It would have been helpful if the tech would have gave a little demonstration on some of the features. Such as how to adjust the volume on the monitor and how to work the camera feature.

Deal with the devil

If you choose Ackerman... it's for life. You will never get out of your contract and they will continue charging you even after your contract ends. I've been trying to cancel since March (contract ends in JULY). Paid my contract in full. They keep saying they "didn't get it". They also keep charging me!!! Now I email them 50x a day and mail my cancel form 10x day until they refund and confirm a cancelation. They've been telling me since March someone in their "Loyalty Dept" will get back to me-- but no one has. I've reported them to BBB. There is no "loyalty dept" btw.

I want to cancel my account…

I want to cancel my account with Ackerman. Have been trying for nearly 21/2 weeks. Been leaving messages for the "Loyalty Dept ". They don't respond back in a timely fashion. In the meantime my account with them is still active and Im still paying on it. I have obtained another Home Security system. Have no need for Ackerman. This is bad business Ackerman! From what im told, I can only get my cancelation document from the "Loyalty Dept" in order to start cancelation process. But the "unloyal Dept" won't get in touch with the customers in a reasonable time frame. I an very frustrated!

Ackerman used to be a good company but times have changed ...

Called to ask about changing service and got UNREAL numbers. I have been an Ackerman customer for over 15 years. I told the Customer Care person that I would be calling other companies to get quotes, and she told me "Okay". So much for any Customer Loyalty department for a long-term customer. Fast forward three weeks after I switched service. Called to cancel service on local Atlanta number and was on hold over 45 minutes (after speaking to someone after a 10 minute wait). I called a toll free number on another phone (while my current call is still in the queue line) and the person that answered told me the Atlanta department that handles cancellations leave at 5:00. Good luck trying to get anyone on a direct line in Atlanta to help.

It took several tries to get Ackerman to the point of installation

It took several tries to get Ackerman up to speed with their update. The first two live encounters told me there would be no costs for the upgrade. Ackerman missed an appointment to install the no-cost upgrade. After calling, I was informed I would be paying for the upgrade. The sales rep made his presentation and revealed a small cost upgrade which I authorized. The upgrade went from there to be as they said and was performed by a very professional technician in short order. Its all behind me know.

Finally had 3 Ackerman people who…

Finally had 3 Ackerman people who listened to my problem and fixed it in 2 days. Upgrading was a problem for several months but these 3 folks were super. The tech who came really knew what he was doing, was personable, did everything exceedingly well. This was a great answer to my situation.
