What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Consumers frequently praise the genuinely helpful customer service because they can easily talk to real human agents without dealing with frustrating automated phone bots. Many people also appreciate the remarkably fast delivery options and the wonderfully thoughtful personal touches like sympathy cards and flowers sent when pets pass away.
Some reviewers were not happy with persistent delivery problems, such as third-party carriers leaving heavy packages in inconvenient locations or dropping off damaged cans. A few other people also felt that managing prescription orders can be challenging when medical approvals stall and support agents fail to resolve issues effectively.

On 3/13/2026 I lost my dog Marlee due to cancer and then on 6/6/2026 I lost his sister Harlee due to a heart attack. They were 9 years old. My heart is shattered. I just have to give a big Thank You out to Chewy for all their love and support during the loss of both my babies. They were so compassionate and understanding with me when I let them know. They truly care deeply for their customers. I highly recommend them for all your pet needs.
I am sickened and appalled by what CHEWY PHARMACY DID
I am sickened and appalled by what the Chewy pet pharmacy did to me this week. My cat got bitten from my new cat. I called my vet, she prescribed antibiotics and told me to call chewy to get it delivered to me. I did that and at noon the next day I received the box with the pills. I gave my cat the first pill. But that night around midnight I found out they sent me the wrong pills. I called chewy, spoke to pharmacy supervisor, told her. She apologized and said she will make sure I get the correct pills fast. So the next day I get emails from chewy saying the pills should be here in a week. My cat could be dead from infection by then. A week? This whole scenario is unacceptable and horrific. My cat’s life is on the line and this s what they do? And I still have no meds for her. It has not even been shipped so far.
Chewy pharmacy received a prescription and approval from my vet and me for insulin for my dog and never sent it. Then told me they needed approval from my Vet. Which they already had. The worst service the worst experience.
They used to send emails before an autoship was sent so you could add, adjust, delay, etc. Now you just get the email that says your chewy order is being processed. Because of this, I have cancelled all of my auto shipments with them.
Chewy has always been wonderful and easy for ordering food for my two fur babies. I've ordered from them for many years. Recently, I lost my 17 year old beagle and they sent me a beautiful flower arrangement with a card offering their condolences! I was absolutely amazed! What a thoughtful and compassionate company. I would HIGHLY recommend them.
Chewy was our go-to for food, supplies and meds. Always easy and efficient. Then our dog Bella died :-(
I reached out to Chewy to cancel our subscriptions and return all of the recently received unused items. With complete compassion, they offered to credit our account and asked that we donate the items. We donated everything to the Humane Society to their delight.
As if that wasn't enough, we then received a personalized condolence card.
A company who provides personalized compassionate customer service deserves a review showing that they go above and beyond what is expected.
I have been a customer for 10 years and had never complained or had an issue. And then my first time, half of my order was missing. They say they shipped it which is probably true, but it doesn't mean it wasn't lost. Not even a one time, we will take care of this for you, answer. Instead they said everything was done right on their end sorry about your luck. What a way to lose a customer.
My mother passed away in 2021 and I told chewy and I sent the forms and they said no problem. We will close her account and I closed things on my end.
Well now they are sending her ad cards again in 2026 and I contact them to ask them to remove her from the mailing list and I’m told that I have to send a copy of her death certificate to them.
I said I’m not doing this again.
I am absolutely blown away by the compassion and humanity of Chewy's customer service. I was recently going through a very difficult time, dealing with personal pain and health challenges, and needed help making sure I had enough supplies for the month. I spoke with Mary from Dallas, Texas, and she didn't just treat me like an order number—she treated me like a family member. Mary stayed on the phone with me as long as I needed, showing genuine concern for my personal well-being, my health, and my beloved pets. In a world where customer support usually feels rushed and automated, this wonderful woman made me feel heard, cared for, and supported during a tough moment. Chewy has earned my loyalty forever. Thank you, Mary, from the bottom of my heart! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Returns are SO easy if you use the chat. I love they have what I need. They are very friendly and user appreciation! They often say donate the food instead of returning it and they give you a refund fast. Delivery is fast too. LOVE CHEWY!!!
I have always liked Chewy. They have a good variety, pricing is reasonable and delivery is great. But now I love them:
They somehow found out that I lost my dog and sent me a flower arrangement to honor him. You guys are wonderful!!! Thank you!!!!
Chewy is the best pet supply company in the world. I depend on them for suggestions for my fur babies. They carry everything you could want or need. If I ever have a problem I know Chewy will take of it and make me happy. You Rock Chewy!!!!!
chewy is expensive, overall. however, some of their products are affordable, and putting prices aside, the quality of the many items i have bought from chewy have been perfect and have arrived earlier than expected (i bought a lot too). i bought items for my new hamster and the quality and quantity was all good, and I've bought monthly items from chewy for my cat.
My dog recently passed. I talked with Chewy about canceling my auto ships. I asked about returning meds that had not been opened. They gave me a full refund. And I didn’t have to return it. They were great about all of these issues. Then the next day, I received flowers from Desmariaha and the Chewy family. I cried. Such a nice gesture.
I have been using Chewy Auto-Ship for about 6 months now and find it serves my cats well. It works well for the litter, which usually comes right on time. But I cannot seem to time the cat food, so I have opted to order as I need it rather than having bags all over or going out to buy a bag before the shipment comes in. I also get the cat toys from Chewy. I had some toys that the cats barely even sniffed, and I wrote a review on the Chewy website saying so. Well, I was reimbursed for that order, which was not my intention. So now I am afraid to leave a review because I don't want them to think I am taking advantage of Chewy. Anyway, I love Chewy, and over the past 6 months, I have enjoyed their prompt services.
They need to offer zero stars here, because that's what Chewy deserves. I decided to give them another chance after we complained about what FedEx was doing. So we started auto ship again with Chewy, and here we go again with FedEx, worse this time. Fedex will not come down our driveway off the road because it is "private property". Chewy says it's the FedEx drivers decision if he wants to come to the house or not! The knuckle dragging morons from FedEx left 5 boxes of cat litter at the end of the road, with our gate wide open, and on wet grass to boot with rain in the forecast! Thank God I saw the boxes at the end of the road!! Chewy sided with the FedEx driver. If Chewy is going to put all their eggs in FedEx's basket, and lose customers just because they are too lazy to sort out the shipping issues , then to hell with them. Chewy, I mean this with all my heart When I say " kiss my ass". There's more companies than you out there.
I have decided to stop ordering cat food from Chewy after doing so for many years. I’m tired of all the dented cans, when they could easily pack the boxes better. Yes, they will send replacements, but the replacements are usually dented, too. And why should I have to contact them every time I receive an order to tell them that yet again my order has arrived damaged? Until they can do better, I’ll shop elsewhere.
I have been doing business with Chewy.com for many years and have always been so impressed with their efficiency and customer service. I recently updated my pet portal due to the death of one of my cats, and to my surprise, a few days later, I received flowers from them! I was truly blessed by their thoughtfulness.
