despite repeated attempts over the past three months, everyone at the gym has acknowledged that a refund is due, but no action has been taken.
Withholding a refund for money you acknowledge was incorrectly charged if blatant theft in my opinion.
I have canceled about a month ago and was charged after they said they were not going to charge me after the cancel. I just found out they did not cancel my membership; I was also over charged many times that they don't want to take credit for. they keep saying that I did not pay my bill when I did every time it was due. and when i did they charged me again in same month for a payment. they even charged a card that I told them to take off many times and did not do it. I have made many calls to them and even went in to confront them and nothing still has not been done with them. they like to scam people
My first time experience was a disaster
I have never experienced a Crunch gym before, after my experience I will not be purchasing a membership.
This Crunch location offers one day passes to active members to bring first timers. However, when I arrived, My friend who purchases a membership was denied a day pass and I was instead told to pay for a “free week.”
My solution was to get a free day pass from Crunch through their website. The staff gathered additional information and collected my license. Surprisingly, they didn’t tell me that I wouldn’t receive my license back until I explicitly asked. This alone made me uncomfortable enough to think about Crunch's business practices.
The gym equipment is serviceable, and my experience working out without the presence of an employee was my favorite part.
After returning to the front desk to collect my ID, A different gentleman with dark curly hair informed me that I wouldn’t receive my license until I paid for the “free week” pass. While this might have been meant as a joke, the delivery and lack of explanation this was optional left a horrible taste in my mouth.
After explaining that I wouldn’t be signing up at this time, the employee began questioning me about my decision he didn't inform me I could make. He even said, “You don’t have 6 cents to sign up?” while my license was still in his possession.
Needless to say, after repeatedly asking for my license back it was finally given to me. The last 5 minutes of my experience ruined the past ~2hrs spent there. I will never give Crunch an opportunity to take my money after this first (and only) experience.
Customer service was very disappointing. I visited the location in person to cancel my membership and was told I would still be required to pay for one additional month. To make matters worse, my annual membership fee had been charged that same day, and they refused to refund or prorate it, even though I would no longer be using the membership.
As a result, I am being charged both an additional month's membership and an annual fee for time I won't be a member. This is not the level of customer service I would expect from a national company. I cannot recommend a business that treats customers this way when they are simply trying to cancel their membership.
NEVER GO TO THIS GYM UNLESS U WANT TO BE LIED TO AND SCAMMED OUT OF MONEY! My brother went in person to sign up for a membership and he talked to a manager for 40 minutes about it. He wanted to sign up for the $10 membership but the manager said no you need to do the $30 membership and after 3 months you can downgrade for free and it is cheaper in the end, so he signed up for that one. My brother clearly asked if I want to downgrade will there be a fee and he said “nah, after 2 months”. He called May 19th, talked to a male employee to pause and downgrade his membership. But in June, he got charged again and when I called the girl employee said nothing has been documented for that and I can pause/downgrade the membership for you. I told her to pause the membership for now because she told me there was a $20 fee to downgrade. She also told me she can ask for a refund for this month because my brother called. I called again later and talked to a male manager. He said nope our employees are taught to say the same thing and we don’t have record so nothing we can do. This manager even told me, a manager signed up your brother for the membership. But clearly the workers and even manager aren’t taught the same things when each one tells us something different. The male manager asked me do you have documentation of this conversation. Why would I AS A CUSTOMER have documentation of our call when we clearly trusted ur employee would do his work. It’s not that hard but clearly the worker thinks it is. Then this manager says I can’t touch this account since ur not the account holder but why did the girl employee say she can and never once told me I need my brothers written consent or verbal. And the manager also said there is still no note of downgrade. Clearly again the employees aren’t doing their job. I talked to the general manager and he keeps saying the same thing I can’t do anything because there is no documentation. Why are we paying for your employees to mess up. I have a screenshot of my brother phone log where he called you guys may 19. Your male employee messed up and never documented it and we have to pay for it while they are getting paid to slack off clearly. Also, both the male employee he called and the manager he talked to in person never once mentioned downgrading fee while the girl employee I called today said we are obligated to tell you guys about a fee. Another mistake