My 1st attempt cancel member ship in jan2026 per certified letter as instructed by fitness member, so I did.
Today is 6/6/2026 and I have been charged $237.05 after my cancelation! I went there as instructed by someone from HQ after I contacted BBB, so I did.
I have not been refunded nor helped, but AGAIN charge for CANCELING my membership 28$ ... that's ridiculous!
Nor I was helped to be provided with direct phone number to DM only center manager, and some webpage number nobody responds and not even able leave message!
Absurde, lie based customer service, overcharged unlawfully and just not even offered some kind compensation at all.
Absolute scam, not willing help and TREATING me with collection agency if I call my bank let them dispute all these charges from March2026 till may2026. What a joke!
One of the most disturbing, disgusting customer service practice and services. What a joke company
I would rate Crunch higher if it wasn't for their displaying Bravo on the TVs. Bravo is a nasty station. Nudity shouldn't be shown in public. I appreciate the number of machines and the ability to get on them easily, usually.
I'm writing this one star review because I would like to echo my dissatisfaction that Crunch Fitness allows its franchisees to make up their own policy, which leads to a frustrating and inconsistent brand experience.
On Wednesday, 6/3, I went to Crunch Fitness in Clifton, NJ because someone recommended their spin class. I went far out of my way to get to this gym and when I arrived, I was 2 minutes late to the class. The front desk told me where the class was, but the manager (someone named Gibbs) said 'hold up', and flat out told me I could not take the class because I was late and they have no grace period.
I've taken hundreds of spin classes before and am normally on time. Sometimes I'm a few minutes late because life happens. I've never had a problem, but at this location they had a problem with me being 2 minutes late. Not 10 minutes - 2 minutes. At 2 minutes the warm up is just starting, people may still be adjusting their bikes. Per their app, the class was nowhere near capacity.
When I asked to see the policy, they said they don't post it and it is not available, which means they made it up. If you are going to enforce a policy like this, at least have the decency to post it online. A little consideration and communication goes a long way in this world and this manager clearly has no idea how to treat members.
This is a terrible company who will rob you blind and smile in your face. Be warned when you are asked "are you committed to this personal fitness plan," this does not mean psychologically it means financially, they have charged me weekly $65 and I cannot cancel this . Two weeks into this my husband lost his job and i was scheduled for a surgery I needed and was unable to work out for 3 months. I tried to cancel, this training , they agreed and continued to withdraw from my account and when i call they just do nothing. They are crooks and my advice is to not agree to use their trainers
An employee physically threatened my wife and that employee still works here. So don't be surprised if this happens to you or your family as well. Any corporation that doesn't immediately terminate an employee who has physically threatened a customer is a place and a corporation I refuse to support. This employees behavior is not the first insistent of their employees harassing, intimidating, threatening or putting their customers lives in danger. Unacceptable, especially since their employees also watch children.
Very disappointed with how this company handled my son's internship. The internship was approved twice, with all required paperwork signed and submitted to his college advisor on both occasions. The day before he was to start, we were told the original manager had been fired and the internship was canceled. After being assured by another manager that it could proceed and having the paperwork signed again, we were informed the next day that HR would not allow an unpaid internship. This lack of communication and professionalism wasted valuable time and negatively impacted his academic plans.
Cruch advertised $9.99 per month. After one year, I have been charged $400!
The $9.99/month that they advertise is completely false. After 1 year, I have have been charged $375.11. Basically, triple the amount they advertise. And to cancel, they refused to cancel until I agreed that they could charge $105.07 more - so I reluctantly agreed. But I took a photo of their screen that I was forced to sign to escape their membership. If I did not agree, their employee refused to cancel. Of course their are no printed receipts; probably to avoid creating evidence against themselves. The screen said $105.07 but they charged $120.07 - even the last payment is an overcharge! So I suspect they will have charged me over $400 for one year.
I had to read over their terrible contract and found: processing fees, annual fees, multiple late fees, "decline" fees, and 18% interest. Now I am left to decide if I want to go through an ordeal to dispute/reversing their overcharging. Takes 5 minutes to sign up but an ordeal to get out.
I am no lawyer, I just want to go to gym for a fair and reasonable price that we both agree upon. Not Crunch - DO NOT TRUST THEM with a credit card!!!!!!
You can find better gyms for less than $400 per year.
This location is not even deserving for a single star. I need to put so i can write review. I have been wanting to cancel. I havent been there long time since they closed the one i. Dexie and Peter Robertson. The app is useless! You need to go in person to cancel! They will still bill you for your YEARLY PLUS YOUR MONTHLY when you cancel. That lady in the front let me wait almost an hour when i said why the yearly fee too? I can understand if the monthly fee only. The manager PAWAN let me wait and just passed by me 3x! Then heexplained to me like he only can read billing statement pretending he will help! H3 said he understa d my frustration , I SAID STOP SAYING THAT , ITSFROM THE TIP OF YOU TONGUE. YOU ARE TRAINED TO SAY THAT. STOP SAYING SORRY, YOU ARE NEVER SORRY.
I don’t recommend the crunch carrolwood gym at all , ALI TAYLOR had horrible customer service , helped me sign up i ended up not being able to afford the membership with all the taxes and she kept questioning me and pressuring me to get it when i simply couldn’t , she said she had canceled it and found out she never did and i kept getting charged.
