My Family and I have been Crunch members for over three years. The biggest problem we have is lack of maintenance of the equipment. It takes a long time to repair and often the equipment not fixed properly. In spite of our request and complaints, they are ignored.
Stay away from Crunch Fitness
Unprofessional personnel who fail at simple tasks, especially if you are a VENDOR; stay away from their VENDOR program. It's as crapy and not worth a penny
Their marketing scheme is extremely deceitful when they are trying to highlight their low monthly fee's but when you read the fine print the fee's actually wind up being more expensive than any other gym that I have been to. When you want to cancel your membership they screw you then too. I was a member for only 3 months and wound up paying around $250.00 and my first month was supposedly only a penny.
I had a very disappointing experience with this Crunch location. My concern wasn’t just about the membership charges. It was about how I was treated when I called seeking an explanation.
I was trying to understand why I was being charged for months I hadn’t used the gym and why I was being told my membership couldn’t be canceled because my account was no longer active. Instead of taking the time to explain the policy professionally, the manager was condescending, dismissive, and repeatedly talked over me.
Throughout the conversation, he repeatedly said, “You have to pay for your membership if you want it, ma’am.” The problem is, I never said I didn’t want to pay for my current month’s membership. My concern was being charged for a month that I didn’t use and trying to understand why I was expected to continue paying when I was requesting to cancel. Rather than listening to what I was actually asking, he kept repeating the same statement instead of addressing my concern.
When I told him I didn’t understand the policy, instead of explaining it professionally, his response was, “So you don’t understand that you pay for a gym membership?” That came across as insulting rather than helpful. At no point did I say I didn’t understand how memberships work. I was asking for clarification about the cancellation policy and why charges would continue after I requested to cancel. Instead of helping me understand, he chose to be condescending.
He also assumed I had been rude to the previous representative. I explained that I had ended the earlier call because I was actively working and had to return to my own customer, not because I was disrespectful. Instead of listening, he continued to make assumptions and dismissed what I was saying.
What was even more frustrating was that I repeatedly asked to speak with someone above him, and he refused to let me. Every time I requested a supervisor or someone higher up, he insisted that I could only speak with him. As a customer, I should have the ability to escalate my concerns when I feel they are not being handled appropriately.
Customer service should be about helping people understand policies, not making them feel talked down to. Even if the answer is something a customer doesn’t want to hear, there is a respectful way to communicate it. Instead, I was met with interruptions, assumptions, condescension, and a refusal to allow me to speak with anyone else. That is not how customers should be treated. Crunch on Ireland drive, Fayetteville, NC.
I recently applied at this location after noticing they had zero job listings on their website. I went through a phone interview followed by two face-to-face interviews. Despite explicitly requiring professional references, management never bothered to contact them, which points to a disorganized and inconsistent onboarding process.More importantly, the workplace culture here is highly unprofessional. The Fitness Manager, Adam, has been actively gossiping and running his mouth to current employees about me. Creating tension and spreading rumors about an applicant he has never worked with—and does not know—is incredibly toxic. This behavior aligns directly with the poor management reviews he earned during his time at 24 Hour Fitness. If you are a professional looking for a structured environment with strong leadership, look elsewhere. This location fosters unnecessary drama and lacks basic operational standards.
I am a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income, which I explained to person that responded to my customer service message (Gregory Ludwig).
The training company is quick to take money but you are unable to reschedule sessions on the system that were cancelled by the trainer.
Requested for the contract to be cancelled but they are still taking money from my account.
What a rip off! Should have never joined this gym. Overcrowded every time I ever went except for on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.. I got multiple texts from an employee wanted to know about what I wanted to do as far as my fitness. I asked them to stop and they sent me a snarky text back. Went to cancel my membership and they told me now I would be charged an annual fee. So the month of membership cost me $80 and change. Would not recommend this Corporation.
I am very disappointed with my experience at Crunch Fitness Coral Springs.
When I signed up for personal training, I was told that after completing six sessions, I could cancel at any time. I completed more than six sessions, but then suffered a triceps tendon injury while working out. The staff advised me to freeze my personal training for one month so I could recover.
