Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently reported serious issues with unhelpful customer support teams, rude staff members, and extreme difficulties when trying to reach a real person for assistance. Shoppers also mentioned frequently receiving damaged or defective items, missing components in home orders, and serious problems with delayed or incorrect shipments.
The minority of people were satisfied with the helpful staff, finding store employees polite and always ready to assist customers during busy shopping trips. Some reviewers were happy with surprisingly smooth online pickup orders and fair, highly competitive prices on various everyday products.

Target is kind if hit or miss for me. The stores are usually clean and it is easy to find a good variety of products, but the online orders can be frustrating sometimes. Had a delay once with shipping updates and customer support want very helpful. Still decent for everyday shopping though.
I placed an online order. Waited days while it was "being prepared for shipment." Then, finally, the tracking said it was on its way. The expected arrival date came and went. The tracking went back to saying "being prepared for shipment." Target makes it hard to talk with a human customer service agent, and when I finally reached one, he wouldn't do anything but direct me to wait longer. These jerks shouldn't be in business.
Was on line at 3am drop ordering Pokemon ETB .Put items in a cart but could not check out for an hour! System was asking me to log in (?) but did not work and kept saying that " high demand items slowing the process".I have saved items for later while kept trying to check out while my email access did not work and pass code was mot available due to system failure.Items disappeared from my cart.Customer service agent simply played possum after me waiting for 15 minutes to get connected. She ( Demi) thanked me for patience and disappeared right after that and in 12 min. hung up.I was trying to address her -but guess she was not up to work in wee hours.Degenerate company.
Their online shop is completely unusable. Every time I try to order something, it cancels due to a "Technical Issue" but it won't explain what that means. I have tried five times to order a simple item and it emails me saying its cancelled and yet shipping at the same time but then never goes through. Completely useless, I will never be using it again and I recommend others do the same unless they want to be frustrated.
Yesterday on 5/20/2026, I visited Target in West View Coral Springs Florida, to purchase something special for myself using a gift card my brother sent me from Tampa. While shopping, I had the pleasure of being checked out by an artistic young woman on the spectrum who was working as a cashier. She was absolutely excellent — kind, focused, professional, and very pleasant during my experience.
It truly made me happy to see Target giving opportunities to disabled individuals and allowing them to be included and successful in our society. Representation and inclusion matter, and seeing this touched my heart. Thank you, Target, for creating a welcoming environment for both employees and customers. I left the store smiling and appreciative of the wonderful experience.
5 stars all the way! Maria E
Used 3 gift cards at this store back in April, but one couldn't be used because I was making a purchase of another giftcard along with other items. I couldn't exceed the value of the items and apply it to the giftcard I was buying, so the associate used two of my giftcards and gave me back what I thought was my $100 giftcard. I came back a different day to make a purchase and took out my final giftcard to pay and they told me it had a $0 balance. The associate had apparently given me back one of my used giftcards with a $0 balance instead of the $100 one. I went to customer service and they couldn't help me and referred me to a customer service number. They couldn't help me either because I didn't have the card information. I said well obviously I don't have the giftcard number as the associate kept it (hopefully accidentally and didn't sneakily steal it). They said well do you have the receipt? I said no because it was a gift for my baby shower 3 years ago. They told me to go talk to the person who bought it...are they kidding? I had 50 people at this baby shower from 3 years ago. I forgot who gave it to me and I doubt the person who gifted it to me has their receipt or even remembers either. They said they couldn't do anything, even though this is a huge store chain and I have no doubt they have the power to rectify the situation. I said well is there anything else you can do because this isn't my mistake. I didn't lose my card, or misplaced it. I trusted your associate with it and trusted them to give me back the correct giftcard. They said no they couldn't do ANYTHING and said "well we have no information to go off." Again, whose fault is that...Target has systems in place to track these, so please don't tell me that you can't do anything. You guys just don't want to rectify the situation nor did they even try to accommodate me for the mistake or give a lousy 5% off or even apologize. What a terrible terrible chain. Apparently they are okay with $100 being taken from the customer due to a mistake by their employee. Total scam they can't figure out how to track this down. Obviously there is a full $100 giftcard with their used ones that they recycle and yet they can't figure out how to get me back my giftcard nor try to make amends. Taking from customers during a really bad inflation. Really nice Target!
