We’re sorry to hear you ran into issues while using the site. If you don’t mind, could you share a little more detail about what happened before you received the error message? For example, what feature or page you were using and whether you were able to reproduce the issue. Here: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/enterFeedback.action Any additional information would be helpful for our team to investigate further.

It’s just a shiny logo, nothing else.

I used CarGurus uk to buy a van believing they policed the quality of service from the dealers under their banner. JP commercial vehicles in Doncaster South Yorkshire UK, is under their banner. They have £300 of mine that has to be returned - and they haven’t they won’t, they’ve asked for bank details twice - not paid. I emailed CarGurus for help - nothing. Toothless with customer issues

Nissan Frontier from HBi…

I purchased my Nissan Frontier from HBi Auto in North Carolina. The truck was delivered to my door in IL. My truck was even better than what I viewed during the video inspection. John was always in communication with me. This was a great buy. My experience with HBi Auto was great.

Thank you for the review and 5 star rating!

Dealers be careful siging a contact with them!

Other dealers just a heads up be very careful with signing a contract with Cargurus. Their contracts have zero tolerance for cancellations and it might cause you issues down the road. Long story short I’m shutting down my used car lot. Unfortunately, the used car market is very bad in Southern Ontario right now. I had around 8 vendors for a variety of services. Each of them had a contract with me. All the vendors, excluding Cargurus were willing to cancel the contract early either with no penalty or some sort of paid penalty (ex.1 month of service cost or a portion of the remaining contact). I initially reached out to my Cargurus account rep and explained the situation. I let him know that the dealership is basically bankrupt and I want to come to some sort of settlement to get out of the remainder of our contract. I told him straight up we have enough liquid funds to cover around half the remaining contract as a “early cancellation fee”. He said he would look into it and get back before end of day but went ghost for a week not answering any calls or texts. Eventually, I got a hold of him and he said upper management said there’s nothing they are willing to do because we are in a contract. He recommended I reach out to the Cargurus billing department. I reach out to the billing department and they echoed the same thing. Their own words were that they are seeing tons of dealers going out of business and they would rather have us default and take us to collections vs making any sort of deal for a contract buyout or early cancellation. I was shocked that out of all my vendors this was the one that was giving me this kind of trouble. It essentially cost them nothing to set me up, and I was willing to cough up most of the contract value upfront just to get out of it. In comparison, my dealer website company (Zopdealer) spent around 40 hours designing my website, fixing bugs and making modifications over the last year and they cancelled my contact no questions asked with a one-month penalty. My best guess is that because Cargurus is publicly traded they don’t want their sales numbers or subscriptions falling due to early cancellations so they would rather just write off bad debt and carry out the contract till its end date even if that means they won’t get paid. Aside from the whole cancellation ordeal, the service itself didn’t provide any real value. I ask all my leads how they found us and out of the 47 units we sold during our term with Cargurus only 5 appointments came from Cargurus and only 1 of those actually converted to a sale. Personally I saw an incomparably higher ROI on Facebook marketplace for a fraction of the cost of Cargurus. I have a few dealer friends and they are currently seeing similar results with Cargurus. One thing I know for sure is that if I re-enter the industry again down the line I will not be signing up with Cargurus ever again. If you’re a dealer looking to signup with Cargurus I would at the very least recommend refusing to sign a contract with them unless they include some sort of escape clause. They are all business over there and don’t care about your situation or about saving the relationship. Update: They replied saying that I should reach out to my account rep because the account rep is positioned to review options. I did try my account rep. They ghosted me multiple times and when we finally connected the account rep said there are no options lol

They LIE about the data breach they had. Millions of records with personal data had been shared on the darknet and these guys flat out LIE about it being a "limited breach". Pathetic and a company that does not even tell the truth when they f..ed something up is NOT a company I would trust with anything. Neither should you!

Might have sold a car if you weren’t… asking me to sign up every 30 seconds… desperate attempt with garbage vehicles and I hope you go out of business

Might have sold a car if you weren’t asking me to download your app every 30 seconds instead of showing me the car idiot. I hope you go out of business. What a bunch of goddamn garbage.

Sight needs to have rules.