Yes, I am another sucker of their TERRIBLY DECEITFUL cancellation policy.
First it’s Cancel at ANY time, then it’s cancel ONLY in writing or In-person but AFTER 3 months. Then at cancellation they ADD 1 more month. SQUEEZING EVERY DOLLAR and taking FULL ADVANTAGE of YOU. Guess we will wait for class action law suits!!
My name is James Paterno and I've been a member at this gym for about two years before Crunch took over from 24 Hours fitness.... I written some bad reviews in the past about Crunch.... but I have to say that when the tricep press machine cable broke.... they had it fixed within about a week which is a good sign good and I hope that Crunch keeps improving because they sure sucked in comparison to 24 hour fitness when they started out.... I am thankful that Crunch has gotten significantly better since taking over
I would like to give a shoutout to Paul at the Monroe Crunch. He is always at the desk and has always been very helpful to our needs. He has made our experience a real pleasure.
My local Tinton Falls location won’t let me bring my child that’s home for the summer from college as a guest to work out with me even though it’s in my membership that I’m allowed to bring one guest at any time
It’s hard to cancel even you’ve just sign up for 1 minute you have to pay 60 plus membership plan.
Every change you’ll be charged for 20 dollars
Machines are not enough. Each kind of machine is only one. So someday you come may be not have a chance to work out on the machine you want.
I am not happy but I am stuck because if I want to cancel I have to pay for 70 dollars. It’s suck! So think before you sign up. Hope they can change a little bit make people feel comfy to join
About a year ago I moved to GA and signed up for a crunch fitness membership online, however it was my bad and I accidentally signed up for a location that was two hours from me. So I went to my local location and told them my issues and they said only thing they could do was have me fill out an application in hopes that I could transfer to their location as my “home gym” they told me it’s not 100% guaranteed but I went through that process anyways and assumed it went through because I had a barcode I was scanning and no one said anything. Well now that I’m moving back to my home state and I want to cancel it’s the biggest issue ever. I had no idea that online or over the phone cancellation was not a thing. Because when I called my home location and they told me my account was not in their system, I called the location two hours for me only to find out that my account was still with that location and unfortunately, in order to cancel I had to either drive to them two hours away or I had to mail in my information to an address to cancel. In the meantime, though I was going to be charged for that month because it was less than 30 days notice and then I found out that while I’m waiting for my documents to arrive by mail that I’ll be charge my annual fee as well and there’s nothing they can do. Absolutely ridiculous. I was not aware that it was gonna be this difficult.
I went there to check it out and whoever designed the layout knows nothing of keeping bodyparts together- This was in Melbourne Fl - music is loud and A/C was cold -people leave weights on machines and bathrooms were dirty
Only 2 smith machines and I was unimpressed. Only thing they cared about is did you want to sign up. Lifetime Value of a Client is not taught here.
Lets start with parking, good luck. Getting into classes, you better set your timer and be quick to the draw to get enrolled. Now with those 2 things, I still planned on keeping my membership. My employer offers me a free service called Wellhub and Crunch became a member of this service. Great, I can cancel my membership and use Wellhub, right, save my $32 month. So I am thinking great, I should be able to cancel my membership with no issues,"no contract", well I was wrong. Even though I gave well more than a 30 day notice, they still demanded I pay the $70 maintenance fee, wow, not even a member for 30 days, why can you just not transfer my membership? I guess they need that $70 more than they need happy members.
CRUNCH FITNESS CHARGING FEES THAT I DIDNT DO!
So we had a Crunch fitness acct that I started in November that I wasn't using so I went and canceled it on Saturday. They Charged me a 10.00 late charge. I was told that my original due date is on the 19th of every month but since I signed up with a debit card they will start the process to take out on the 19th but it's not completed til the 24th of every month so it looks like my payment is late but it's not. Every 24th of the month my payment comes out so no sir it's not late. If you started the process on my due date then thats not considered late either. That damn boy said they don't give refunds. I said oh somebody is giving me a refund. I want the corporate office number right now. He took the name and number down and is supposedly going to give it to some woman to call us back. They playing with my money then won't refund they bullshit as reply. Oh somebody gon give me my money. If yall got Crunch fitness please check yalls banking accts and stuff. They bank cant refund me cause it's a legit payment they told me to continue the dispute with Crunch fitness which I guarantee I plan on doing.
This is a scam of a company. They will constantly charge you random amounts and even if you change cards they will find a way to keep charging you. They make the cancellation process extremely difficult. Be warned that if you try to cancel, not only can you not do so in the app, but you have to go the gym you were initially signed up at. The one that keeps billing me was formerly a 24hr fitness and when CRUNCH took over, I started getting charged $30 a month without and warning or notices. I’ve been getting charged since August of 2025 and I’m currently writing this in May of 2026. I’ve still yet been able to cancel the membership and just today a got a random $64 charge. 1/5 is far too generous for these scum bags.
I joined the Plantation Florida gym two days ago. I was told to sign on a keypad 7 times without having the benefit of knowing what I signed, which is in the agreement NOTICE TO BUYER- DO NOT SIGN THIS CONTRACT BEFORE READING IT. The agreement was emailed to me and I then reviewed it. The rep at the gym never disclosed the annual fee whatsoever, I only realized it AFTER printing and reading the contract. Other inconsistencies exist, and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I am a handicapped senior citizen.