Prices were amazing customer services were great the workers were very nice. The place was clean the machines in Everett other hall were handy when I needed to find something in such a big store and there were so many options.
I ordered a digital gift card from target.com, I got an email saying my gift card was delivered to my email, but never got the code. I talked to a service agent, told me it takes up to 24 hours to load funds on the digital gift card and that I have to wait 24 hours to have it. That's not how that works. I have ordered digital gift cards from other places and had it immediately. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS AT ALL THEY WILL SCAM YOU!! It doesn't take 24 hours to load a gift card with money
My item was damaged and sent back to the shipper through Fedex and Target says to return the item that I never received at all now. I don’t like their return policy and they need to give a full refund right now.
I am very disappointed with this purchase experience. The patio set arrived with missing chairs and no tracking information was available for several days. The table also arrived damaged with a visible dent in the metal frame.
What was most frustrating was the inconsistent customer service. I was initially told a discount could be offered for the damaged table, but later was told no adjustment would be made because the item was sold through a third-party vendor on Target’s website.
The return process has also been far more difficult than expected for a large furniture item. Customers should not have to leave oversized items outside for a 48-hour pickup window and assume the risk of theft or weather damage.
I ordered through Target because I trusted the Target name and expected better communication and support for items sold on their website.
Ugh what’re can get some god damn service sheesh I wanted to buy something but it in a clashed god dman case and there was zero service i have the money but no one to help why can place trackers on your products that way custermers won’t be wasting there time trying to get what they want when there’s no gods dman employee to unlock the god damn cases
What made my experience so good was the amazing clothing !!
What made my experience so good was the fact that they make their website so easily to use. The company is doing really well in selling product that this generation is specifically looking for.
I purchased a resin storage shed at a good sale price online. Two days later the order was cancelled for no apparent reason. Support said it was the retail partner but that the item had been relisted and I could purchase it for the same price. I ordered it again. The delivery date was moved 4 separate times and after two weeks I called to inquire. The order was then cancelled again. I contacted support and they said it was out of stock (Despite being listed on the website). I said that I was willing to wait but wanted the sale price. Support said there was no way to hold a sale price and refused to escalate the request any higher. Very frustrating experience.

Rockwall Target is by far the worst Target on the planet!!! I stopped going into the store years ago because of the dirtiness and employees but continued to do "drive up." Well now that is over! Today, with gas being over 4 dollars and my lunch getting cold, I had to return part of my pickup. They gave me a box of Cesar dog food (which was ordered) but instead of it being packed in properly, the dividers were missing and random flavors were added and it was missing over 10 packs. When I returned it and explained, not even an "I'm sorry." "Can we get you a new box?" They did nothing with a frown. What a crappy store. I am now just going to go drive up at Walmart. They are so much better!!
Target is a disgrace. We just purchased a snorkel mask, opened it and noticed it was broken, never used it, returned it to the store with a receipt within 45 minutes, and were informed they won't accept returns for "ocean items" even if clearly broken or defective. They werent even interested in seeing how it was broken, as the clerk said it doesnt matter because its store policy. This was at the Honolulu Marketplace location. I want to make sure everyone is aware of this disgraceful policy.
We ordered a tv console online. We received a few of the pieces damaged. We followed the instructions inside the package and sent an email with pictures. Apparently it was handled by a Target "partner". They politely told us to contact Target directly. We contacted Target and explained that we are willing to keep it & my husband would glue the broken pieces and use some wood touch-up on the rest. However, they told us the couldn't give any compensation and basically our only option is to return it or purchase another and swap the parts, then return. ... Sorry but we'll never do online Target again - such a disappointment.