When my injury did not improve, I returned to cancel my personal training. The manager, Danny, told me I could not cancel while my personal training was frozen and that I had to wait until the freeze ended. As a result, I will be charged $170 of training even though I cannot use the sessions.
This policy feels unfair and misleading. I followed the gym's recommendation, only to discover that freezing my account prevented me from canceling. During our conversation, Danny demanded that I "respect" him in an aggressive tone, even though I remained calm and respectful throughout the entire interaction. I expected understanding and professionalism, especially given that I was dealing with an injury, but he showed no concern for my situation and seemed completely indifferent when I told him I was considering changing gyms because of this. I feel like I am being forced to pay for services I cannot use.
Because of this experience, I have decided to cancel my membership and join another gym. I cannot recommend Crunch Fitness Coral Springs.
I took the tour first so I could learn how to enjoy my top tier membership what were the perks and so on. Today I bring a guest and the guest didn't have access to what I did. I checked in me and my guess I put my stuff in the locker and went to the massage chairs and I was rudely interrupted by this obnoxious white lady with glasses heavy set, so I give her the same energy that she is giving to me mind you during the tour everything is supposed to be discussed and I was told absolutely nothing bad experience today. So if you bring a guest they do not have access to what you do and a few other thing's I'll mention after my next visit to Crunch fitness.
Crunch Fitness in Fayetteville Arkansas is a grift. They have a lot of equipment but the machines are often broken and they wait months to fix them. The entire place is disgustingly dirty. There are dust and hair ball blowing around the floor of the whole place. You can get on the ground in the stretching are to do planks etc. without breathing them. I've asked the staff to vacuum the place numerous times. They always say they will and they never do. The same hair balls are in the stretching area for months. They absolutely go months without vacuuming. The men's sauna is gross. The college guys go in there in street clothes and shoes and the floor is covered in mud with nasty stuff growing in the corners because it hasn't been cleaned in months.
Financially the place is a grift. Once they get your credit card number they will keep billing you for all kinds of charges that you never agreed to. They won't let you quit and will want you to pay an additional 2 months before you quit. It is not immediate. If you try to call you get an AI that can't help you. If you tell it it repeatedly you need to talk to a really person it will tell you the people at the front desk are not available and they are never available. I strongly advise against joining this gym.
I have been at Crunch fitness since it was World Gym
I pay the premium price in order to be able to tan
The Crunch on Lauzon Rd recently removed one of their tanning beds to add a red light treatment pod
Everytime I go for a workout and try to tan the one bed is always busy
If you have 3000 members and a third of them are premium members you have 1000 trying to use one tanning bed
The weights are all broken and chipped and there are always numerous treadmills out if order
The only reason I stay is the staff is amazing
I like the gym in Wellington
I don’t like the billing experience I had and currently have.
Watch your wallet carefully
I set up a membership using auto bank withdrawals
When I canceled, those Auto withdrawals from Checking continued. Staff at the gym didn’t seem to have an answer on how to stop Crunch from taking money out of my account
I called the Gym, spoke with three different managers over the course of weeks, all of which pledged to get back with me after speaking with corporate.
None have, and I suspect none will.
Now my local Crunch gym is intentionally not taking my calls
Tried to contact corporate directly. There is no way to contact them directly. The number they post as a contact for corporate goes directly to a record recording that states nobody’s taking these calls. So the withdrawals continue
Again, watch your wallet! If I didn’t notice these Auto drafts coming out of checking they would’ve continued indefinitely
Crunch fitness palm harbor needs to train its employees better
I joined Crunch Palm Harbor when the club first opened. At that time, the staff went above and beyond to welcome prospective members. Everyone who walked through the doors was treated with warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine courtesy.
Until recently, I had no complaints because I simply came in, worked out, and left without needing assistance.
Unfortunately, my experience changed completely when I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition and needed to freeze my membership. The young woman at the front desk explained that memberships can normally be frozen for three months per year. After I shared my diagnosis and explained that I would require a longer freeze, she confirmed with a colleague standing beside her and informed me that six months would be possible if I submitted a letter from my physician to the email address she provided.