I like using the sight. It is easy and can save a lot of time and money. Ive bought with no problems in past. Looks like things have changed. The price that is on your sight. Should be the price of the car. Otherwise the great deals aren't realy great deals. And pricing means nothing. Found a cat for $57000 great deal. Said i would pay them $57000. They said that was the wholesale price they were asking $68000. That before adding any taxes. That should not be aloud. And you should not allow that practice on your sight. .

Thank you for your feedback—we’re glad to hear you’ve had positive experiences in the past, but we’re sorry this situation was frustrating. What you described is not in line with our pricing policies, as dealers are not permitted to advertise prices that are conditional or misleading. We’d appreciate the opportunity to look into this further—please reach out to our support team with the listing details here: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/enterFeedback.action

Bait and Switch

Very few of the vehicles I looked at on CarGurus website were advertising the actual sale price. If you want to pay cash for a car, look elsewhere. Most of the cars I looked at the dealer wanted $1000-$2500 more if I did not have a trade in and just wanted to pay cash. The one I did find that took cash, the AC did not work, they did not disclose this until I was on the lot, and I live in Southern Arizona.

Don’t bother making an account

Don’t bother making an account. This company has failed to contact me in regards to them being hacked and customers details obtained by hackers. I have now received emails with threats and have been informed they have access to everything. They have also been able to access my searches on the internet due to this and explained they have my photos when I have children!! I am absolutely furious that this has happened and people now have access to photos of my children! I will be in touch and I will be taking it further I can’t even explain how angry I am!

If there was an option for less than one star

If there was an option for less than one star for the dealersip i purchased a vehicle at after finding a vehicle from there on your site. I’d pick less than zero. Literally the worst customer service and purchase experience of my life 47 years on this earth and I’ve seen some awful stuff but this place should win an award for worst dealership in Canada. Delivered a leaky vehicle full of water and after driving up and down the island several times over almost a month after purchasing the vehicle dealing with repairs they gave me one final kick in the nuts and left me with barely enough gas to get to the gas station in the hand off at the Campbell river dealership not involved just a handoff point I will never walk into another Ford dealership again as a result of this experience. If you are shopping for a vehicle skip this place you are literally better off going anywhere else. Got a lot to say but the coles notes version is skip this dealership if you value your money and time and want an experience that isn’t a hassle. The Car Guru site does not allow me to leave a review like your site says you can. I would like to post this review linked to sunshine mountain ford dealership in nanaimo but is next to impossible to do. If you are gonna say you post legitimate feed back about customer experiences from the dealerships you list on your site then you should make it a loooot easier or even possible for me to leave a review. I have pictures of the leaky vehicle they delivered and the empty gas tank i barely made it to the gas station with that they left me. I can back up this is a legitimate dogwater customer service experience and was easily able to post it on google....but not here. This is where I found the vehicle and the nightmare experience that followed. So Post my review. Ask me for more evidence. Other customers should be aware of what the reality of the experience on the ground is.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience—it sounds extremely frustrating and not at all the level of service anyone should expect after purchasing a vehicle. We understand how disappointing it must have been to deal with ongoing issues and communication challenges following your purchase. Regarding reviews, CarGurus only allows users to leave dealership reviews if the inquiry originated through our platform and a review invitation email is sent. If you haven’t received that email or are having difficulty accessing the review option, we’re happy to look into it further for you. Please feel free to share the email address used and any additional details so we can assist.

DON’T BOTHER

I did a Google search and found a vehicle I showed to my boss who wanted me to find out for info. I filled out all the info and it is now 9 days later and I STILL haven’t heard anything. I went back to CarGurus and asked if I was going to hear from anyone and they basically blew me off and told me to contact the dealer which I have 3 times and STILL nothing. DONT EVEN BOTHER!

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it is not to receive a response after multiple attempts. Dealers are responsible for responding to inquiries, but we recognize how disappointing this situation is.

We truly appreciate the feedback and 5-star rating!

False advertising to lure you in

I went to a couple of these used car dealerships that have the cars you advertised. The site advertise optional financing with monthly payment ranging low as $89, $90, $102. Most of these dealerships accept cash only, no financing. Then I sat in one dealerships and the gentleman said evening with the $2000 down payments the note would still be around $500 if the vehicle is under $10,000. And if we was to buy a vehicle over $10,000, we would least have to put down better than half to get a low note.
