What people say

Terrible service

I used LF to ship my suitcases from San Francisco, CA to Vancouver, BC. The service was far below what I'd expect for a premium luggage shipping company. Communication was consistently poor from start to finish. I was never informed that their scheduled luggage pickup had failed, never received meaningful tracking updates, and wasn't notified when the delivery attempt was unsuccessful. I had to repeatedly contact Luggage Forward myself just to find out where my luggage was and ultimately coordinate with FedEx to retrieve it. I could have just worked directly with Fedex to ship my items. The entire experience was frustrating, unnecessarily stressful, and required far more effort on my part than it should have. If you're paying a premium for convenience and peace of mind, this service failed to deliver either. I filed a complaint with them and have not received any updates for over a month. Very frustrating to work with

Great service!!

This was our first time using luggage forward and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had lots of questions and they were very patient. My only concern was the pickup window from FedEx was 1-4pm, they came at 11am…thank goodness our son was home otherwise we would’ve had to rescheduled pick up while traveling in the UK. Luggage came back ahead of schedule upon our return.

Luggage Forward drops the ball

I choose Luggage Forward to ship my golf clubs to Scotland, Was told to drop off this past Friday “at the nearest staffed DHL location”. Headed to the main DHL site at Salt Lake City airport to find DHL was closed that Friday for the 4th of July holiday. I called and texted luggage forward to ask what to do, 2 days later still no reply so called again, the rep seemed genuinely surprised DHL had a holiday on July 3 (isn’t that your business to keep track of these things?) then after checking said they could send on Monday but couldn’t guarantee on time arrival. Cancelled my shipment will lug around clubs to several airports along the way. You pay a premium for luggage forward, this experience was pretty negative all around

Our heavy luggage was collected on-time…

Our heavy luggage was collected on-time at our front door. The next time we saw it was on the ship in our room. When we arrived in Southampton, after collecting our luggage at the terminal, there were smiling Luggage Forward representatives waiting to greet us and collect our luggage to send to our Paris hotel. We didn’t have to touch or lift the luggage. This is the best way to travel, especially with heavy bags. The only improvements that could be made are the telephone wait times to speak to a U.S. telephone representative and their training. The two people I spoke with were not sufficiently trained to answer basic questions. The third agent was.

THEY TOTALLY DROPPED THE BALL!

After following their instructions on this shipping our our bag ... it was put on the right ship on the wrong date. It was put off the ship before sailing and put back in their warehouse. NO ONE INFORMED US and they missed our sailing - transatlantic! So, no chance to get it part way through our trip. They made us pay to get the bag returned to the US. NOT good customer service. Kak

not delivered to home doorstep as advertised

It was not a big deal that our suitcase wasn't picked up until 25 hours past the stated window period. That caused a bit of stress and took me 2 phone calls to customer service, but it arrived at the destination on time. The problem was the delivery back home. The suitcase was left at our apartment complex's main mailbox area, which has easy public access from a main street in our city. One of the primary reasons we chose this service was to avoid carrying luggage down and up stairs to our 2nd story apartment. This benefit only occurred for the down direction. For a suitcase/cruise ship situation or similar, I would probably use this service again. For shipping anything of high value, like a musical instrument or golf clubs, it would be too risky. The local courier partners don't care if the item could be stolen or too heavy for the customer to manage.
