Many consumers recounted difficulties with interactions, such as extended hold times, being hung up on, or receiving disrespectful treatment from staff and management. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that certain employees provided exceptional assistance and knowledge, going above and beyond for the shopper's needs. Some reviewers experienced timely and efficient deliveries, or found store associates genuinely helpful with product guidance. Conversely, other individuals pointed out problems like receiving damaged appliances, instances where delivery drivers left items inappropriately, or receiving inaccurate items after ordering online.

Window AC left in yard by road

Ordered a window air conditioner that was supposed to be delivered on a Tuesday originally. Got a notice today of on a Sunday that it was coming that day. Got a notice on a Sunday that it was coming that day instead. I was already worried because I saw they shipped it with ontrac who is notoriously bad at everything. So I got to notice it was delivered and I had seen no one anywhere, went to the end of my 350-ft driveway and found it sitting on the ground right next to the road. I'm an elderly woman had no one around to move it and had to bother somebody else on a Sunday to drive all the way over here pick up a heavy air conditioner and haul it to my house. The bracket I ordered however was shipped with UPS for delivery later on a totally different day, and had they shipped with a reliable delivery provider such as UPS or FedEx it would have been brought to my home like it should have been. Forget talking to anyone in customer service at Home Depot or Ontrac you're just wasting more of your time because they could care less. Totally unacceptable I will never order delivery from them again.

I have been living in holiday for more…

I have been living in holiday for more than 6 year in this neighborhood, and I visiting this store near me frequently, i have the best opinion about these employees, very kind and helpful, every time when i need help they are willing for help, thanks to Diana, last time she recommended a pesticide for fleas in my garden, even I bought the best product ever than others, My best wishes for those guys.Sincerely Nidia

The most horrible credit card on earth

The most horrible credit card on earth. They split a single purchase of two items into two purchases 2 years no interest. The billed 50 per month on the 4500 balance and I paid 100 every month for 24 months = $2400.00. I failed to pay the two items off and now they claim I owe 6100.00 after paying 2400.00. @ 29.9 interest 4500.00 is roughly 1350.00 per year and I paid 1200.00 each year . Now owe 2900.00 more than the purchase = total they claim they are molesting me out of is 4500+2400 pmts+ 2900 extra interest totaling ($9890.00) . Double my purchase price. Don’t fall for their crooked 100% interest deferred plans !!!!!!!! We closed both our families cards and another persons too! He was blown away by how crooked these people truly are.

Deception Home Depot

If you buy a washer/dryer from Home Depot they do not list or tell you, you need new valves. They do this because it’s very expensive. I even called & said is anything else needed, no, no. So I wait 5 hours on a Saturday for installation. Then the installation guy explains we cannot do anything till you get new valves & that Home D knows this. Just tell the customer the truth. I still would have bought the washer & dryer & most importantly I would have had the valves completed, so everything could have been installed. Basically I missed an entire Saturday just to find out Home D lied to me. If you are thinking about a new washer & dryer. Get some plumbers out so you can get the best price possible. There are bad business tactics & then just completely deceiving the customer. That’s Home D. And there are solid competitors. Use them. Maybe they will not deceive you. Update: Called Home Depot. They do mention the valves “in the how to prepare email”. Under the main bulleted instructions, under all the rules & regulations, is a link to a link. Haha. The best is talking to the customer service people. “We’re sorry you couldn’t follow instructions”. Nor could ChatGPT, Claude, haha. It’s these businesses that make people lose trust in businesses & Home D is sooooo rich. Just help us out. Mention the valves in the bulleted to be prepared for list. I’d at least not have lost a Saturday.

These guys have been constantly rude to…

These guys have been constantly rude to me and I'm just trying to give them my money. All I want is to have my back door replaced. First they don't show up. Secondly when they do, they are just plain mean. I realize that my home is in disrepair, but the level of condensation is uneessaccy. Then the guy who calls me asked, so what door do you want? I'm like I don't know, what are my options? He says well it seems pretty standard. I asked where I can view my options. He says, hey, you need a custom door, why don't I make a bunch of custom doors for you and you can pick the one you want and starts laughing. It's been very traumatic. Don't give them your business.

Impossible to shop online

Unfortunately I quit shopping at Home Depot online because both the website and the application are nearly impossible to use. They're so extremely slow and the search is useless. I don't know how long you're going to wait before they actually get some programs that can fix this application and the website. I know I'm not the only one that is complained I've read hundreds and hundreds and there's probably more of unhappy past customers. Count me as a past customer

Gaslit, mistreated by a customer service representative

I scheduled an appointment to have a free consultation for installing plantation shutters. Was expecting Jenny Lee from Rockwood shutters and as I was waiting during the scheduled appointment a Jenny from Home Depot window coverings sent a message that I didn't confirm and I needed to reschedule. I called to tell her that I confirmed and that I have taken off work and was waiting and she accused me of being confrontational, when I was responding appropriately to the situation. She said she couldn't send a person when I was being confrontational. She clearly escalated because they had no intention of keeping our appointment and she clearly wanted to make it my fault by gaslighting me. I will use another company . This Jenny in window coverings is a dishonest person I don't recommend working with this department from Home Depot. I called in and made a formal complaint

I ordered a Costway Dehumidifier and purchased extended warranty in good faith.

