I signed up with trugreen this year and…

I signed up with trugreen this year and it was $10 for the original or the first time treatment. So the second time they come out it's $256 and I thought what in the world they said it is for your regular lawn treatment plus grub. If I would have known it was going to cost that much I would have said no way but it's set up on automatic payment so they took $256 out of my account. It's just wrong. They should tell you that before they show up and before they charge you that amount. It's just not right. I canceled it. People are always taking advantage its seems like so frustrating and upsetting.

Horrible Service

I signed up this year thinking they would be better that my last company. The technician only did part of my lawn three times. I quit services immediately and they still billed for full service. Very poor service!!!!!

IRRESPONSIBLE!

I live next to a neighbor who calls up different lawn company every couple of weeks to spray her lawn. On a particularly windy day, I was gardening outdoors when TruGreen was called. The tech proceeded to spray her lawn in gusty conditions and I was unfortunately hit with the spray as our home is downwind to hers.The tech was masked and fully covered but I was not, exposing me to whatever toxicity that is in the chemicals he was spraying. This is in on Bridlewood Dr in Gainesville VA. I think the excessive and irresponsible spraying is the reason why nothing grows well other than grass in her lot. All her bushes look stunted and miserable.

I've been a TruGreen customer for several years, and unfortunately my experience has been disappointing. The biggest issue has been communication. I've called multiple times asking for an assessment of my lawn, whether additional services were actually needed, and even whether my lawn was in good enough condition that I could skip certain treatments. Each time, I was told that a technician would contact me, but no one ever followed up. It often feels like the focus is on continuing to sell and apply services rather than evaluating what the lawn actually needs. Treatments are performed and charges appear on my account, but I rarely receive any meaningful explanation of the condition of my lawn, the results of previous treatments, or recommendations tailored to my property. As a long-time customer, I expected more proactive communication, transparency, and professional guidance. Instead, it feels like services are applied on autopilot without much concern for whether they are necessary or effective. I would not recommend TruGreen to anyone looking for a lawn care company that provides personalized service and customer support.

Buyer beware

I signed up for tree and shrub protection. This is the second year they have serviced them. This spring I found a dead bush in my front lawn. I called true green and they sent out a so called specialist who gave me a word salad of reasons that I didn’t like. So they sent a specialist specialist who gave a different reason. Bottom line I was not happy with the results and with the customer service I was getting.

Quality producrmt but sloppy application, FIXED TIME WILL TELL

They do excellent for the grass but careless in their spray. They regularly overspary pacasandta and bushes. I had to remove oacasandra and plant lariape which is a grass. This time they probably killed all 13 tomato plants and two cucumber plants which are 3 foot away from the grass boundry. I will probanly cancel my contract. UPDATE: Just had a visit from branch manager, very helpful and understanding. He is taking steps to eliminate the overspraying. i will have to wait to see results but indications are looking good. FYI...i use their mosquito control, pest control and tree/shrub and of course lawn management. all services are excellent with excellent results, i just had overspray issues. i do not know why i see so many negative reviews.

My experience with TruGreen has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Throughout my time as a customer, I encountered ongoing communication issues, poor follow-up, and a lack of accountability when concerns were raised. What was promised during the sales process often did not align with the service that was ultimately delivered. When problems arose, I found myself repeatedly having to contact TruGreen for updates, explanations, and resolutions. Rather than proactively addressing concerns, the burden consistently fell on me to chase answers. Customer service representatives were polite, but politeness alone does not compensate for a lack of results and poor execution. There appeared to be little ownership of issues, and commitments made were not always followed through in a timely manner, if at all. As a paying customer, I expected professional lawn care backed by expertise, reliability, and responsive customer support. Instead, the experience was marked by frustration, unmet expectations, and a significant amount of wasted time. I chose TruGreen because of its reputation and national presence, expecting a level of service that would justify the investment. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of that standard. Based on my experience, I would not recommend TruGreen to others seeking dependable lawn care services. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars If you’re considering TruGreen, I would strongly encourage you to carefully evaluate alternative providers before making a commitment. My experience was characterized by poor communication, inconsistent service, and an overall lack of customer focus.

All good except notification needs work

All good except notification. TruGreen does not give enough advanced notice for me to adequately plan for the service. Also, it sure would be nice if the arrival window could be trimmed down to less than 5 hours.

killed trees and bushes 2025

Last year I signed up for their service in Franklin WI and the application or the technician sprayed killing 5 scotch pine trees and every bush on the west side of the house IN A RAISED FLOWER BED. No one is addressing my complaint and I will file in small claims court for reimbursement of our loss.

Trugreen does a great job

The technicians are very knowledgeable and polite.

Feels like a scam

Feels like a scam. I prepaid for my 2026 service, but was still charged for applications this year. When I called to cancel, she applied coupons instead of canceling, so I had to reiterate I was canceling and not paying another over $500 for services I already paid for. Truly disappointed for falling for this last year. Not really sure I've seen any true difference with the lawn either.

What not to do in the rain!

Came out to spray for weeds and fertilize only they came during a heavy rain storm and it all washed away! Told them they needed to talk to me before service F2F so they could understand my needs, but never tried, just sprayed in the rain! Now, weeds are still growing big and strong and they missed over 1/2 of the area required, then to call them was told okay to spray in the rain even though the weed control products previously used say to apply and let dry, never use when area wet! Scheduled new appointment, verified appointment and sat waiting, NEVER SHOWED, What a sad turn of events!

I always look forward to seeing my Tru Green technician. Normally it’s Michael Reyes and we normally have a great short conversation about what’s new in the plant world and if I have any concerns in my garden. He is my lifeline I have a lot of growth in my garden flowers, shrubs, roses, trees, birdbath, birdfeeders, and he’s always ready to help me temporarily remove them if I haven’t done it beforehand, he’s so knowledgeable patient and thorough. his demeanor is always cheerful. He’s so careful and professional. You’re very fortunate to have him as a member of your team. It’s really a privilege to have someone in this day and age be so service minded. Thank you for Mike. I certainly hope he sees this review and he is credited for his good service.
