I really like my TT8 treadmill. The treadmill itself is solid, performs well, and feels like a quality piece of equipment. I also think the instructors and classes are excellent. Unfortunately, the screen and user interface significantly detract from what otherwise would be a great treadmill.
The UX simply doesn’t feel designed around how the average person actually runs. The default speed and incline buttons are oddly chosen and would be far more useful if they reflected common running speeds—or, better yet, were programmable. Important workout metrics aren't always easy to see, and getting to the information or controls you want while running often requires pressing multiple buttons. On a treadmill, the interface should be simple, intuitive, and require as little interaction as possible.
My bigger concern, however, is reliability. My screen became extremely glitchy and ultimately failed after about a year. At one point, the treadmill changed speeds abruptly and then shut down, which was concerning from a safety standpoint. Customer service deserves credit for replacing the screen promptly, but I was surprised by how little protective packaging the replacement screen had when it arrived. Given the number of complaints I've seen about screen performance, this seems like an area that deserves more attention.
I'm writing this review because I genuinely like the treadmill and would like to see the company improve the product. The mechanical side of the TT8 is very good, the instructors are excellent, and the fundamentals are all there. But the screen is the primary way the customer interacts with the treadmill, so its reliability and UX are just as important as the hardware.
My suggestion to the company is simple: invest in a more reliable screen and redesign the UX around the way everyday runners actually use a treadmill. Make the most important metrics visible, reduce the number of button presses required while running, and make the speed and incline shortcuts programmable or more practical.
Fix those things, and I think the TT8 could go from being a very good treadmill with a frustrating interface to an excellent overall product.
I have a Sole F63 treadmill that I use every day for an hour. It is very sturdy. After two years of daily use, I needed some service. Shane, the Service Manager, and Tiana, the customer service person were both very helpful and went "above and beyond" to address the issue. My experience with their customer service is very positive.
DO NOT BUY FROM SOLE!
I ordered a Sole F85 treadmill over two months ago and still don't have a treadmill or a refund. The first one arrived severely damaged. After weeks of trying to reach the returns department (which only communicates by email), a replacement was finally sent—only for the shipping company to refuse delivery because it was also severely damaged.
Now I'm still waiting to hear back about my refund request. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience with poor customer service, slow response times, and a completely dysfunctional returns process. I would never buy from Sole again.
For starters, the product wasn't delivered on the day it was scheduled, and nobody contacted me about it. They just didn't show up. I had to call them to schedule a new delivery date, and then take a second day off from work. Once delivered, there were six washers missing from the parts supplied. I called Sole and they said it could take up to 2 weeks to get the washers. So I went to the hardware store myself and bought them. Then, one of the steps of the instructions did not correspond with the diagram. I called Sole again and had the rep look at the exact diagram as I was seeing. He told me to skip that step as they were still working out bugs in their instructions. Finally, after assembling the treadmill, it would not work. I called yet again and they said that the console needed to be replaced, but it could take up to 2 months to get a new one. At that point I requested a refund. As a final parting shot, they didn't pick up the treadmill on the date they said they would. Even the return had to be rescheduled. I don't want to sound dramatic, but everything about the Sole treadmill, from start to finish, was a disaster.
I love the automatic email thanking me for the order and saying im great 😊. I trust the products. High quality, and none of that ‘smart’ device android os stuff which has a history of bricking the device like other brands. Sole is to me like a 1980s solar calculator: Built to survive 100 years.
Comparing all the different treadmills to determine which one fit my needs was very simple. All the information I was looking for was available for each model and made my decision easy. Now let’s see how the model performs when it arrives, stay tuned!
I would have given it a 5 star, but something didn't add up.. I went on ID.ME, which is a website that sells to First responders, Military, etc....and it clearly has Sole Fitness on there, offering up to 4% off.. I called customer service, and they checked with 'management', and they said they have NO relationship with ID.ME.....and there is no discount.....MMMM......
Bought the new model F80 in May, has broken twice since then and just been told they can't get the parts to fix it until mid august. Even when they came out to fix it there was a two week wait each time. Every aspect of the customer service was extremely slow and they didn't seem to care that I was frustrated. Really wasted my money here. I heard the quality of their machines was going downhill but this really was the worst experience!
Called on got helpful info on the product, shipping and delivery. Website is well laid out and ordering and instructions are clear and easy. Now lets see how delivery and set up go... so far so good.
This company has zero customer service, and doesn't care about the customer or doing things fairly
This company has zero customer service: they hide behind low level 'customer reps' and operate with impunity, even when there is a colossal screw up. There is simply no one in authority to talk to and they stonewall (in my case, I took 3 days off work because of delivery chaos/incompetence - and got a $150 concession for all my wasted time after spending thousands. ) They have been sued and/or investigated multiple times for fraudulent advertising, performance of their equipment, and claiming claiming something is 'on sale' when that is the fairly normal price, iHere's a clip from AI: "Sole Fitness was sued in a major nationwide class-action lawsuit for false advertising regarding the horsepower ratings of its treadmills. To resolve the claims, the company agreed to a $3.65 million settlement, which provided cash payments and website credits to affected consumers.Key Details of the False Advertising LawsuitThe Allegations: Plaintiffs claimed that Sole Fitness (Fitness Equipment Services, LLC) deceptively advertised continuous horsepower (CHP) ratings for its treadmills. The lawsuit alleged that these advertised numbers were laboratory-based and unreachable in standard residential outlets, leading consumers to pay higher prices based on misleading specifications. The Settlement: Without admitting any wrongdoing, Sole Fitness agreed to a $3.65 million nationwide settlement fund. Eligible class members received a cash payout along with a $100 transferable gift card to use on the Sole Fitness website.Affected Models: The settlement covered several popular household treadmills purchased between 2015 and 2022 (e.g., Sole F63, F65, F80, F85, S73, S77, TT8, etc.).Other Class Actions and Investigation sPricing Claims: Sole Fitness has also been scrutinized in legal analyses regarding "fake discounts" and false reference pricing, where sellers artificially elevate the original price to make "sale prices" appear artificially steep.Product Performance Probes: Legal firms like Migliaccio & Rathod LLP have investigated the brand over consumer reports of console failures, premature motor breakdowns, and other product defect concerns on specific models. If you were affected by the previous lawsuit or need to check whether you qualify for recent or ongoing actions, you can keep track of proceedings on legal platforms like Top Class Actions or seek advice from consumer advocacy outlets like Truth in Advertising.
When I called for help with very specific questions regarding a recumbent bike, the information I received helped tremendously!! Now I hope the bike performs as advertised!!
Aaron Parker was knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely kind. He showed real ownership, treating the situation like it was his own product. He made it clear the goal is a happy customer with a quality treadmill.
I own a 2011 model that still runs strong, which speaks to the build quality. Because of that and my experience with Aaron, I will likely stay a Sole customer for life.
I bought a brand new Sole TT8 a year ago. Probably put 40 miles a week on it between my wife and I.
It is the biggest POS I’ve ever had. It will sometimes just not start. I have had it service by Sole where they replaced the wiring harness twice now.
Mid run, it just completely died and won’t turn on. Fuse is good, power cord is on but screen is dead. I have to unscrew the top, pull it off the arms and put it back. All of a sudden it will work again.
Now I have to look to not only throw away a $3500 treadmill but replace it with a new one.
Very easy to find what we wanted and order it. Amazingly fast response from Sole Fitness after we placed the order. Can’t wait for our Sole LCR Exercise bike to be delivered.
The on line ordering was pretty easy and straight forward. I did try to call customer service with a few questions and was on hold for a while so I just went on line. If I have questions after I will reach out.
