I love this concept of mixing recipes and ingredients along with the option of ordering your every day groceries. I used to have to pay for my meal subscription plan and then go spend another 50-100 on snacks and breakfast. But with this I can get everything I need in one place.

when i selected vegetarian they chose meals that are actually vegetarian. they pay attention to gelatin and broth and enzymes/rennet, which i could not find with other meal services. 1000% worth the money and the meals are delicious and easy to follow recipe.

Excited to Try Hungryroot, Disappointed by the Results
After reading numerous outstanding reviews, my wife and I decided to give Hungryroot a try. Unfortunately, our first shipment will also be our last.
The box arrived on time and appeared undamaged from the outside. However, when we opened it, the contents looked as though they had been packed with very little care. I understand that issues can occur during shipping, but this was far beyond what I would consider normal transit damage.
The dry food items were soaked from water leaking out of the ice packs. In addition, several dressing packets had burst open, covering the produce and other ingredients in warm dressing. To make matters worse, the bag containing the meat was not tied closed. While customer service explained that the meat is not intended to arrive frozen, I certainly did not expect raw meat juices to be spread throughout the box and on many of the other items.
With the ice packs completely melted, the meat was also no longer cold upon arrival, which raised additional food safety concerns. What started as excitement to try a highly recommended service quickly turned into disappointment and frustration.
To Hungryroot's credit, their customer service team responded within the timeframe they promised, addressed the issue professionally, and promptly processed our request to cancel the account. I appreciate their responsiveness, but unfortunately the condition of our first delivery left us with little confidence in continuing the service.

Our ice packs are designed to melt in transit and are designed to keep all perishables cold still.
We also apologize that it sounds like the bag for meat was not secured and caused additional damage.
I see you reached out to support and were issued a full refund for the damage that occurred during shipping.
Genuinely satisfied with the quality of food that is being delivered. my son recently went vegan and i needed recipe ideas. We've stuck with it. It makes cooking dinner a lot faster with our busy schedules too.

I like that they send the quantity that I need for each week and most of the produce are fresh. Sometimes I have gotten produce that were not in a good state. They were getting rotten/moldy (e.g. spinach, zucchini, broccoli etc.) I would appreciate if they could revise/double check these produce before sending it out! Generally, I enjoy your app and food. There are parts of it that are good for people with food allergies. But they use OnTrac which is a terrible service, and if you're in an apartment complex, they will not drop it off at your door, per their new policy. They will leave it, for example, either outside the Amazon lockers (if you have that, or the equivalent of the mail room). Which, if you are in a state with humid weather, can cause food to spoil prematurely, so you better be available to pick it up fast. Also, there have been multiple cases of inadequate meat and fish packaging, where there are holes in both and they cross-contaminate each other. Overall, I would not recommend this service long-term. I will be switching over to a new one very soon. I've had enough of dealing with this. It's inconvenient and borderline dangerous. Again, I've had 3 cases of cross-contamination with photo evidence. Yet you get some automated response and they offer to comp those products. Is a comped $5 value worth you getting food poisoning?

I’ve only made two meals so far and both were extremely easy to prepare and delicious! I have been in a rut because I work long stressful hours and I just don’t feel like I have the energy to cook after work, but I’m also a healthy and clean eater so it’s been challenging to stay on the healthy side. I’m so grateful to have this service because it just takes a few minutes to prep a healthy meal after a long day at work and I feel so much better about myself plus I’m getting a much more diverse diet. I tend to get in a rut and eat the same things all the time. I’m excited to see how the next meal goes and to try new recipes!

I've been using Hungryroot on and off for several years and I really enjoy deliveries from this company! Their recipes and grocery options are very high quality and delicious. Recipes and pairings are creative without crazy directions or lots of prep. They include a huge variety of products, allowing for preferences, allergy accommodation, and options to filter for health goals.
I have always had a successful delivery experience- never had any major damage or spoilage.
Also, the cookie dough and the brownie batter are crave worthy- I've never actually even baked them 😋 they cant seem to make it past the spoon!

I'm new to Hungryroot and this is only my second week ordering. I absolutely loved my first delivery, everything arrived fresh, well packaged, and the recipes were great.
Unfortunately, this week's delivery was a different experience. My box arrived with opened sauce packets, and I also received pasta that I can't eat due to an allergy. To make matters worse, I discovered that not only had the chili lime sauce exploded in the box, but the marinara sauce was open as well.
It was pretty disappointing, especially after such a positive first experience. I'm hoping this was just a one time issue because I really enjoyed my first order and would love to continue using the service.

My doctors said the Mediterranean way of eating would be a big benefit to my health, I just didn't know where to start.