To be clear, I have absolutely no issue with Crunch's policies. Businesses need policies, and I respect that.
My issue is with the complete absence of empathy and customer service.
When a member discloses that they have been diagnosed with a serious illness, the expected human response is something as simple as, "I'm so sorry to hear that. I wish you the very best. Let me see how I can help." Instead, neither the employee assisting me nor the male colleague standing beside her offered even the slightest acknowledgment of what I had shared. The interaction was cold, mechanical, and devoid of even basic compassion.
I promptly submitted the required documentation to the email address I was given. After waiting a week without receiving any acknowledgment or update, I called the club. Sadly, the interaction was no better.
The employee who answered informed me that my request had been forwarded to corporate headquarters and that the club had no control over the process. That may well be true, but excellent customer service is not defined by what you can control--it is defined by how you make your members feel.
A response such as, "Although corporate handles these requests, let me see if there's anything I can do on my end. I'll speak with my manager and call you back with an update," would have taken very little effort. Instead, I was left feeling like my situation was simply someone else's problem.
What is especially disappointing is that this experience has exposed a stark contrast between the exceptional service prospective members receive and the indifference shown once they have joined. It raises an uncomfortable question: Is Crunch investing all of its training in acquiring members while neglecting the equally important task of retaining them?
Customer service is not simply processing transactions. It is about empathy, communication, and making people feel valued--especially when they are facing difficult circumstances. Based on my recent experiences, those qualities appear to be missing.
Management should view this as more than an isolated complaint. It reflects a culture in which employees seem insufficiently trained in interpersonal communication, empathy, and customer care. Policies are important, but they should never replace compassion.
I sincerely hope this review reaches someone in management who recognizes that retaining loyal members requires more than state-of-the-art equipment and attractive membership offers. It requires employees who understand that a few words of kindness and a willingness to take ownership of a member's concern can make all the difference.
I have been a loyal member since the club opened. I never expected special treatment because of my diagnosis. I simply expected to be treated with the same warmth and enthusiasm when they first wanted me as a client.
The lack of responsibility an cleanliness is showing more an more everyday. Lack of cleaning the dry sauna not enforcing ppl to wipe machines off. I took pictures to show you all because that is how fungus grows an smells happen. Dry saunas should be cleaned once a week and yall barely do that, also nobody takes there shoes off when they go in so it has even more germs all in there. The tvs do more work then your employees do when trlling ppl to wipe machines. Lazy managers who dont step an mange anything, they avoid confrontation. The groups that have their own trainers an take up space instead of using crunchs trainers. What is the point to follow rules if your own staff doesn't follow them or clean up after members. I should just do what I want an tell yall to F off because you dont do anything when I bring uo situations.
I signed up for my local Crunch Fitness before it opened. Shortly afterward, I got an injury that prevented me from using the gym. I decided to keep paying because I expected to recover, but unfortunately that hasn’t happened.
I never checked into the gym or used my membership a single time.
When I contacted the local club, the manager explained that he did not have the authority to approve a membership refund, which I understood. During that conversation, he also discovered that I had somehow been charged the annual maintenance fee twice (approximately $120 total). Those duplicate charges were refunded.
However, the manager told me my request for a refund of the remaining membership charges would be forwarded to corporate for review. Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails to both the local club and Crunch Member Services and have not received a response regarding that request.
I’m not disputing that I signed up for the membership. I’m simply asking Crunch to review my situation because I never had the opportunity to use the facility due to my injury and have made every effort to resolve this professionally.
At this point, my biggest frustration isn’t even the refund itself. it’s the lack of communication after being told corporate would review my request.
I would give zero stars if I could. It’s a nice facility, but their administrative practices are terrible. If you need to cancel, they will continue to charge you over and over and over and over. And Jenna at the front desk was the most rude employee I have ever seen anywhere. I would highly recommend that you stay far far away. Planet fitness has got to be better.