I ordered a Costway Dehumidifier in July 2025 from the Depot. Purchased an extended warranty from AllState also known as Allsquare at time of purchase. Unit arrived on the 31st of July and worked until May of 2026 - quit working properly and claim process initiated was underwhelming. All square sent me to Costway regarding warranty claim despite the 90 day warranty embedded in the Depot’s literature. Back and forth with both resulting in approved claim to seek repair services with Allsqaure but none available and neither manufacturer or AllSquare offer authorized repair providers near me. Unless you live near an authorized repair service then I recommend you buy another brand from a reputable dealer. Who selects products to sell for profit from a vendor/manufacturer that has no interest or capacity to support their products. Well that would be the Georgia peaches that crawled into bed with Costway. Don’t take my word for it look at all the Costway products on the Home Depot site and check mfr warranty periods. Buyers beware - Home Depot corporate could care less.

Om nom nom Janska 8 burner gas griddle

We just recently ordered a Janska Professional 48inch 8 burner with griddle double gas range in stainless steel eith gold knobs and handle. The delivery guy was outstanding and kind and helpful. The conversion from electric to gas enhances our fine dining taste. The silver and gold accentuates our urban kitchen. It tastes like cheese when you kiss the silver and it taste like bacon when you kiss the gold! This company is on another level that has ascended to heaven bc our taste buds were so delighted. om nom nom.

Today is June 11th

Today is June 11th, I've been trying to buy an air conditioner since May 19th, they lost two orders, Fedex, their delivery service yesterday could not find the delivery address, today they are supposed to make delivery, we'll see. From now on HomeDepot will not be my first source for purchases. Update, they report that the air conditioner has been delivered, it has not. Called HomeDepot, they have agreed to giving me a refund. So, that is the end of this story, HomeDepot is a poor company to deal with, it feels like HomeDepot is a dying company, they such a poor company, it seems they are committing suicide. By the way, Fedex reports that they delivered the package, they did not, they say they got a signature from the recipient, looks like someone, somewhere got a free air conditioner.

Damaged Item

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I waited two weeks for my refrigerator to be delivered today, only to find that the glass shelves were damaged upon arrival. The delivery driver mentioned that they had already encountered a similar issue earlier in the day, where another customer had unloaded all their food and removed their old refrigerator—only to have to bring it back when the new unit was found to be defective. This suggests a recurring problem, potentially during packaging at the manufacturing plant or during the shipping process. Experiencing multiple incidents like this in a single day is concerning and points to a broader quality control issue. As a result, I now have to wait until July 2nd for a replacement, and the response I received from Home Depot was simply an apology. Given the circumstances, this is not an adequate resolution. If I were not constrained by the use of a gift card, I would go another route. This situation has been highly inconvenient and frustrating. I hope Home Depot will take this feedback seriously and implement measures to improve product handling and customer service resolutions.

I was recently at Home Depot in Apex…

I was recently at Home Depot in Apex NC. I needed help with the purchase of bricks. A very nice, helpful sales person, Gianna walked me over to where the bricks are and asked another nice, helpful sales person to help me. Gianna stayed with me while the other sales person, I do not know his name but he was in lumber, got the bricks down and he and Gianna placed the bricks into a cart. After all 39 bricks were loaded into a cart, I was using a scooter cart, Gianna pushed the cart to the cashier where I paid. She then placed all the bricks in my trunk. Thank you so much to these 2 sales people who helped me today.

Do not waste your money on a CostWay…

Do not waste your money on a CostWay mini split system sold by Home Depo. They will charge you for the unit. They will charge you for delivery of the unit. It is advertised as a DYI installation, but the installation instructions direct that you pay for professional installer. The unit ultimately will not have any coolant in it, although it is falsely advertised as being "pre-charged". When you call for customer service help, Home Depo will give you an incorrect number. When you Google the number yourself, a non-English person will claim to send you a troubleshooting guide via email. It will never be received. Meanwhile, you paid for an a/c unit that doesn't cool; a heating unit that doesn't heat, and paid two professionals to make a completely defective unit do what you paid it to do---yet it doesn't. Don't shop Home Depo.

Home Depot Sells Defective A/Cs

I bought an air conditioner, Vissani, and it doesn't work. I attempted to return it after the 7 day policy was up, and was rudely declined. I was not available to install the AC till around the 6'th day of having it. I gave 2 full days and verified that the product was defective. I was directed toward the manufacturer of the AC, which is a GE product. Their customer support gave me a case #. When I went to follow up 3 days following, they hung up on me. My experience has been spread around. Home Depot has lost some business based on my experience. You lost me as a customer forever.