clearly by the employee and manger but we have to pay for it because there is no documentation. I asked the general manager to look at the cameras for the exact time my brother called to figure out the employee. He said we can’t do that, then what’s the point of cameras and who can look at it then? And he said he can give a refund right away if their is proof. So u guys can give refund but just aren’t willing to. You guys are greedy money grabbers. Each time the manager and general manager say they were trained a specific way. 3 times the employees and even one of their own managers clearly are wrong and not trained properly. But the most you guys can do is put his membership on a temporary pause. You guys aren’t willing to refund this month or the downgrade fee which ur manager lied about. I don’t know if your manager get a bonus for signing people on but clearly one was money greedy tricking and lying to people about the membership. But you guys aren’t willing to fix anything within ur employee group. And this isn’t the first post I’m seeing of the same issue so clearly there is something wrong within ur employees slacking off at their job. Why do we have to pay for the multiple mistakes ur employees make. This is truly one of the worst gyms ever. Other gyms are willing to refund or stick to their words since I mean u guys trained ur own employees personally
I'm a member.. brought my wife in for one day free pass..we have a house in fla and ohio..she was refused a one day pass.. by the bopsy twins.. because not a permanent resident..we're here hafe the year.. sometimes exceptions make a difference.. lesson learned I hope crunch fitness.. the gestapo doesn't need to run the front desk ridiculous..
This place is a joke they cornered you into memberships and when trying to deactivate your membership and cancel the corner you again for more money they're ignorant they have no customer service skills and they need to be shut down.
I went in to get some personal training. They told me I had to commit to three months of sessions and the membership. My trainer was great and at the 3 month mark, I tried to cancel. A month later they charged me for the membership again and told me I didn’t cancel “the right way”. I’m still trying to cancel and working with the credit card company to stop the charges.
The office staff is very rude to customers—specifically at the Fort Myers location, where they use lies to sign people up. They tell you they are going to open an account but need to link your debit card, and then, when you go to make a decision, they tell you that you are already signed up. The manager of the Fort Myers store is very rude to customers; he has no idea how to serve a customer or show the respect they deserve.
The worse experience to cancel the membership. I registered my son by phone and it was the easiest as long as I provided the payment information. And I told them that will be only for 6 months bc my son was moving to another state. They said that it will be canceled. I kept being charged after 6 months. I called them many times . They put you on hold for 1 hour, they said you need to come in person to cancel it or make a notarized letter and send it by mail, not even email. The worse billing experience! They are stealers
Watch out for their billing practices. In my experience, charges continued after I repeatedly requested cancellation. Although the billing was eventually stopped, I was unable to obtain a refund for the charges incurred after my cancellation request.
This was not a subscription service. It was a limited three-month promotional offer. After the promotional period ended, we contacted the company on multiple occasions and spoke with several staff members to request that all future charges be stopped and removed.
Despite repeated assurances that the matter would be addressed, by multiple staff, the company continued to process charges and failed to follow through on its commitments. It was only after escalating the issue to a manager that the recurring payments were finally stopped.
Unfortunately, while the manager agreed to discontinue the charges, the company has refused to refund the unauthorized amounts that were charged after we had clearly requested the service be terminated. We believe these charges were improperly collected, and we are extremely disappointed by the company's lack of accountability and failure to honor repeated cancellation requests.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company and would caution others to carefully review any promotional offers and monitor their billing closely.
These people are crooks, I was a member and cancelled my membership when they closed they closed the gym in Millard. Two months later I received an e mail saying welcome to crunch. They must have decided I didnt really want to cancel so they started my membership up again,
They allow sexual assault in their gym. A woman was touched on her back and kissed on the head when she was sitting with her head down. They didn’t even ban the man that did it. They try to sweep it under the rug while the woman feels unsafe to be at work or in the gym. They can’t even uphold their own ZERO TOLERANCE policy.
Weak mean run this place.
Boycott crunch quail springs.
If you have a wife, girlfriend, daughter….do not let them go here. They allow these creeps to keep coming in and using this facility.
JUST TO BE CLEAR…WHAT I STATED IS A FELONY PUNISHABLE TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON.
Oh and they have a DAY CARE FOR KIDS
